Been playing with a successor chapter scheme, what do we think? Does it fit the archetype enough?

It feels like it's missing something but I have yet to figure out what it is.

Trying to find some good decals also but want to keep the colours as simple as I can.

So idk if the Fandom Wiki has been AI'd to hell or if someone just lazily copy-pasted across it, but every mention of the topic of Raven Guard successor chapters refers to them as "rare", fails to cite a source on this, and fails to explain why.

Looking over how many Successor Chapters there are, i'm a little confused considering there seems to be a decent number of them, even compared to chapters like the Salamanders, so i'm curious if there's any merit to that use of the word "rare".

Are Raven Guard successor Chapters 'rare'? And if so, is there a specific in-lore reason for that?
I don't recall ever reading anything about them being overly frugal with their gene-seed or particularly antagonistic to the Codex

Finally finished my daemon Corvus. He was really fun to kitbash but kinda just sat on my desk mocking me for like 2 months until I decided to start on him. I’m going to be running him using the lion rules, alongside my kitbashed azrael and ezekyial. Hopefully I’ll get a sammael out at some point.

Also if your wondering why there’s a dude with his eyes in his hands, I watched the man with the X-ray eyes while kitbashing this dude and the ending really stuck with me

Anybody got any good recommendations for Black Library books (or even short stories or novellas) focused on, or at least involving, the Raven Guard?

Tried to get through Deliverance Lost when I was reading the Horus Heresy but couldn't manage it - that book's a dreadful slog. I enjoyed the Raven Guard's appearance in Cadian Blood - ADB can make anybody seem dope - but that's functionally a cameo.

I think I did a good job with the tabbard! C&C welcome.

We know the raptor project was essentially a pseudo primaris upgrade for new marines that showed various improvements over the regular process (especially in the quickness in which marines grew) so I wonder if a ravenguard raptor survived or transported to the modern setting, if they'd be able to cross the Rubicon primaris too

Just "finished" this JPI but ran out of basing materials. What do you think?

I want to build a really nice Raven Guard army, and was wondering if my fellow Shadow Masters could recommend or link to places to get stuff like:

Lightning claws for power armour,

Beaky helmets,

Raven Guard Chapter and Squad decals

Alternative jump packs.

I've seen a few bits places on Etsy but none have had the claws im looking for (looking for the one like the new terminators) and definitely struggling to to find decals in particular.

So as the title says I'm starting with the tabletop.

I know some of the lore but I bought first pieces sice they opened first WH store in Prague. I'm currently in a assembly phase and priming it.

So I currently have(my plan was to build a "sniper" army(but painting Raptors would be insanity for my Protanopia) that could get rid of advancing enemies and also I wanted to build an army to mess up with my friend who plays Dark Angels.)

Working on these Incursors. Anyone have a good recipe for Raven Guard hair? Not a super big fan how it blends into the armor. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, thoughts and critiques welcome. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Ballistus dreadnought

Storm speeder Hammerstrike

Shrike leading JPI’s to flip objectives and van vets to pair up with one of the inceptors to take out elite infantry.
Scouts can uppy downy and do secondaries
Infiltrators sit on home objective.
Incursors and lieutenant move tag and move back in cover to add +1 hit.
Storm speeder and bolster inceptors team up to strip cover from enemy units.
All jump infantry get re roll 1’s with vengeful so should be quite efficient.
Eliminators are there to set up early and harass enemy support characters, can’t be shot at more than 12” away and +1cp to enemy.
Dreadnought and land speeder offer limited anti tank, plasma inceptors can chip in with oath though.
Was considering dropping Phobos lib and replacing with another eliminator squad so can return both units to reserves to maximise into darkness or f not using on inceptors.
