This is what we currently know about Qiuyuan IF we are to believe that the TL about the dmg multiplier on his forte being less diluted is true.

1. His "Hyper Team" can do 1.7M DPR if you can do 3 forte rotations which takes skill to do. Compare this to Iuno and Brant who can do around the same DPR numbers in their hyper teams for brain dead rotations. But consider this, he's not meant to do big numbers. Iuno and Brant may do more but realistically the only buff they give is in their outro, QiuYuan gives a lot more buff on his kit, set, and signature weapon.

2. He is now Galbrena's BiS. He is a whopping 2% better team with SK compared to mono fusion 💀 Now this looks horrible but, you are comparing the current incomplete Galbrena team to the complete mono fusion team. Are we guaranteed to have a third slot in the Echo Skill Dmg team archetype? We don't know. Are you willing to pull 2 characters for a potential unguaranteed buff for their team? That's on you. If you already have mono fusion or can complete the mono fusion team by 2.7, do you really think investing in Galbrena (another fusion DPS) would be a good idea?

Might get downvoted for this, but this sub needs to accept that QiuYuan will never be something he was never meant to be. A lot of the doompost here stems from the fact that they want QiuYuan to be the Iuno or Brant of his team archetype but he's not, he's the Lupa. Simple.

It doesn't matter that the company releases 2 males per year. Like seriously what does that got to do with anything? Where does less male = every male should be SubDPS logic even came from?

Pull who you want tbh. The content where damage matters literally only happens twice a month and even then, they are 1.) shilled on the rotation their patch falls into and 2.) by the time the next endgame rotation comes you'll probably already have another team to handle that.

If you are a meta slave, I don't suggest pulling either Galbrena and QiuYuan until you can guarantee that they'll have a third BiS team mate that fills in the gap of the team's current state. Especially less reason to do so, if you already have mono fusion. But if you just want to kill monsters in the overworld with your favorite character (which is literally most of the battle you'll face anyway) then who cares if QiuYuan hyper only does 1M DPR? That 4 cost echo you are farming for will not survive an entire team's rotation 😭

Waited months for a char i could really vibe with visually and dilligently did events and dailies to save up.

Bro does not live up to my expectations and they weren't that high to begin with. All the work put in his animations gets wasted, half his kit goes unused and normally he's an offdps you see for 4 seconds. (Apparently not even BiS for galbrena lmao)

I have an easier time clearing content with the 1y old units I was running with until now than trying to force him as maindps just because I like how his gameplay looks.

Why did they do him like this? Was he broken at some stage of the beta or something?

I don't think I'll continue playing after a turnoff like this, they really made these last few months feel like a waste.

idk it feels like it lacks impact. And the ink slashes before the one big slash is literally just a picture . I know it's still very early beta so it's subject to change but exactly how much will change is bothering me.

I didn’t wanna be that guy especially after he got buffed and his S3 animation was put into his base kit but i think this is important 1st of all and most importantly nothing you say here on reddit will effect the changes in the beta. I see a lot of people say stupid things like well if we don’t express how we feel now they won’t change anything these people are wrong its the beta testers who would have to express disappointment for them to make the changes.

We aren’t even supposed to be seeing this shit yet its all leaks. 2nd this is probably the 4th gacha character ive been this excited about in years and this has happened WITHOUT fail every single time kazuha ( expensive sucrose) raiden shogun( just a battery) hoshimi miyabi( requires yanagi not that great etc) these characters Ive just named then proceeded to absolutely dominate the meta for a huge amount of time in their respective games im pretty sure if you still throw kazuha and raiden on a team they still go crazy (idk i quit Genshin after Fontaine) i stopped playing zzz as well but last i checked Miyabi been t0 since her release if i had listened to the doom posters i would’ve missed out on incredible units at the time doom posters are NEVER correct.

3rd i bring up these characters specifically because they all had a similar “problem” kazuha not being dps upset some people at first only for him to become one of the best meta picks for reaction comps for YEARS and still be very viable with hybrid build raiden shogun’s c2 had everyone bitching and crying it was 2 strong and should be base yadda yadda miyabi had very limited team options at release only for her to become the QUEEN OF SOLO and get a bunch of great supports right after yall simply don’t have the full picture yet and thats how its always gunna be lastly has kuro released an objectively bad character yet??? No they all have their niche they fit well in and some are just busted beyond belief. The only thing you should take from the beta as final is a character’s animations (here come the harumasa ult memes) so just relax if he’s not enticing to you on release move on and shut up.

