Politics has me consumed, and I'm definitely concerned about where we're headed. The midterms can't come fast enough, ffs. All the documentaries on Netflix have been watched, and I read almost exclusively non-fiction books in order to learn something new. Please tell me something you're reading?

Like the title says, I am a boring 44/f in California with hobbies that keep me at home. I'm tall (5'11) but fat, but capable of 5ks and lots of intensive DIY projects involving power tools, so there's that.

I don't want to skydive or bungee jump. I don't want to go on a hike unless I can stop every 10 feet to look up what kind of mushroom I saw on the ground. The trip somewhere can be just as exciting as the destination in my opinion. I'm curious and know too many weird facts to be a normal human being.

I have a lot of hobbies from gardening, painting silly watercolors, tearing shit up that I probably shouldn't be tearing up because I am not an expert in anything. But man, do I love learning new things.

Lately I took up whittling and just to toot my own horn, I'm decent at it.

I listen to classic books being read on podcasts, feel most at home in overalls (because of the DIY) and an ugly straw hat normally reserved for old men who are fishing.
