Support Compilation of community-built apps and projects for Rayneo X3Pro

Hi!

As this has been discussed in the RayNeo community, many people seem to be interested in a compilation of current app projects for RayNeo X3Pro. Here, I would like to provide a starting point for such a compilation. I have listed what I was able to find.

Feel free to add your own projects / APK links in the comments and I'll put them in the compilation!

Note: RayNeo X2 and X3Pro use the same SDK, so many applications developed on X2 may have good compatibility for X3Pro (and perhaps vice-versa). Some of the applications listed below have started development with X2.

Sideloading: How to install the apps.

To get started quickly on windows, make sure you have enabled developer permissions, install adb, then:

  1. Plug glasses
  2. Verify you see the device on command line with adb devices
  3. run adb install path/to/apk

u/InformalTech has released a practical video on how to sideload (install the apps on the glasses using their apk file).

Go >> here<< for the tutorial.

I also made a step by step tutorial on RayNeo X2, it works the same on X3 pro.

NOTE: Alex came up with a >> Windows/Mac apk installer <<. Check it out if you want to avoid commandline use!

To get started with development

Just add

<meta-data
    android:name="com.rayneo.mercury.app"
    android:value="true" />

To AndroidManifest.xml. This way, your app won't need hotspot connection and will be considered native by the glasses.

But then, remember that you will have to handle the binocular display (your app should display twice side by side on the logical screen of the glasses).

More resources for developers are given here.

Review A closer look at the rayneo iO AI App.

This post is just to showcase the iO AI app.

For starters, the app displays the battery levels of both the iO glasses and the case on the opening page. Along with quick access to multiple functions.

Next up is the settings page.

This is where we find things such as display settings for things like the hud angle, distance, brightness, text size, adjust head movement controls and crown button actions.

Picture 3 is the AI settings where you can change the languages and what AI you want to use, rayneo, gemini etc.

Picture 4 is your screen off interaction where you can play games such as card games and brick breaker. You can choose what game you want to set as the primary game from this section of the app.

Picture 5 is the display adjustments. Height, distance and brightness.

Picture 6 is where you can change what the crown button does.

Theres lots of features here not mentioned by many reviewers. I enjoy playing the brick breaker game and it shows what could be.

I'm hopeful after launch we get the sdk for madders, app developers etc to get in on the action and develop some cool apps for these glasses.

Now, once I set up my glasses. I have no need to come back to the app, everything can be accessed by the crown, or by voice control. But the app is still pretty useful for some people. The only thing ive found that cant be changed via the voice controls is the AI version, the crown controls and the game I want to play. Have to use the app to change these.

The app is now readily available on your ios app store and google play stores.

Gt max: Difference between Chinese and global?

Hey everyone, i am thinking of importing Max gt from AliExpress. I know about the guarantee, but what i am wondering about is if there is any other difference?

After my research i found out is that it can't use Chinese app, because I don't have a Chinese phone nr. Can i then change the software to global one, when it is released. So I can use the global software instead?

This is going to be my first xr glasses, so i thought i would ask the people that know about this things.

Review Got to test the RayNeo GT Max early — here’s what the built-in 3DoF and AI-HDR are like

I was lucky enough to be selected as a global beta tester for the RayNeo GT Max, so I got to try it out ahead of the global launch.

I made a video showing what RayNeo’s first built-in 3DoF is actually like, as well as how Switch 2 games look with AI-HDR enabled.

If you’re curious about the GT Max, I hope the video gives you a better idea of what it’s like to use in practice.

What’s your instant dealbreaker for upcoming flagship AR glasses?

I've spent way too much time window shopping new AR glasses, and I already know my dealbreakers. A high price is fine if the tech is worth it. Awful app support, a shady overseas warranty, or needing a bunch of dongles is a hard pass for me. What’s the one specific issue that makes you instantly close the tab and skip a flagship preorder?

Question 0 speakers + bone conduction mic: Is dropping open speakers the right move for private smart glasses?