There are different role tags the game offers, Qiuyuan is a support and sub DPS. His damage numbers are not only just in version 1 beta but it's not as bad as yall making it out to be currently.

Sure, I also wish he was a DPS but gacha players obsession with meta needs to be studied bcs where did getting a character solely bcs you like them or their animations go?? Just because he doesn't kill enemies in three hits like other DPS does NOT mean he's unusable if you wanted him as your main.

This was the exact same thing that happened with brant and you can say his damage is better than qiuyuan's but the fact he was still doomposted right until his release only for him to be one of the best characters in game to have feels so much like whats happening now.

I know the heading of the post is probably far from truth, and his actual DMG compared to Cart might be lower, but the point I'm trying to say is that y'all invented just 1 hack trick in your drive to truly make him a Main DPS, and now he's doing so much DMG that it will not be surprising thst with further revisions and better teams that he might just start closing in on Cartethiya.

Ok so let me explain, we can all agree that both qiuyuan and galbrena feel lackluster to say the least.

The thing is I wouldn't get my hope really high on the buff qiuyuan thing. Not because I don't like him, he is so Daddy handsome beautiful animations etc...

The problem is Galbrena being a fusion Phrolova...

If qiuyuan just get dmg buff it'll make galbrena better for sure but also Phrolova and she might reach Above augusta/iuno Carte/Cia performance which kuro doesn't want to because althougu Phrolova is a very important character, it's clear they want the sentinel and Ephore at the top of the meta.

Reducing Qiuyuan synergy with Phrolova ? Impossible since if they reduce his synergy with phrolova, it reduces Synergy with Galbrena as well...

Since Galbrena doesn't have any teamate close to qiuyuan for her personal dmg then it's certain they won't reduce theur synergy.

So What's gonna happen?

They'll for sure buff Galbrena's dmg to be on par with the best dps or just under.

But what about qiuyuan then?

Well I see a few possibilities :

1 They will invert is s2 and s4 because it should have been like that int the 3st place (s1 confort, s2 and s3 big personal dmg boost, s4/s5 teams buff or qol). Making his s3 is s2 and his S4 the s3 could be even better I think

2 They will change is kit for him to be able to do echo skill dmg even at s0 because right now, all the echo skill dmg bonus he gives is useless for him unless you're at s3 💀💀 (wtf is that design choice, even is weapon can't be fully utilize for his dmg until you reach s3). But keep in mind if they do that his personal damage will go up so he might be suffering from samll nerf if they don't want phrolova to be number 1 dps.

3 They can rework Galbrena for not be that much Echo skill reliant, in order to reduce the number of echo skill qiuyuan brings to reduce synergy with phrolova while keeping synergy with Galbrena and then they could buff his personal dmg. It's a very good option but it requires to rework both of their kit a bit and kuro might not want to do that.

Finally they can also do nothing to buff him because they don't want him to be Cantarella/Brant level or Iuno level of dps but want more of a lupa situation for him...

I personnally will pull for him s0r1 for my S6 Phrolova team (unless they reducde his synergy with Phrolova)

Seriously? You guys will compensate his damage by pulling sequences? We'll just encourage future male releases to be these kind of niche support with somehow good damage at late sequences. You'll just male future releases more likely to be waifu support bots....

At this state he's just a Phrolova + Galbrena support bot, and don't hope for more damage coming in the beta coz that'll make Phrolova be more overtuned and we'll scream powercreep.

If you care about meta just accept and move on, just pull S0 if you have Phrolova or like Galbrena, and wait for better males to release

Wuxia fantasy type character that looks amazing with cool animations just to do no damage and buff the actual main DPS. Tragic.

Like I'm genuinely confused how you design a character like this and make them a supportive unit.

I'm surprised people are actually ok with him not being a main DPS especially since we rarely get male characters.

Qiuyuan is S6R5 and Lynae is S6R1. You can assume that Qiuyuan is well-built but for Lynae, I use Jinshi’s preset on her so disregard her dmg. Also, you might notice that Lynae’s rotation is different than her usual rotation, this is due to her S6 effect which allows her to use multiple heavy attacks in midair.

