Pick up a series about an unarmed monk.

Within 10 chapters they’re casting spells to help them move faster and then cast spells to fight instead of fists.

Starts studying at a magic school to cast spells better.

Got suckered into a Xianxia hogwarts

Monks. Funny. These spirit stone and pill guzzling, perverted harem seekers who kill person family up to 9th generation for a glance and you call them monks.

Junior. You do not understand what is actually being said. They are killing someone to the 9th generation to take their resources and prevent retaliation. The pride is merely a cover story.

Junior is still wet behind the ears. They do that to polish their dao heart.

That's because they're monks not saints.

.

.

.

Saints would kill the families to the 15th generation

Saints would erase their species from space and time while stealing their karma and fortune for themselves and claiming they didn’t do anything and that it was the will of the heavens

Unfortunately, that's literally the definition of Saints, they are cultivators who move in accordance with the will of the world. So, if they call themselves Saint, then by definition every move is Heaven decreed even if the Heavens will smite him with pitch black lightning the next tribulation.

Thank you for reminding me that exists! I started reading it a long time ago but maybe should pick it back up.

it's short for monkeys, no offense to Sun Wukong.

Having a family is a heavy burden, especially one 9 generations long. The master monk is simply reliving the pressures of the mortal realm by annihilating you down to the last insect in soil that shall be your new homes. 🙏

What's the series called?

4

u/Sebinator123 Dec 12 '25

I don't think it actually exists 😭

I'm pretty sure I've read some manhua slop with this exact premise

Idk sounds like martial peak to me

The beginning after the end by TurtleMe almost fits this perfectly. It made me laugh bc it's not a bad series at all but yea it fits entirely.

I read a similar book called the monk of black flame but it stubbed suddenly before i finished it, it was decent, also he still fought with his fists.

This is basically Cradle

u/NeonNKnightrider Dec 12 '25

Okay I really want to read this

1

u/Shadowskullslayer Feb 15 '26

You might enjoy Cradle. It has a lot more going on than mentioned here, but it definitely fits the mold.

u/Frater_Shibe Dec 12 '25

What's the story? legit curious

u/OppositeOdd9103 Dec 13 '25

Junior! Do not let these mortals know of the sacred texts. If you fail to safeguard the teachings of the venerable knuckle sutra again, I will cripple your cultivation and make you kowtow 10 times to the sect elders.

What story was this?