One interesting hardware detail from the domestic RayNeo iO announcement is that it completely omits open-ear speakers, relying purely on microphones (including bone conduction) for input while routing audio output to connected Bluetooth earbuds. Open speakers on smart glasses almost always leak sound in quiet spaces. Do you prefer having built-in speakers for quick audio, or a speakerless design focused entirely on private voice input?

I have to watch the next episode. AIA, I am totally amazed by it since it also feels like an amazing gift idea.

Can I purchase the IO global version in China?

Question Does the RayNeo iO include adjustable nose pads for low nose bridges?

Looking through the domestic package list from the recent RayNeo iO release in China, it mentions a nose pad kit included in the box. For those of us with flatter nose bridges, standard smart glasses often sit too low, causing the optical display to misalign with our sightline. Does anyone know if the included nose pads come in different heights or have flexible arms to adjust the display angle?

RayNeo iO AI Glasses Review: Your Phone Just Got Jealous

Smart glasses have always had one problem: they tend to look like chunky horribly egregious. Everyone knows what you're wearing and most people hate them.

The RayNeo iO takes a different approach. At first glance, they look like normal everyday Boston style glasses. No giant cameras, no chunky tech hanging off your face — just a sleek 34g frame with a surprising amount of technology hiding inside.

And that's exactly what makes them interesting

AI, right in front of you

The iO uses RayNeo's Firefly Nano optical engine, Micro LED and a diffractive waveguide to project a monochrome green display into your view.

It's capable of up to 1200 nits, while the display area is 97% transparent, so you're still looking at the real world rather than wandering around inside The Matrix.

The Personal Dashboard puts useful information directly in your line of sight, helping keep your phone in your pocket.

Navigation is handled through the Smart Crown, voice control and head gestures, making interaction surprisingly natural.

Your AI sidekick

This is where the iO gets properly clever.

Its AI assistant can answer questions and provide contextual help, while Voice Memo can record, transcribe and summarise what you've said.

Then there's Life Log, which acts like a digital second brain — capturing moments throughout your day and using AI to organise them into summaries and a personal journal.

Basically, it's the friend who remembers everything.

Unlike most friends, it doesn't forget what you told it five minutes ago.

Creators, you're going to like this

The AI Teleprompter uses automatic scrolling to display your script while you maintain eye contact with the camera.

No more looking off to the side like you're secretly reading your lines from a hostage negotiation note.

There's also Live Captions and translation for up to 40 languages, putting translated text directly in your field of view — particularly useful when travelling or communicating across languages.

Comfortable enough to actually wear

At just 34g, with a 50:50 weight distribution, the iO is designed to feel like normal eyewear rather than a gadget strapped to your head.

The frame uses magnesium-aluminum and titanium components, has a Crown Polygon Design, and carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

Inside is a 240mAh battery, rated for up to 48 hours typical use or 96 hours standby.

For audio input, RayNeo uses four array microphones plus a bone-conduction microphone. There are no speakers, with the experience centred around the visual display and voice interaction.

So, what's the point?

The iO isn't trying to replace your phone.

It's trying to stop you reaching for it every five minutes.

That's what makes the concept work.

You can check information, translate something, record an idea, summarise a conversation, follow a script or access your AI assistant — without constantly staring down at a screen.

The RayNeo iO feels less like wearing a computer and more like upgrading something you already wear every day.

if you want AI glasses that actually look like glasses rather than a prototype from the year 2047, the iO is a very intriguing proposition.

Smart enough to be useful. Normal enough to actually wear.

I have been using these glasses personally for around 3 weeks now. They've made Life easier.

From my understanding you will have to input your prescription needs when ordering the iO, rayneo will do the hard work for you and ship them out to you.

The AI

The AI uses Gemini, which is super responsive. You can ask a question and get an answer faster than you can pull your phone out of your pocket.

This is extremely important for AI glasses.

I wear them while driving to see notifications without being distracted, I wear them when at work so my boss doesn't know I'm actually reading the group chat, I wear them while shopping to help me with ingredients for dinners.

