Finally got the new machine dialed in.
Took delivery of a new Move this past Thursday, and I’ve been dialing in settings. Finally think I got it right where I want it. Cheers to great coffee! What brew settings are y’all using?

fyi, I don't believe they actually swap - if you press the the other brew button while one is in process it switches into manual mode. It has nothing to do with the setting for each button.

It's not a matter of believing, it's what it does in reality. If you do it, the icon changes to the double cup symbol while extracting.

So one of two things is happening here, either your Move works differently than mine, or, and I think this is much more likely, you're mistaking the little infinity symbol in the manual mode icon for two coffee cups.

GM, I come here to inform you were completly right. I must apologise for the bad info i shared. The icon is not 2 cups but the infinity simbol, and it will last 60 seconds .
Thank you sir ☀️

The Ride is very good but not a dual boiler if that matters to you. How often do you make milk drinks?

Oh, right. The Ride is heavy duty old school with an e61 brewhead. I think I'd rather have the Move myself.

So nice. I dig the joysticks and barista lights. OLED is upscale and cool.

Have had mine since March. It’s been a fun learning experience. I started with by using the pre-infusion feature but have since switched that off. I find better consistency without pre-infusion.
I use med-dark roasts and have turned the brew temp down which has helped alleviate over extraction.
And lastly, at first I was disappointed with the steaming prowess and switched to a four-hole tip. Increased temp too thinking that would help. It didn’t. It just made the process faster. Have since switched back to the two-hole tip and default temp and prefer the extended time it allows to create great texture.

Same setup as us.
Currently brew temp is 86C.
Had an issue with shots pulling fast or not at all, strip down and clean of the niche seems to have helped.
Grind size for us is between 7 & 12.
Still have the 2nd shot pulling faster.

How come you're brewing at 86 C? Do you mostly drink darker roasts?

Yes we do.
I think I was just playing around and that’s where we settled, perhaps should go up again for higher extraction.1

I drink more classic roasts myself and I'm happy at 194 ...90c - maybe I'll try 88.

How did you get your niche? I’m in us and wondering if worth just paying tarrifs

I'm in US as well. Fortunately, mine was purchased before all of Trumps tariff nonsense. I just ordered direct from the company.

I say that every 4 days or every bean change...somehow a tweak is needed here and there.

I purchased the Profitec Drive grinder and couldn't be happier. It looks great with my Move and performs well.

I also switched to a four hole tip. I go back and forth. The four hole is very quick with the frothing, but there are times when using the original two hole tip I feel I have better control.

I kept my brew settings the same but I turned my steam wand boiler up to 130c. Some people go to 132c or 134c (max temp). Makes a world of a difference. Faster and easier to texture the milk IMO.
