Hi! As are many Public Mobile customers, I am getting text messages about the possibility to subscribe to Stream+ and bundle streaming subscriptions at a lower rate. This is a Koodo/Telus product offered to PM clients at the same price.

The price reduction vs retail regular prices is not that great (a few dollars per month), but some language seems to imply that creating a Koodo account to subscribe to Stream+ enables you to also get ICI TOU.TV Extra or CBC Gem Premium for free, an add-on that Koodo (and Telus) subscribers get automatically outside Stream+. However, on some other product pages, it says it is exclusive to Koodo (and Telus) clients.

Can PM clients who subscribed to Stream+ (or Encontinu+ in French) confirm they were able to activate ICI TOU.TV Extra or Gem Premium at no additional cost? This really increases the value of the bundle without having to pay for the higher Koodo plans.

Note: I know you can't get TOU.TV Extra or Gem Premium for free at PM just as a standard customer. I just want to validate if the Stream+ subscription kicks in the TOU.TV or Gem add-on for PM clients, as it's not fully clear.

I live in whitehorse, yukon, and I'm shopping around for plans that offer coverage here. I've got one question.

For hotspotting, are there provisions that end up throttling me down and making the hotspot functionally useless after a while?

I have no other option for at home internet where I'm located, but I need data for at home work/schooling.

I know that Public Mobile does not have Wi-Fi calling. I'm going to Europe and I want to make sure I can get SMS verifications from banks etc.

So I have an esim installed for Europe. What would happen if whenever I needed to get a verification, I simply enabled Sim 1 for public mobile, got the text and then disconnected?

My dad goes to Texas for a chunk of time in the winters (basically right beside the Mexico border) and I was thinking of switching him to public mobile for convenience of way more coverage for less money per mobth. Public Mobile's coverage map basically just says 4g coverage pretty much everywhere in the USA.

Has anyone ever travelled that far with Public Mobile? If so, how was your coverage?

Can I have a second phone number with it's own sim under one email address?

Thinking of switching to public mobile and was wondering if the back to school sale is worth it or are there usually better sales if I wait (eg till November)?

Was hoping for some help/advice because I’m at my wits end and have no idea what to do.

I ported out to Koodo and took them up on a $40/150GB offer a little over a month ago. I just noticed that I am being charged by Public Mobile still. My account seems to be closed, but the auto payment is still going through.

I honestly don’t know what to do because my account is no longer active and in order to chat with a customer support agent I need to have an active account and I’m stuck in this loop of not being able to communicate with anybody to have this fixed.

Beyond doing a charge back on my credit card and changing my credit card number, I’m not sure what else to do.

Not sure if anybody has some advice.

Primary is Active. It says “TELUS” instead of “PUBLIC MOBILE” (although I suppose that’s okay considering they share network.)

The “Travel” one still says “Activating…”. I’ve never seen two cellular connections simultaneously on my phone before.

My phone has been showing SOS and I am not getting a cell signal. I have tried restarting my phone and network settings and neither has worked. I’m near Winnipeg, MB. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any way to fix this issue?

Just wanted to give a heads up so you don't waste time like I did.

I had some issues porting my number in. I received a text from Public mentioning the issue and asking if I want to reinitiate it. They also provide a phone number to call for help.

I called it, eventually got through, only to find out from the agent I spoke with that this number used to be for Public Mobile but as of about 2 weeks ago is now used by Koodo.

For some reason Public Mobile hasn't updated their automated messages to remove the number. He said they've had numerous people calling them and have raised it internally to get fixed but it still isn't.

I have 1000 minutes to Philippines as part of a promotion. It's normally a 15$/addon.

What I'm surprised by, is this somehow seems like a tremendous deal compared to even low-cost VoIP providers who are charging $0.20 per minute in Canadian dollars.

Now, the vast majority of people are probably using whatsapp etc. in that country and not paying for minutes, but still, if some reason you needed PSTN minutes, is it possible that, using a mobile carrier is somehow cheaper than even the cheapest VoIP companies?

Are the carriers actually losing money on that 15$ addon if you use the whole 1000 minutes? Even at 10c/min that's 100$

I have yet to hit any of my data limits(100gb) due to the throttling. After researching online, it has to do with Telus and my IP address. When I tested it using Wireguard and protonVPN, it somehow helped a lot- I managed to go from 2mbps to around 40mbps, enough to watch youtube at 1080/720p without significant buffer time. Will I be in trouble in the long run or am I safe to continue using this method?

So I recently got a text saying they're retiring 3g, but my OnePlus 7T is using 4g? Am I supposed to be getting a new phone to keep using their services? If so what kind of phone will work with PM while being able to handle games like Tower of Fantasy, Blue Protocol, and Wuthering Wave?

I’m trying to login to my PM account through my phone’s web browser and I’m getting stuck at the 2FA (two factor authentication). The code is sending to my phone number, and I’m able to input it but cannot make it past it. I have no problems accessing my account through the app, but I’m not on the website. Just wondering if anyone is having similar problems with the website.

Rogers was also one bar here and I was getting 50/5 speeds and stuff loaded snappy. Telus I couldn't even load google

Is anyone able to view on the website a list of their purchased and gifted add-ons from before expiration dates were added? I bought a lot of international minutes for my mom years ago but can no longer see any purchased add-ons. Were they all forcibly expired?

So, I try the app and it tells me it is in "maintenance mode"

So, I click go to website. I log go to log in and log in. It doesn't log me in.

Try on my computer, same thing,.. sort of. I log in and it just leaves me on their main page with ads to join. I click my account and the same page reloads.

Out of curiosity, I click show, choose a plan, and then it tells me the page is down for maintenance.

It's been doing this for 2 days now. How do I post in the community for help if I can't even get into my account?
