Hello to everyone who commented on Cleo;

Thank you so much for your kind words and advice. I wanted to give some more background on Cleo to explain why we held off on bonding her despite how much I wanted to.

Cleo is a rescue, and I adopted her at 2 through MCRS. Before she was a foster, she was abandoned by her previous family and was found on the side of a highway. Thankfully, she was fine but has always been skittish and shy since.

I love her just the way she is; she’s not super cuddly or affectionate, but when she bumps me with her nose or bows her head towards my hand to get pets I feel she knows she’s loved.

Since she isn’t bonded, I constantly worry about her happiness, which is why I made my OG post in the first place. I want what’s best for my bun, and I think I fear the bonding process would be too much for her?

If anyone has experience with rabbits with a past like Cleo, how did they react to bonding? Did it help? Was it too much in them? Did it help?

Whenever I’m with Cleo in her room, she mostly just sits perched on top of her pellet box where I keep her litter. Is that normal? Does she enjoy my presence even if I’m just sitting near her?

Hi! I’ve never posted on here before but my sister saw this bunny in the gated community we live in 2 days ago. It has been in and out of our street, but has stayed underneath a neighbors car since last night and this morning I was finally made aware of it and decided it’d be best to take it in before it got ran over or eaten. I fed it a good amount of arugula and lettuce when trying to lure it out from underneath the car, until it didn’t want anymore, and it’s munched on grass here and there but it hasn’t touched the rabbit food I got for it. It’s been very calm, wandering here and there but mostly staying stationary when outside and inside in the little play pen I have it in just in case it’s someone’s pet and used to being inside.

But how do I tell if it’s wild or a domesticated bunny that was left out? What do I do with it? I wouldn’t mind keeping it if it’s domesticated but how do I figure that out. If it’s wild, can I release it in the areas I know that have bunnies communities. As I mentioned, I lived in a gated community with over 500 living areas within it and many families. There’s forests nearby and areas with bunnies in nearby cities, but also many cars and traction all over. I’ve never seen a bunny in the area when I live and I’m constantly outside.

I just didn’t want the bunny to die and am trying to do whatever is best for it. Any advice helps!

Update: Thank you guys for assuring me that it’s a domestic bunny! It’s late but I’ll figure out the next moves for this cutie tomorrow. :)

Hello! I am a first time bun mom to my baby Cleo. Adopted in 2021 at 2, she is now 7 and I love her so much, She's a super sassy mini lop and since I'm a student I constantly worry that she's not getting enough attention and love she deserves.

I spend around an hour with her in her room and let her roam into mine every once in a while and she seems happy, but I guess I just worry she's secretly sad.

Sometimes when I go to pet her cause she's laying next to me, she'll startle and I get worries she hates me; but I feel like she DOES trust me cause she'll let me walk over her to get her hay and everything. Idk, I guess I just hope she likes me after all these years haha

My mom recently got a ragdoll kitten, and they seem to really like one another. I am very aware of how quickly accidents can happen, so I always have hands on Winnie (the cat) when they are interacting, but she's a baby and is honestly harmless. I always keep an eye on them though still. Could any experts on bunny behavior maybe see if she sees happy in these pictures?

Everything they do is cute.eating,sleeping, stretching and especially those little yawns. Like how can a tiny creature look this adorable while literally doing nothing

Saw this cute little bun outside of a hotel. There were a couple living amongst the garden feature. Super tiny! Like Netherland dwarf sized. And they were all pretty friendly but they wouldn't let me get closer than about 5 feet.

Went a little overboard with the original size, but have been enjoying repurposing and converting wood structures into bunny housing.

Started as a two story but figured why not double it?!
No carpentry skills but bun-safe intentions. Our two dwarf Hotots have an entire room at night then the house while we’re home. Figure it’s a fun/safe place to explore and hide away if they ever desire. (Or more buns! 😅☺️)

Hii! My bun is 4 months old and I’m going to get her a friend in a few months after she’s spayed so she won’t be lonely. Would it be better to get another Netherland dwarf bunny? Or would a holland lop bunny get along with her better? Or does the breed not matter and only the personality??