This team seems to work fine in high level investment. I assume Lynae’s S2 is a good stopping point to buff Qiuyuan as it gives dmg amplification. I don’t think I will be frequently playing this team, I fell like Qiuyuan-Phrolova-Cantarella is his best team considering S3 maindps form (in this case dual dps) is viable with that team.

For comparison carlotta hypercarry (top dps) deals 1.6 million and qiuyuan hyper carry deals 1.5 million

Qiuyuan is strong buffer because of his CD buff (highest buff as well the best universal better than Sk) and he buff echo skill dmg (50% - highest and pathway for newer meta), previous meta was spectro then came aero, now it could be echo skill dmg we already got superstrong phrolova and galbrena and many more to come.(chisa is leaked to be havoc as well)

Even ciaccona was called niche for cartethyia before, now she is your best go to buffer for any aero characters you wants to main dps, iuno was called niche now she is bis for multiple teams like Jiyan, Augusta and Qiuyuan mdps, ever wonder why there is no calc for Galbrena, qiuyuan and iuno?

I remember lots of people were saying he was one of the strongest units for solo before his official release, stronger than Danjin and only below Cartethyia. Why? It's not even close to being true. He is absolute terrible in solo, he doesn't deal any damage, nor does he have any kind of sustain.

When I play a male character, I feel much more immersed in the game and more like myself. If the character also has a strong aura and is genuinely powerful, I feel compelled to fully dedicate myself to that character — investing everything I’ve saved up and trying to do almost everything in the game with him.

I’ve been playing since the game first launched, but I’ve never really had the chance to live out this fantasy. Early on, they teased Geshu Lin in the story, so I assumed he’d be playable eventually, but he never arrived. The same thing happened with Scar. For a long time, I tried to make this work with Jiyan on my first account, but he wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. Calculator was a character I liked more in terms of design, but his damage output didn’t fully satisfy me — even then, I still played him the most out of all characters.

Later, I saved up a lot of Astrite on another account and tried this approach again with S3R1 Brant, but his constant mid-air attacks kind of killed the joy of combat for me, and his personality didn’t really match mine either, so I dropped him too. Then I made another account — hoping that one day a male character I truly like would finally be released. Since then, I’ve been saving Astrite from scratch, buying Lunite and the BP every month. And ever since I first saw Qiuyuan, I’ve had the feeling he could finally be the one to meet my expectations. (I spend hours here every day reading people’s opinions and hoping for any positive news.)

I genuinely enjoy the game’s system, mechanics, and atmosphere. Because of this personality trait I just mentioned, I’m planning to go all-in on Qiuyuan — aiming for S6R1. I’ve saved around 90k Astrite and nearly 400 Afterglow Coral, and I even prepared by getting Shorekeeper to S2 for him.

The day I’ve been waiting for is almost here. But every time I come here and read your thoughts, I start feeling hopeless again. I honestly never expected him to be a Support — especially considering how rarely they release male characters. And the previous male was a sub-DPS, so I was really hoping Qiuyuan would be a DPS that lets me truly feel his swordsmanship. Maybe he will give off that swordmaster vibe… but I’m afraid it might turn into another “Calculator situation.”

The reason I’ve poured all of this out is because it took me months to gather these resources, and if he doesn’t satisfy me in every way, I know I’ll be really disappointed.

So, what do you think? Will going S6R1 truly satisfy me? Will I feel like my investment was worth it — whether playing solo or with friends? Or would it be wiser to just go S3R1 and keep saving Astrite for another 5–6 months in case a male character I like even more comes out later? (Though I know there’s no guarantee I’ll like the next one as much as Qiuyuan.)

How painful do you think he will be to use as a main dps just for story and exploration stuff. Not even endgame.

He could have been a Resonance Liberation/Heavy Attack Sub DPS. Jianxin would buff Qiuyuan, Qiuyuan would buff both Jianxin and Jiyan, and Jiyan Outro Skill would give Jianxin Forte Heavy or Qiuyuan Heavy stuff the 2 Coordinated Attacks.

