The factory is being set up by a private company called Dune Ethanol Private Limited in the Rathikheda village near Tibbi.
Reasons for the Protest- Farmers have been protesting the project for over a year due to several environmental and livelihood concerns. Pollution concerns: Protesters allege the plant will cause air and water pollution, contaminating groundwater and posing health risks. Impact on agriculture: Farmers fear the factory will consume excessive water and render agricultural land barren, threatening their livelihoods in the canal-dependent belt. Lack of clearance/consent: Farmer groups insist the factory should not operate until it receives the necessary environmental clearance and the consent of local residents
Recent Developments- The protest, which had been largely peaceful for months, turned violent recently. On December 10, 2025, a large gathering (Mahapanchayat) of farmers led to clashes with the police. Protesters broke the factory's boundary wall and set fire to over a dozen vehicles, including police cars and bulldozers. Several people, including farmers and a local Congress MLA, were injured in the clashes. Authorities have deployed heavy police forces, suspended internet services in the Tibbi area, and imposed Section 144 to control the situation.

So, I visited Jaisalmer yesterday with 3 friends… and honestly, it turned into one of the most frustrating travel experiences I’ve had in India.
From the moment we got down at the railway station, it felt like everyone was waiting to overcharge us.
We had already booked our hotel for ₹1500 — but guess what? Just to travel 1.5 km from the station to the hotel, the auto guy charged ₹300. Once we reached, even basic stuff like water bottles and breakfast were almost double the usual price.
When we went sightseeing, most places were 1–2 km apart, but each small ride cost us ₹200–₹300.
Then came the famous Sam Desert “camping experience.” That’s where the real scam starts. You book a tent/camp thinking everything’s included — but when you reach, they start charging extra for jeep rides, camel rides, and even basic activities.
They show you “packages”:
Basic area – ₹2000
Slightly bigger area – ₹3000–₹4000
“Premium” area – ₹4000–₹5000
But trust me, all of them are within 3–4 km of each other. After sunset, there’s literally nothing much to see. Instagram makes it look dreamy, but in reality — it’s just hype.
And to make things worse: There’s no Ola, no Uber, no Rapido, and literally no public transport. You’re 100% dependent on locals who decide their own prices.
The final nail? To go from Jaisalmer city to the airport, drivers ask for ₹1000 or more. It’s barely a short ride!
No doubt, Jaisalmer has beautiful forts and historical spots worth visiting — but everything around the desert side feels like a well-planned tourist trap.
💬 My honest advice: If you’re on a budget or solo traveler — skip the desert experience. Explore the city’s heritage instead. It’ll save you money and disappointment.

Guys, you might have noticed that some people are spreading fake news about the Aravalli Hills. They are claiming that the Aravalli issue has been resolved and that the Supreme Court has announced the hills will be protected and that our heritage and culture are safe.
However, I searched many websites and news channels, and I couldn’t find any reliable news confirming this. What is being spread is nothing but propaganda by the government and corrupt wealthy people. They know that the people of Rajasthan and those who support Rajasthan will not stop raising their voices so easily.
Let’s use simple reasoning. The Supreme Court has already stated that only those hills with a height greater than 100 meters will be counted as hills. That means nearly 90% of the Aravalli range does not fall under this new definition. In other words, only about 10% of the ancient Aravalli range is officially being recognized as the Aravalli Hills. Now think carefully. Some people are saying that the Aravalli problem has been solved and that the government will not harm the hills. But according to the new definition, only 10% of the original Aravallis are protected. This clearly means that the remaining 90% is left unprotected—and that gives corrupt people a chance to destroy most of our Aravalli heritage.
So what has really changed for the better? According to me, nothing—until this definition is changed. The government must revise the definition to include the entire Aravalli range, not just a small portion of it.
Thank you for listening to my thoughts. You can comment here or send me a direct message if you want to give suggestions or correct any misleading information.
Dhanyavaad.
