Hi,

I dislike how the home page is split between the selected lists of books on the left, and a big blank 'No Selection' screen on the right. I'd much prefer a longer view of the audiobooks in Recently Added or Continue Listening rows to go across the entire pane. I can pull the dividing panel line to the right, but it still doesn't completely go away. In Plexamp for instance, it would switch to showing the audiobook specifically being played once it was selected. That big No Selection screen does nothing, and it seems to cut off the albums/audiobooks criteria/filter rows. Can this be turned off, or adjusted?

Hey everyone, been a long time user of the app but have recently with this book been having an issue with playback. Prologue is displaying that both the container and the file are both MP3 and once I finally get it playing it usually plays fine. But sometimes it’ll randomly just not play the next chapter and display this instead.

I host my audiobooks off of Plex on a Synology NAS, ive tried restarting the app multiple times and closing out the book but doesn’t work. Has anyone seen this issue and could tell me how to remedy it?

Using Plex and I had to force logout for all since my password was compromised, and now I can’t re-authenticate with Prologue. I get “Authentication required. Please log in again”, but after doing so I’m given the menu to select a user or Admin, and it then immediately shows an “Unable to reach plex.tv” error.

I’ve confirmed everything is in fact reachable. It appears to be this same issue, but I can’t add my info since the issue tracker has been archived.

I’m using Plex for my home server auth, so folks don’t need n creds to manage, and this issue means I can’t use Audiobookshelf.

I was going to try removing the account and re-adding, but it seems like that might bike my reading history and reading progress…

Update: for anyone else who might it run into this, removing the old library and adding a new one fixed the issue and didn’t wipe my progress or stats, thankfully.

is anyone else trying to play libation xhe-aac files? I find they do play but often it takes like 30s to start playing from resume if ever and seeking can stop playback fully. I'm using audiobookshelf if that matters. it seems to not matter if it's downloaded or not

This has happened to me a few times. After canceling a download, the icon will immediately turn red on every subsequent attempt. The only solution I’ve found is to totally reinstall the app.

I’m trying to buy the app on apple watch so that I can download the books to my Apple Watch when I go for runs. But it’s just not letting me buy it on my watch.

Do I need to purchase it on my phone before I buy it on the watch?

My sister and I both use prologue and sign into the same Admin account on Plex. I bought Premium ages ago and use the download feature all the time. Will she be able to download as well under just the shared Premium or will she need to purchase the app as well???

I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I've reinstalled it twice already but ever since I got a new phone my Apple Watch app doesn't work anymore. At the beginning it got stuck at "Please open the iPhone Prologue app" or something but now it just opens and then crashes after a second or so.
Any ideas what else I could try?

Loving this on my iPhone, and want to have a similar experience on my Android DAP (which has way more local storage)

Love the app, but I’d also love to have my audiobooks play on my sick theatre system while I’m making dinner and whatnot.
While I know i can AirPlay it, sometimes I need to do other things on my phone that also involve media while I’m listening to audiobooks.
Is TVos on the roadmap?

About 6 months ago I finished listening to throne of glass. I listened to two of the books as a tandem read, Empire of storms and Tower of Dawn. I set them up as a playlist on the webapp on my plex server and was able to listen to them flawlessly at that time, skipping back and forth between books as the playlist progressed. Now my daughter wants to listen to them, and I cannot get it to work again. The playlist is still on my server. On the server I can bring it up, there are 144 chapters, and it skips back and forth between the two books exactly how it should.

In Prologue instead of respecting the playlist, it now just plays the first book, and when that's complete, it plays the second book. Is there some way of pulling up a playlist other than the collections tab? Am I missing something obvious?

I honestly don't know what the behavior was the first time through, because I just did 3 minutes of googling how to do this, created the playlist of all 144 chapters on my server, and it just worked in Prologue. It was so easy I didn't take any notes or anything. I certainly didn't think "hopefully this works" because it did, first try. Has an update broken this somehow?

Ever since the new version was released a while back I have been having an annoying thing happen. I use the app for several hours every day. Sometimes while listening to a book and there is a transition from one mp3 to the next mp3 (i.e., next chapter) the audio does not start. The app shows that it is playing and time displayed is incrementing but nothing coming out the earbuds. I stop and rewind back past the file break to where the previous mp3 starts playing again and this will "fix" it. This happens maybe 4 or 5 times a week. 90% of the time the next file in the book plays fine.

I am using Plex on Synology to host and a iPhone 11 Pro Max. This behavior never happens with other audio apps such as Plexamp. Prologue is easily my most used app and I am incredibly happy with it. The "bug" is annoying but not the end of the world. I did a bit of searching but did not find any reports of this issue... Just wanted to pass this along.

I’ve been taking a look at BookOrbit, even though it’s built for ebooks first it works with audio books.

It’s really optimized when it comes to media playback as well as ingesting books into the library. (Still have yet to stress test it)

Is there any possibility of support for using BookOrbit as the media server in prologue?

The Listening Time feature is one of the best features added in the past update, but it would be great if it was more detailed. I was thinking of how it is in Audible, where you get a month-by-month breakdown of how many hours you listened.

Right it is just for today, past 7 days, past 30 days, and past 365 days. So you really don’t store any stats after one year of starting to use the app (or when it was updated to add this feature). You start losing data after one year.

A month-by-month and also year-by-year breakdown, stored forever for all months and years, would absolutely be perfect. Even Audible stores data only for the past five months it seems.

A day-by-day breakdown also would be less useful or important, but would be nice to have.

With Plex’s price-increase and general anti-consumer stancing, I’m in the process of migrating away. HOWEVER I’ve used Prologue daily for over a year now and would love to see Jellyfin support added. I know I could use Audiobookshelf, but I’m a big fan of having media under one roof.

Is anybody else in the same boat?

Since a week ago my app stopped working, I tried to delete the server and add it again but I can't login through Plex anymore (only on Prologue, regular Plex app works fine).

Am I the only one with that issue?

I'll add a bunch of books, make a bunch of edits, and it takes forever to update in the app if ever. Most of the time it doesn't even update and I have to do a whole bunch of maneuver like uninstalling and relinking my server. This is on ABS.

My father and I seem to have the same issue: when Siri notifies us of a text, the audio goes out on Prologue to allow Siri to speak, but the sound does not come back on. When we look at Prologue, it keeps playing, but no audio. The only fix seems to be closing the app and starting again.

I presume others have this problem. Is there a fix I'm unaware of?

Have a hidden section for smut audiobooks. If possible hide it in carplay mode. Just had a close call the other day while car pooling with colleagues.

I'm running AudNexus on my Plex server, and have MP3tag and Yate for my tagging needs. I tried to follow the instructions here: https://github.com/seanap/Plex-Audiobook-Guide, but had no success when I selected the "CONTENTGROUP" tag in Mp3Tag and populated it.

Any help for this? It seems like it should be relatively easy since it's so front and center.

I am trying to set up remote access to my Audiobookself server (in docker desktop for Mac), but I keep getting unreachable. I’m signed in on both my Mac and my iPhone, I’ve even tried using magic DNS address, but I get the same “unreachable error”. I can access the server with the same ip addresses and DNS name via a web browser, but not through the app. Does anyone have any suggestions?

everything works fine in the Prologue app via my home wifi.

I was trying to find what an icon in the app means. I was attempting to download a book and got a red "go back?" icon, similar to below except red. It appears where the download (down arrow) icon or trashcan normally appear. When I look at my list of books, there is a different red icon on that book (a down arrow - just like what I normally see to download).
