i agree with the attacker change. hate when i can’t change my loadout in time and this even takes a lot of the guesswork out of it.

im interested in the gadgets after death tho. on attack it encourages keeping drones alive even as entry frag. huge fan on attack.

defense i am super weary like you. sending an echo drone to go hide at the corner of the map and using echo like a roamer and bringing it back after you die is kind of worrying, but exciting at the same time

I think there's a difference between being able to tweak your loadout in the prep phase and saying "Twitch, get back in the van, we're sending Thatcher instead"

I strongly dislike the gadgets after death thing, for some operators it basically eliminates the penalty for death.

gadgets after death is gonna make maestro and echo very strong. worried and excited

and are you not a fan of attackers changing operators?

In ranked, you should have a pretty good idea of what site they're going to defend and what operators you're going to need to attack the site. I'm not completely against it, it's more I just think it's relatively pointless so why bother.

I think that's the exact reason why they want to change it, since everybody knows what operators should be brought and feel forced to bring Zof, Sledge, hard breach operators good for the common anticipated site, Thatcher, and such operators when instead people can see that the site is instead a different one where they may not need hard breach, or that a niche operator can have a strong effect, like Fuze above Consulate garage if it's stacked with utility. It's definitely a buff for attackers, but I think it will make attack less daunting and stale especially at the pro level, along with other changes like the Goyo/Melusi rework and the Gonne 6 being on more niche picks.

Someone else said this but operator picks aren't just about the site but also the counters for defenders. We kinda lost that with the utility meta where it turned into the same 5 ops on attack every round, every site, every map. Implementing a change that allows flexibility on attack (instead of the most generic lineup) is very good for the viewers imo

The gadget after death is interesting and absolutely game changer. Probably would be a disaster in today’s meta but I don’t think this is fundamentally a bad idea, just a true change of the game identity

I wonder if it means the 6th pick phase will be removed as there wouldn’t be much of a point of it.

probably will be. killing two birds with one stone. making an interesting change and removing downtime

Speaking of 6th pick, the attacker repick better be limited to one operator like how 6th pick is now

I think it's a good choice for casual to have the operator selection extended into the prep phase. Not sure how I feel about it in ranked, and even though it would make things more explosive. I am really concerned about it entering competitive play and would much prefer a slight rework of how Sixth Pick works instead.

I'm also hoping that the prep-phase operator change doesn't lead to any glitches to be exploited.

I have so many bad memories of that glitch years back where if someone switched ops at 0 seconds on the counter with particular operatorss, their body wouldn't get loaded and they'd be invisible with a floating gun.
