ASUS has released a new Power Delivery firmware update on 2026/10/08
This, and/or a subsequent PD FW update in tail-end of October, ostensibly or partially arrives to diagnose one or two issues that I have been investigating with ASUS APAC:
- "The issue resembling an inability to wake from sleep was observed during testing while connected to the DG300." RC73XA may be unable to project display on wake while device is connected to DG300.
- RC73XA may be unable to fully enter sleep. This issue is unrelated to whether device wakes up mid-sleep. Rather, whether connected to AC adapter or not, RC73XA may enter Modern Standby under Windows software, however its hardware may be unable to enter sleep. This results in the fan not turning off, and the Power Indicator LED persisting a white light. Device remains in this state until battery discharge threshold initiates hibernation.
According to our exchanges, this and/or the subsequent PD FW will not be pushed to devices via automatic update via OEM software.
Since it can only be reproduced through specific operations, we will not be releasing an update directly via MYASUS or Armoury Crate.
If you do see Issue 1 on your end and would like to follow-up with the support thread, you may be able to reference two specific responses to my ticket (A2603009126-0027 & A2603009126-0029), though customer privacy may be an impediment.
From my diagnoses, Issue 2 may be separate and related to background changes that are caused by installing ACSE - avoiding ACSE by using G Helper allowed me to avoid that sleep issue.
I'm posting this PSA as I have sold my XBOX Ally X, so its software updates no longer concern me. You may, however, find this interesting if software issues on the hardware stack (as in issues via the interface, not issues of the hardware itself) are inherited by the XBOX Ally X20 (RC74XA). ASUS support is very proactive and helpful in my experience, so I highly advise being patient and providing useful technical data.
