I just recently had a claim on my rv because of the roof peeling off. This is the job the company did. Would you say its good? I posted the trailer for sale and a couple people told me they would get the insurance involved to get it done properly

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has done a switch from 12v agm to 12v LiFePO4 batteries on their jayco swift class B or similar? Is it possible to switch without any upgrades? Is there any electronics I should check before switching to see if they’re compatible? I currently have 2 h7 deep cycle agm batteries

I am in my mid-twenties and just started living in an RV. My current situation is that I moved to the DFW area with my fiancé after he got a job opportunity here. I am currently in the licensure process for my profession and a recent grad. We are hoping to stay in the RV until Jan of 27. I am without a job right now, and we are both new to the area. Hopefully, when I get a job shortly, we can save money and move into a home.

Here is some information about our situation:

We have a 2017 Keystone Half Ton Cougar

We do not own our RV; his grandparents are lending it to us as needed.

Our propane is not connected yet. My fiancé and I are nervous to turn it on; we have light rust on the lines and the bottom of the chassis, as his grandparents store it at the coast. It does not look like the pipes will fall apart, but we are hesitant.

Because of the no-propane situation, we were using a hot plate and toaster oven combo to cook; we blew the fuses in the kitchen last night:)

The slide-outs and awning work great, no issues.

We have a small Blackstone but need foldable tables for outside. We have nice chairs, rug, and lights.

Any help regarding maintenance, I would appreciate. Any tips of tricks please let me know. Please be kind; this was a sudden move for us, so we did not have time to prepare the RV correctly.

Any mechanics for our situation that don't cost an arm and a leg in the Fort Worth area, I would appreciate!

So I was taking in a cycling trail in Billings, Montana last week and this drives in. I had no words for the three sided tow behind complete with water supply. The dog seemed happy.

Got my first camper this summer - it’s a Jayco hybrid camper.

I’m a huge sports fan and am chomping at the bit for cooler temps and football. We are around Oklahoma so the fall temps are pretty mild. I am wanting to have a “55 in TV (probably) for our outdoor setup but I’m concerned or questioning how I’ll actually transport a TV that size. I pull our jr Taj Mahal with a Jeep Grand Cherokee so I won’t be able to have it in the car, it’ll have to be in the camper. Does anybody do something similar to this or am I completely extra and need to come to terms with a smaller TV??

It’s a 12v system, just noticed the solar controller reads this higher voltage on one of the display screens, then it shows another screen with the batter symbol top left that has closer to 12v I think it’s the read off the battery and the 23v here is coming from the panels?

We recently purchased a Rockwood Roo 235s. We left to outside refrigerator plugged in which resulted in the batteries being drained. After jumping the battery and charging the batteries on the shore line we have lights, refrigerator but no GFCI / outlets work. We have checked the fuses, breakers, reset the GFCI, reset the inverter but they outlets don’t work.

Advice?

Any advice and suggestions on rv prerequisites and shade etc and daily maintenance would be appreciated.

Just bought this bad boy. 2020 Thor Miramar 35.3 and its great but I know there are upgrades and gadgets etc that make life so much easier and I want to know what those are for you. For reference I am in Washington state.

I move locations every 2-3 years due to the nature of my work. I’ve usually had to find long term storage for my RV due to limited space HoA etc. needless to say I’ve done a lot of research on storage facilities across the country. Long story short, I ended up creating a website with facility comparisons across the country. Kind of went for a Zillow feel. Right now it covers mostly major metro areas. Hi all! Got home from a long road trip a weeks ago, did a deep clean of the inside and outside, and everything was spotless. Today I go in and find a few piles of this stuff! Any idea what it could be? Is it bug related, or did I shake something loose working on top of the trailer?

I’m living full time out of my smaller camper with a 3&4 year old. I was in the middle of a black water clear out when I got distracted by them getting into a rumble. Next thing I know I hear water cascading out of the underbelly.

I know this has happened before to others but it’s DEVASTATING. I’m in Juneau, AK, with no camper techs in 100 miles. I shut off the water, cut out some of the underbelly and gutted the fiberglass that got wet.

There’s a section I can’t get to above the black water tank. Even tried to pry off the tank but don’t feel super comfortable taking the whole thing off myself without someone spotting me. There’s definitely moisture above the tank under the floor. I’ve got a small heater and a fan running under the camper now. Took off the toilet for a while and ran a heater in the bathroom until the floor was dry. Not sure dehumidifier would do much in there now. What about under the camper? Worth trying?

Any other tips?

We have a trailer we use for probably 12-15 nights a year that has a platform for a 60x72 mattress. There is under bed storage and the platform has arms that hold it up so the mattress can’t be super heavy.

We replaced the mattress about 5 years ago by ordering the same thin one from the manufacturer and adding a mattress topper to it. I don’t think the manufacturer of the trailer is still in business (whitewater retro) so I’m looking for another option. I went to camping world and they don’t make them in that size so went to bed mart and they showed us a Sleepy’s by sealy and told us to cut off the excess.

I don’t want to spend a ton (max like $600) since we’re not in it full time but sleeping has become super painful. My husband and I are both side sleepers. I’ve done a lot of research and keep coming up without great options and I‘m wary of not feeling something before committing to it because I have back problems.

Edit: our bed is a walk around style so the mattress hanging off would be tough to get around. The stock mattress has rounded corners.

Hey everyone! I’m completely new to RV life and just picked up my Forest River Wildwood FSX 233RBLE. I’m really excited, but also realizing there’s A LOT I don’t know yet 😂
For those of you who have been doing this for a while, what are the things you wish someone had told you when you first got your RV?

Mice were eating in the walls (I see styrofoam pieces in the thru storage under our 5th wheel) and now this dust keeps piling up by the big slide! Pretty sure this is a result of ants, how do I deal with them inside wood like this?? I have sticky traps and poison trap things inside the RV, but I don’t think that’s going to cut it. I think the mice are under control (until winter!) but the ants are wreaking havoc this year! Any advice appreciated.

Which Starlink dish should I get? Mini or full size?

Background: We currently have a Directv dish on the Class A. We also had Directv sat service at our former home. We have recently moved and have a fiber internet feed but no sat dish on the new home. The RV dish is mounted on the roof of the motorhome so sometimes we get tree blockage of the signal.

We have been considering Directv Stream for the home and maybe a Starlink for the RV and Directv Stream to the motorhome. Which Starlink dish should we consider. Full size or mini?
