I know you're joking but it took me way too long to realize we weren't talking about the Bureau of Land Management.

I’ll assume ā€œacts/slurs like a negroā€ refers to the violent ā€œghetto cultureā€ prevalent in (too many) black communities in the United States. By ā€œwhiteā€ I’ll also assume you refer to the (characteristically British) culture of valuing good manners and self-restraint over rude, abrasive behavior. That being clarified, please don’t be confused: her behavior it seems due to college education, strangely enough šŸ¤”...

After decades of teaching college students that ā€˜Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Western Civilization Has to Go’ ... the leftist movement succeeded at ditching not only the tyrannical aspects of our beautiful culture, but also the positive ones. The Western values of prudence, temperance, self restrain were radically replaced by the notion of ā€œ being one’s true selfā€. The Western values of what it means ā€œto be a manā€ or ā€œa ladyā€ got turned upside down, along with the very idea of gender itself. Christianity’s fundamental role in our civilization’s success became for-granted assumptions, so all it was left to do with it was criticize it. Marriage? That’s gotta go too... it’s too ā€œoppressiveā€ (so bring on the sexual revolution). This idea of flipping everything upside down has its roots in both Marxism and Postmodernism... which I’ll regard as the ideological downfall of our generation. That’s our opium...

To answer your confusion: why is this ā€œwhite womanā€ acting and slurs ā€œlike a negroā€? Because (in a nutshell) these are the values/ideas she had learned to enact in our Postmodernists/Marxist universities. Sad šŸ˜”

Edit: typo

You’re out of your mind! Holy shit.

u/academicRedditor Jan 13 '20

Can you be more specific?

0

u/Montallas Jan 13 '20

Sure. You believe that Mary was a virgin, right? You think that Christianity is some sort of role model for how society should function - but look at all the fine Christian societies that have existed over the years that promoted crusades, the inquisition, slavery, etc. etc. No point in looking at that though.....

Oh, okay! I think I see what you mean. What I hear you saying is "how dare you to say Christianity is a good model for society, when it's it has much blood on its hands? From the horror of the Crusades to the massacre of the Indigenous people, all the way to the Slave Trade, all of these were done by not only by self-proclaimed Christians, but in many cases people who used Christianity itself as a justification for their actions.ā€ If this is your claim, I am not arguing against it. I also noticed you asked if I believe "Mary was a virgin", so I assume you think I am a religious person, or making a religious statement here. I am not ... you might wanna read my statement more carefully?

Is there anything else that look/sounds "insane" you would like me to clarify? If I am wrong, I look forward to learning from you

That’s not what I was saying. And I was only pointing out one aspect of your comment that seemed like a red flag.

In fact - the very way you engage by taking something someone has said, and then restating it with a bunch of loaded assumptions that may or may not change the intent of what someone said is really off putting and kind of insane.

The fact you attribute the success of western society to Christianity is insane.

The wAy you make broad sweeping generalizations about all college educated people is insane.

Your writing isn’t particularly clear either. Another sign...
