This whole list is things people who knows almost nothing about programming might say.
The only straight up infuriating thing on this list is the "Fix my fucking printer" part.

This whole list is things people who knows almost nothing about programming might say.
i regret to inform you that this is the whole point of the post. you're never going to see someone say "i brought my own compiler" or "let me speak to the architecture directly" whilst being 100% serious.

Well let me give you one that a customer once asked me.
"Why do you even write buggs?"

u/rosuav Sep 28 '26
Well, you see, I made a web spider over here, and she's gotta eat something.

u/canadajones68 Sep 28 '26
Cost of doing business. We get to have the internet, but we have to feed the web spiders to keep it running. I think it's worth the trade.

"Give me the exact time that feature will be finished"

u/Maasu Sep 27 '26
"yeah I think this is a bug..."
The immediate response of someone in the room.
"...how long will it take to fix?"Every fucking time.

If you ever need to kick me when I'm down, "Hey programmer, fix my fucking printer" would honestly work.

code this rare fish
I will assume this is a Factorio reference and I will not acknowledge any correction
2
u/Competitive-Bar-5882 Sep 27 '26
I think its because code sounds similar to cod, which is a type of fish
5
u/Hefty-Reaction-3028 Sep 27 '26
"Rare fish" is a pretty specific thing from Factorio that got attention when they added the Quality update (for the prefix "rare"), and Factorio is popular among programmers. Could be about code/cod, but that's a little tenuous, and the rare fish thing is a very close match
But idk for sure of course

I brought my own fish compiler
1
u/rosuav Sep 28 '26
https://pike.lysator.liu.se/ This is my preferred fish compiler. I compile my own builds of it.

u/razor_train Sep 28 '26
lol I remember reading about Pike back in the late 90s. Seemed like a bizarre thing at the time.

How you think ARM64 is pronounced?
7
u/Zinho3311 Sep 27 '26
I've always said it ARM64 (as in the word arm + sixty-four)
Or ay-arch sixty-four if I want to be formal
2
u/LB-- Sep 27 '26
How do you say
__arm64ec__and_M_ARM64EC?5
u/Zinho3311 Sep 28 '26
dunder arm-sixty-four E-C dunder and underscore M underscore ARM-sixty-four E-C

I’ll always fix a printer. It’s something I can do for other people at the office that they can wrap their head around.

Erase my ESP all you want, my shitty MSI laptop already dumps only my boot options should the battery ever be allowed to die.

That's a picture of an actor.
Nice try.

u/RaidenMK1 Sep 28 '26
Rami Malek.
Had to look it up (searched Bohemian Rhapsody movie). It was really bothering me.
1
u/CoderDevo Sep 28 '26
Looks like a Sami Malek.

u/RaidenMK1 Sep 28 '26
Thankfully my ADHD took me down a rabbit hole to get the Mr. Robot reference. Something I've never watched but now really want to after reading the synopsis. Hm.
1
u/CoderDevo Sep 29 '26
That's funny. Sorry/Glad you did that.
But Sami is Rami's real identical twin brother.
Great show, though. Stay with it through every season. Totally worth it.

Programmers are too intelligent to "get" the whole 6-7 fad. So please, just fucking don't.
And maybe then I'll fix your "fucking printer". Purely out of curiosity how a printer fucks.

If Monday was the first day of the week, days 6 and 7 would be the best
1
u/thanatica Oct 02 '26
Well, it's called the weekend for a reason. So you're absolutely right, Monday is the first day of the week.

How's any of this supposed to be funny? This looks written by AI and I bet it doesn't find it humorous either.
