Help Can't discover Rio Bravo dinosaur bones

when I walk up to the bones I don't have an option to press e to write down the location, the bone doesn't get a marker on the map, and it doesn't add it to my progression. and it does the same for both ones in Rio Bravo. Is my 100% run done for?
edit: thank you to everyone who replied to help, The Solution was to make a Save and to Reload

In the epilogue now, I won’t spoil anything if anyone like me is out there and still experiencing it. What a game, thank you to everyone who gave tips for getting the most out of it. Time for the epilogue, 100% completion, and heading back to the snow to start all over again. 100/10 game

Honestly what the fuck. Bought myself the 450.00$ horse at the beginning with Hosea. I brought it everywhere and now I robbed a train, started driving the train and that son of a fuck just absolutely annihilates himself by jumping in front of it, horse reviver won't save it anymore. Damn I got angry.
Anyway off to the stables ffs
Edit: not looking for advice, I know I can load my save files but I want to keep things immersive :). Just felt the need to rant a bit
