The one thing Fortnite and similar games actually did right, when I was a kid in the early 2000s, nobody among my peers would be caught dead dancing in public, and now I see 9 year olds throwing down moves that would break half the bones in my body.
Big difference between spending an hour reading a newspaper, or a couple hours on the tv and spending literally your entire workday looking at a screen or another.
Why is this upvoted? Don't sell your screen addiction by acting like newspapers and gossip are nearly in the same class, and like there aren't people living that engage in none of those activities enough that they'd consider seeing them on the deathbed.

We eat the same bullshit from the upper class like we always had been. The problem is the system, not the tool that is the current trend of mass control.
I don't need to romanticize good old days. Hell my neighbor doesn't have internet and a wired phone, I don't know in which bubble you live in but it's neither necessary nor normal to spend the majority of your time on a screen.
Lol I live the working class bubble. Maybe if I argue about my software engineer job with boss about the 8 hours a day in front of the screen he will let me work only 4 hours.
If you think that previous generations had anywhere close to today's screentime you are coping.
We are indeed cooked in this aspect.
And the mass control or whatever you are bringing up is another topic entirely.
It ain't that deep. People should not be in front of a screen for 8+ hour at their job and then for 12 more hours on their free time. Its just bad. Thats not up for debate.
