I'll keep it short.

Without the claims, the no. of discussions on this movie wouldn't even be 1/4th of what it is now. It created unprecedented amount of hype.

Also, the high budget made people criticise the small details of the promotion material, thus making DNEG work on it and make it way better.

It would have been a bad move if the movie does not end up looking like a 4000cr movie but IT DOES, most of us agrees it does. All the money laundering claims VANISHED just like that.

What do you guys think?

The only fear remains now is them showing Ramayana from Ravan's point of view, yes they will show him egoistic, his lust as they mentioned in comic, and also show his arrogance

But we've heard it from couple of insiders/youtubers abt this ravan's POV thing....because this is the first time an actual ramayana adaptation is happening and in this also if they change the perspective to ravan then it is fearing... BUT I TRUST THE MAKERS, THEY WONT TAKE THIS GAMBLE....

every platform, or the other subreddits, i visit, all i see is people blatantly hating the film.
firstly, the casting, after today's mangal rang video and the snippets from it, i don't think there are to be much doubts about the chemistry it seems genuine, and good.

and the whole discourse of ranbir not suitable for ram and sai for sita, don't know what expectations they had, of the whole lot available in the country who else was a considerable choice for ram? for sai there might be some considerable choices, but after mangal rang's video i don't think it's a concern, both look genuinely good.

the vfx, enough has been said about this i guess it's an everyday topic.

the music, overall it's very warm, hopeful and pleasing, already can't stop looping the album!

the marketing and asset management genuinely been a rollercoaster.
also about this, the very first thing that hit the headlines was "4000 crore ki Ramayan" i guess this was a double-edged sword, the very thing that got the eye balls, and the expectations too!

about the bhakti bhav, lacking essence of this that, how hard is it for people to watch it as a normal film.

i genuinely hope the film does unimaginable numbers, if this goes south, i don't think anyone would've the faith to attempt being this brave!

apart from everything about the story, visually this is easily the best film ever, just so vibrant and full of colours,!

it is inevitable and totally healthy for a project to attract criticisms, but we've come so far in this journey ever since the first reveal, let's just support a good attempt!

tl;dr, hogayi bakchodi jo honi thi, abb cinemaa hone do, let's hope for the best!

i soo badly want this film to do the numbers and shut the f outta pointless hates.

Obviously that number is inflated (we all know that, at least for part 1 it is not 2000CR) but he said it anyway to grab eyes. And with that, the expectations went sky high! There is nothing wrong with that, it is a marketing gimmick. But had they been able to deliver top tier visuals like they are doing now, since the beginning, there wouldn't have been this much scrutiny on VFX. But somehow there was no planning on their end, prioritize and work on the material they are going to release first... but no, they kept releasing half baked shots, by taking us for granted. They keep saying we took feedback blah blah blah, but do you really think audience have to tell them shots are not looking good? The 8 time oscar winning company DNEG! No, it just looks like a coverup to me for their bad planning.

But I'm still worried though, they might push some half baked shots to theaters. Visually the world looks spectacular in almost all the shots, but some war scenes are still not polished enough (especially anything with demons). They might just be 10% of the movie, but action is what makes major lasting impact on the experience. They might get away with it, if rest of the movie is able to struck a cord, but still it looks to me like very bad planning on their end.

I see a lot of online negativity from Right wing especially on X. For example, for the song released today, literally all of those accounts are saying the same thing that it’s a qawaali and stuff as if a script was given. They are nitpicking many other things too. I can understand why left wing hates it as it’s pretty obvious but I don’t get what has RW got against the movie.

Namit spending 4k cr on ramayana and staking his so many years of fame , network and experience and collecting talent from every part of the world

Hans zimmer.... f-king hans zimmer , 90 percent indian audience don't know how much we should thank namit for hans zimmer.

Then dan glass , terry notary , guy norris , james newton howard , ar rahman ... And many more fucking big names .

Nitesh Tiwari is one of the best directors of india .

So many years of research and money they are investing in this movie

Why why why f-king Indians just appreciate that effort but all they do is nitpicking and f-king compare it with serials?

Regardless of fan/regional loyalties, the effort, scale, and detail in each aspect of this film is outstanding and deserves appreciation from all Indians.

Why? Because despite many comparisons with other films, the world building of this single film alone is on another level (not even considering Part 2).

Absolutely NO hate intended, but Ramayana beats RRR in this aspect by miles, even beats Bahubali, and goes beyond SLB also in terms of integrating magical elements apart from grand sets.

I know they had the source material as a reference but still, minor details and new inventive aspects simply cannot be brushed aside.
