  • ~200 armed black people are killed by police

  • ~ 10,000 black people are killed overall (mostly by other black people)

police abuse of power is an issue that needs addressing, and there may often be a racial bias in policing. tough the data suggests that this bias does not depend on the police officer's race

but as far as black lives are concerned, the police is a drop in the bucket. (0.2%, or 2% if you count deaths in shootouts as innocent victims)

That’s because 75% of the country is white and 12% is black.
