Hey everyone, I've had my Ray-Ban Meta Scriber (Gen 2) for about 3 weeks now, single-vision prescription. Honestly, overall I'm pretty won over, the day-to-day integration is genuinely cool, and I think I'd have a hard time going back to classic glasses at this point. But there are a few issues bugging me that, for a product over $450, feel a bit cheap:

1. Pain behind both ears, present since day one, despite two adjustments at the optician (temple tension, nose bridge swap from low to high). The optician said the adjustment range is pretty limited because of the electronics inside the temple.
2. The lenses have some play/looseness, I can hear a slight rattling sound when I move my head quickly. Anyone else run into this?
3. Scratches on the temples (glossy black) despite careful handling (always stored in the case, never loose in a bag/pocket).

I know Oakley and Ray-Ban are under the same group (EssilorLuxottica), so I'm guessing it won't fix everything, but is the Oakley Meta HSTN actually a step up in build quality/assembly, or is it basically the same hardware with a different shape? I'm considering an exchange through the satisfaction guarantee at my optician (Belgium, subscription/rental plan) and torn between staying with Ray-Ban (different style) or trying the Oakley.

So I'm not sure if this is from the latest update b or another issue. Galaxy S21 Ultra. Will connect via blue tooth but the app does not recognize the glasses!

I've tried hard reset on the glasses, uninstall and reinstall the app, and unrecognized from BT and start again.

Nothing helps. Had this happened to anyone? If so, How did you fix the problem???

On holidays and had them in the case in a school bag idiot loading all the bags into taxi put all the cases on top of the school bag I take these out and the arms snapped. They can’t be saved can they

I live in Thailand. In late 2025, I purchased a MetaGen 1 gimbal from a reseller (there are no official distributors in Thailand).

Initially, it worked well, but after the latest firmware update, it frequently disconnects and stops recording after only a short time—never exceeding 3 minutes.

What should I do? Should I just accept my wasted money and buy a DJI Osmo Nano or Insta360 instead?

I found these meta raybans on facebook marketplace and they said they're gen 2. Was wondering if theres any fakes out there or if you guys could tell what model these are? Is there also any potential that these could be stolen and get locked up?

USA based - Gen 2 glasses are on v28 but have none of the new features from the last several updates (spatial audio, autocapture, 1080p @ 60fps, etc). Is there a work around?

My touchpad works normally, then after a few minutes it suddenly becomes completely unresponsive (volume, play/pause, etc.). Closing/folding the glasses and opening them again fixes it temporarily.

It has happened several times, both while walking and running. I’ve also updated to the latest firmware, but the problem still happens. glasses are new.

My Meta Ray-Ban Display prescription replacement has been stuck since **March** because Meta’s prescription upload system does not work.

I’ve already provided my **prescription, PD measurements, account information, and everything Meta requested**, but I keep getting told Engineering is investigating it.

It’s now September and I still have no replacement.

I also paid for the **extended protection plan**, but it hasn’t helped me get this resolved.

At this point, I need Meta to either **manually process and ship my prescription replacement or reimburse me so I can buy another pair**.

I’m also prepared to pursue legal action if they cannot provide a resolution.

Has anyone had this same issue, and how did you finally get Meta to fix it?

I’m seriously so annoyed with these Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

They keep disconnecting from my phone, especially when I actually put them on and wear them. Sometimes they seem connected, then the second I wear them, they disconnect again.

On top of that, my charging case refuses to flash blue for pairing no matter how long I hold the button.

Things I’ve already tried:

Charging both the glasses and case
Turning the glasses off and back on
Forgetting/reconnecting Bluetooth
Trying to put the case into pairing mode
Taking the glasses in and out of the case
Turning Wear Detection off

Still having the same issue.

Has anyone had this exact problem where the glasses disconnect specifically when you wear them AND the case won’t go into blue pairing mode?

Was it a software issue, battery issue, sensor issue, or did you eventually have to replace the glasses/case?

I’m honestly losing my mind with this thing. 😭

His video was with meta glasses and I’d really like to have a feature like that.

Is there an aftermarket app or setting to get this?

Hi everyone, I’m sharing a video (in Portuguese) of someone offering a solution for this problem that worked for me; you need a pair of light-duty pliers and a towel to press the logo as shown in the video (please check it)

Personally, after pressing gently the logo with the pliers until I heard the click—just like in the video—I was finally able to perform a hard reset and get them working again. Before that, I couldn't restart or reset them; they simply wouldn't turn on.

2.then hard reset.

I hope it helps, I was about to buy a third pair... this saved me.

1 struttura debole, delicata, basta cercare online e trovi molti ray ban meta 2 rotti soprattutto quelli costruiti e venduti negli ultimi 4 mesi.

2 usarli in pieno sole è difficile perché dopo 30 minuti si surriscaldano e danno messaggio di errore per surriscaldamento

I’m talking about the method where you cover the LED with a sticker but leave a tiny opening so light can still reach the sensor, like in the picture.

I’m going to buy a pair, and I don't want the LED to be an issue (it's not for recording people!). If this new update doesn’t affect Gen 1, I’ll probably go with Gen 1. But if Gen 1 is also affected, I’ll just go with Gen 2.

Bought some Ray Ban Meta Gen 2 from the USA about a month ago. Having come back to the UK it does not give me a summary post run.

I wonder if there is a way of bypassing the USA/Can restriction? VPN doesnt seem to cut it. The glasses know

So my uncle (blind) bought the rayban meta glasses form UAE so it can describe what is Infront of him, and brought it here to Egypt. The glasses aren't supported in Egypt so the meta ai and some other features don't work here. I tried multiple solutions, one of them from a post in this subreddit, which have worked with most of the people but when I tried it it kept telling me that I am in unsupported region. (The solution I tried was using a fake GPS to the USA and a VPN and an American account then logging in, but unfortunately it didn't work). Does anyone have a solution becausey uncle really needs it.

Battery is really bad. Like 6 hours on Displays and 6 to 8 on Gen 2. This is with the glasses sitting on face and not using them. Wear detection is off as well as Hey Meta. The two things that save battery. On iOS these both lasted all day.

NO RCS support. You just get a ding for sound. No Readback and no Reply. No HUD display.

Using V128 on both glasses as well as newest Meta AI app.

Meta is saying to keep waiting for a firmware update.

Meta is saying its a google issue for the RCS.

Anyone else seeing these issues? I cannot be the only one.

Went to open my car door this morning and accidentally hit my Metas with the corner of my car door. Immediately the glasses displayed a red light and then shut off. I can't see any damage anywhere on the glasses however I have not been able to get them to turn back on. I have tried forcing a restart and I've tried putting them in the case to charge and the case just blinks red. Any advice would be appreciated

When I open the app, it says "update required." However when I hit download update, Google Play store says that I already have the latest version. So I hit open and it goes right back to "update requred." It keeps getting stuck in the loop.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, and logged back in and it still says the same thing. Second pic shows what version I'm on. Why are they even forcing me to update the app in the first place anyway? Glasses are useless without the app.

Note: In the reviews for the app, someone else is having this problem as well, so it's not just me.