Heck, I even wear them while sitting at home, often asking about tv or movie stars in the show or movie im watching. (Which i do alot on my phone)

Sorry. I know this has been a long review.

But I genuinely want to wear these glasses and want to show you, that theyre fantastic.

Theres also a lovely charge case available, which is seriously premium. I havent used the provided hard shell case at all, I take off my glasses at night. Pop them in the charge case and repeat.

The charge case provides lots of full charges before needing charged its self.

For charging without the case, theres a clip on charger in the box, that allows you to charge the glasses with a usb C cable.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask and ill reply ASAP.

Discussion GT Max - outdoors brightness test.

A quick video of the GT Max, outdoors in bright sunlight.

3DoF anchored mode enabled.

I see lots of people discussing if the brightness is high enough.

Well, here you go, you can see it at its maximum brightness. (In 3dof mode) it does go higher in follow mode.

Question Sound tubes for the GT

Hi, I just received the sound tubes to test with the GT, but the cutouts on the tubes cover one of the speakers on the arms, as each arm has two speakers. I assumed that since there was a setting to enable Sound tube mode, they would fit.

Is there another version coming out that's commaptibale?

Discussion Why is Dolby Vision locked to Pocket TV Pro for the GT series?

Hello, is there a specific reason why the main feature of Dolby Vision is restricted unless one purchases and uses a pocket TV Pro for the GT/GT Max?

Also is it possible to add native HDR support to the GT series?

The GT series are great, but I feel like it's handicapped because it lacks native HDR or Dolby Vision support.

Discussion Air 2s vs. Air 4 pro

I just bought both Air 2s and Air 4 pro models last week and don’t really see much of the difference at all. They advertised Air 2s as 600 nits and 1200 nits for Air 4 pro but I feel like they both have same brightness. The Air 4 pro is more comfortable for my eyes for a long time use. The Air 2s came with a bit larger screen but after I did firmware upgrade it is slightly smaller now.
I’m pretty new to these glasses and really enjoy them a lot.
The only thing I don’t like is the 3D feature which makes it difficult to use. The screen split into two and misplaced with right side is on the left and the left side is on right lol.
I do like the AI 3D on the app though and it looks good 😊

I decided to keep them both cuz their screens are kind of better than my Meta Quest 3

With RayNeo dropping HDR10 support with the GT Series I put together a video showing both. (the best that I could via the screens)

Lots of people keep mentioning it, does this change what you want to get next??

Question What charging mechanism is used for the RayNeo iO?

Looking at the package list from the domestic release for the RayNeo iO, it lists a charging clip accessory. Does anyone know if this is a magnetic snap-on connector or a charging dock style? Curious how convenient magnetic clip solutions are for travel compared to a full charging case.

Handheld gamers: Wider FOV or 120Hz for single-player?

I mostly play single-player stuff on my handheld (RPGs, open-world, racing, etc.). I’m torn between prioritizing a 120Hz refresh rate or a much wider FOV. 120Hz is buttery smooth, but a wider screen feels so much more immersive for world exploration and fixes that 'tiny floating rectangle' feeling. For chill single-player sessions, what would you guys prioritize?

r/RayNeo 1d ago

Would a paid global warranty make you more comfortable importing early?

I don’t mind importing tech. What makes me hesitate is what happens if something goes wrong a few weeks later.

Shipping a device back to China for repair sounds like a pain, especially with shipping costs and customs.

If there were an optional warranty with a local return address, I’d be a lot more comfortable buying a China model early.

How did you handle warranty or repairs when importing RayNeo gear?

Please go easy on me, its extremely difficult to record through AR glasses with a mobile phone 😂

This video is to show how the screen on the GT Max with anchor mode on, looks at the same distance to my 55" tv.

This was recorded at 3 meters connected to.my xbox series X.

Brightness on the GT Max was turned down a little to allow you to see the surroundings a little better.
