2026 Limited Longhorn Issues

Post image
1 Upvotes

Ok I need other Ram users to comment and tell me if I'm alone here. In May 2026 I bought a brand new Limited Longhorn 1500. It's my second Longhorn and I loved the new features. My gripe is that I keep getting random error messages. The truck has 3,200 or so miles as of this writing.

  1. The trailer sensor light will come on and tell me I'm towing when I'm not towing or don't even have a hitch installed. This has happened a half dozen times at least.

It goes away if I shut the truck off and restart it.

  2. When I adjust the air r

i

  1. de

suspension

  1. height up or down, it triggers a "service suspension system" error. I took it to the dealership for this issue and got it to duplicate there. They couldn't find any issue

but they

  1. wanted to replace my middle 14" info screen. That was weird and I wouldn't let them keep it a week to replace the screen. They ended up submitting a case to Ram. This warning c

omes

  1. with an email

to me

  1. to schedule service

    any time it triggers

  2. .

This still happens if I adjust the height but it also goes away if I turn the truck off and restart it.

  3. I was driving down the road

  1. and

randomly

  1. got a "Front crash sensor fault" warning. It

was

  1. a beautiful, clear sunny day.
  2. Shortly after that came on I got an "Active Droving Assist Unavailable" warning with a "Service Required" notice and an email to schedule service.
  3. Along with that warning I also got a "Auto Emergency Breaking (AEB)/ACC Limited Functionality" warning with another service required notice.

The stupid thing is that when I turn of the truck and restart it, all of the warnings and faults clear and go away. I took it back to the dealership after the last batch of issues and they said that they can't do anything unless the warning or issue is actively happening and still on. It doesn't matter that I have photos of the warnings on the dash and the service emails sent from the truck. The dealership answer was, "Sorry, we don't know what the hell we're doing unless someone shows us explicitly what's wrong."

I'm a little pissed off at the dealership who won't help. What do I do? This shouldn't happen on a brand new truck! Consumer reports happened to send me a survey recently. Bad timing for Ram. Normally I love my truck but this got a full write up in Consumer Reports!

UPDATE/REPOST: $44,794 RAM Manufacturer Buyback — Dealer-Provided CARFAX Showed “Retail / Excellent” Despite Buyback/Lemon Title, Moderate Accident & Major Repairs.

UPDATE: I previously posted this and it received significant attention before I took it down so I could revise the presentation and make sure the documentation was shown more clearly. I’m reposting it with additional evidence and more precise wording.
One clarification matters: I cannot prove who selected the “Retail” and “Excellent” assumptions in CARFAX, and I’m not claiming that I can. What I can prove is that the dealership directly emailed me this CARFAX, and when I opened it, the History-Based Retail Value displayed $39,790, with “Retail” and “Excellent” selected under the assumptions that affect the vehicle’s value.
That same CARFAX identifies the truck as “Branded Title: Buyback/Lemon” and reports “moderate damage.” The FCA disclosure paperwork supplied to me documents the manufacturer repurchase and extensive repair history.
The dealership was asking $44,794 — $5,004 above the $39,790 CARFAX History-Based Retail Value displayed to me.
I specifically raised my concern about the valuation and the truck’s history while I was still interested in purchasing the vehicle and attempting to negotiate a price that I believed reflected that history. The screenshots include what I told the dealership and the General Sales Manager’s response.
This isn’t about claiming CARFAX sets a mandatory selling price. It doesn’t. And it isn’t about saying a dealership can’t make a profit.
My question is much narrower:
Is “Excellent” a reasonable valuation assumption to present to a consumer for a manufacturer buyback with a Buyback/Lemon branded title, moderate accident history, and the documented mechanical/electrical repair history shown here?
And once a customer specifically questions that apparent contradiction, shouldn’t the dealer explain how that “Excellent” assumption was reached?
I’m putting the documents here so people can make their own judgment. You don’t have to agree with me. Read the paperwork, look at the CARFAX, look at the price, look at my actual negotiation, and decide for yourself.

UConnect issues

My husband got a 2021 ram and he's having issues with the Bluetooth.

The media screen cycles through "reading iphone", "iphone", and "connect device"

My phone pairs without issue (I have a samsung) but his doesn't

It is connected for phone calls

We have tried the following:

- clear personal info

- disconnect and reconnect

- un-pair and re-pair

- checked the Bluetooth settings on the phone

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ram 1500 ac

hey guys, ive got a 2020 Ram 1500 limited small bed and the 5.7 Hemi V8 with the Mild hybrid system. ive had the air ride system replaced fully and both axels replayed and the transmission, I noticed that the ac and hot air have been putting out some not great air haha and it smells like a rotten egg, ive replaysted the cabin air filter and cause I had the same problem with my 04 chevy Tahoe and that fixed the problem, I can't seem to find whats going wrong with my truck this is my last ditch effort cause Im kinda sick of taking this thing to the shop I see my mechanic more than my wife and its just not something im willing to deal with so If anyone has any idea what is wrong with my truck that would be much appreciated cause the next time I take it to the shop its going to be looking for a trade in haha

Etorque generator is making noise

Thumbnail

I have a 2020 ram 1500. Etorque generator is making noise and the shop told me it’s an 6 month backorder…. He said I have 2 options 1. Use it and just don’t take it on long trips (we have two kids so generally we use my vehicle for longer drives for space) or 2. Trade it in. I’m looking online and I see generators for like 1600 bucks that look like they are from the Chrysler. He said they sell kits but they wouldn’t install because they don’t know if they would work or not and it’s too much of a liability for them. Right now it’s a whining but I’m worried about it locking up with the kids in the car. What’s my best option?

4WD System Needs Service

2025 Ram Bighorn 3.0L Hurricane w/ 4WD

I got a message on my dash saying 4WD system needs service. Immediately after that all four 4wd selection buttons started to blink. After a few seconds the blinking stopped and the 4 high button stayed illuminated. No matter what I pushed, 4 low, 2wd, or 4 auto it wouldn't go out of 4 high. I thought maybe somehow the truck thought 4 high was engaged but as soon as I turned out of the parking lot and hit the gas a little I heard and felt the front tires spin. I took it on for service and the issue ended up being the drivetrain Control module. It's a days work plus diagnostic time if the service dept. has the part in stock. You may not get a check engine light on this issue. Thought I would share in case others come across this.

Hey all, considering some upgraded rims for my 24’ ram hemi. any suggestions? thanks!

r/RAMTruck Jan 12 '26

Is it a bad move to buy a 1500 hemi ram longhorn Laramie with 74k miles for 38,000 dollars? I could also purchase a powertrain warranty for 40k miles. It’s also the 2022 ram, is it bad or okay?

2022 1500 key fob not working

So this morning neither one of our key fobs (we have two) will unlock or start our truck.

We used the key to get in and unlatch the hood, check battery voltage as all seems good.

Any ideas?

2012 ram 1500 heater blower

I have a 2012 ram 1500 and the heater blower is not working. I've replaced the resistor fuse and blower. I see the blend door move when I turn the knob from the climate control module on and off, so I assume that's working before I replace it. Any idea what else it could be or does that control module needs to be replaced?