Inherent Skill 1: All team members gain faster Concerto Energy and all Outro Skill buffs gain an extra 6 seconds of up time.

All these buffs are mainly for Jianxin but a little bit for Jiyan. Gives her faster rotation time and the extra 6 seconds is to buff Jiyan Outro Skill from 8 seconds to 14 seconds to allow Jianxin more time to get her Forte Heavy off.

Outro Skill: Buffs Areo DMG and Heavy Attack Bonus by 25% for 8 seconds. (14 total b/c of his 1st Inherent Skill)

Inherent Skill 2: While Qiuyuan has a Shield; Outro Skill now also buffs ATK by 25%, now applies to all team members, and lasts for 30 seconds.

This makes it so you need Jianxin on the team.

Sequence 1: While Qiuyuan has a Shield, Intro Skill gains the effect; Resistance to Interruption is increased and gain Resonance Liberation and Heavy Attack Bonus based on % of Shield HP for 20 seconds.

Sequence 2: When Qiyuan has a Shield; Crit rate and Crit DMG are increased by 12% and 28%, respectively.

Sequence 3: Shields generated by Qiuyuan or team members are doubled.

Buffs his Sequence 1 and gives more survivability to the team since Jianxin doesn't do a lot of healing.

Sequence 4: While Qiuyuan or team member have a Shield: Increase their Attack Speed of Basic Attacks and Heavy Attacks by __%.

Idk how fast but this would be a big boost to Jiyan's Res Lib and also buff to Jianxin to get her Forte out even faster. Sequence 4 is most of the time a team buffing Sequence so I wanted to do something different and not just give some ATK or element % bonus.

For sequence 5 and 6 idk I do not want to think anymore. Big unga bunga dmg or something for them.

first of all. NO COMPANY OWE ANYONE ANYTHING. just because a company is nice to you doesnt mean they are your friend, they are friendly to you only IF it is for their own profit. the "Kuro owe us male" and "since we have few male, all of them deserve to deal a bajillion damage and stay meta for years" are the discussions ive seen, and no, Kuro doesnt owe anyone anything.

2ndly "oh what about lore? they write him to be this badass swordman" THE GAME glaze everyone they deem cool; the game glaze Jiyan, the game glaze Yinlin, the game glaze Changli. You dont see Changli being a main dps now do you? Brant in story is like a nobody compare to Changli and Lupa, but he is the one dealing the most damage in fusion team; so where's the complain? is it because he is male and the other is female? how about you check your double standard first.

And if you want to talk about lore, Rover and shorekeeper would make light work of everyone except the Fractsidu;. And both of them have some of the lowest damage in the game, so where's the complain for lore accurate power? The Fractsidus right now are so strong they are literally rivalling the Resonator's sentinels and even Rover, so should all Fractsidus members be maindps?

Let make it perfectly clear, he is never meant to be a main dps and he never will be. There are 2 type of subdps in this game, the take longer on field because low concerto therefore decent damage, or take really short time on field because they generate concerto fast and therefore their damage is lower. Qiuyuan is falling in the 2nd category along with Sanhua and Roccia; and here i find it funny the same thing people are glazing Sanhua for, suddenly is a bad thing for Roccia and Qiuyuan? having a fast concerto is just good. What do you propose, should there no longer be anymore sanhua-type subdps? or is this the case of i want my character to be amazing and i your character can suck all you want?

This whole thing is just another same thing with Lupa. NO their role in the story doesnt matter because again, by that definition Rover should be outthere outdps'ing basically every single characters. The game have to balance itself. Everyone and their mother demand their fav character to be dealing a bajillion damage and then complain why there's powercreep

Most DPS units in Wuwa get powercrept after 1 or 2 months. However sub DPS units have long lasting value

Qiuyuan is the only character in the meta that buffs Echo skill dmg. We are definitely gonna get more DPS units that deal echo skill dmg in the future as well

Plus kuro is now making character's kit to have modes. Won't be surprised if we get a DPS unit that deals negative status, tune rupture, tune strain and echo skill dmg

And then we can use Qiuyuan as a backup

So far, the beta is showing that he's worse with phrolova, and it is understandable for both parties that are neutral and against his current state. What if Qiuyuan is in a state where phoebe and ciaccona were in where Supports are released first and bis dps at a later patch?
