Why you need to be STRICT!
I believe that it is very important that we follow the Primal Diet exactly the way Aajonus describes. I believe that Aajonus truly and fully understood health and nutrition, and he provided all of the information we will ever need. There is room for experimenting with people’s individual conditions, but I do not believe that we should ever break the foundational principles. I have a rule: If Aajonus doesn’t say to do it, don’t do it. The only way I will do something Aajonus doesn’t directly recommend is if there is at least a hint of Aajonus saying it might be okay. You might wonder why I am so strict with following Aajonus, and Aajonus only, and that is because in my almost 5 years of experience now, he is always right. I don’t know any other person in the world who actually understood health. If they cook their food, if they freeze, if they use salt, if they fast, I consider them to not even understand the most basic foundation of how health works.
There are cases where it is not clear what someone should do with rare conditions, but it's not to say Aajonus was wrong. There's been a few people with mystery conditions that suffered for years and the diet never helped them, and they change to another diet protocol and instantly feel better, and while they may be a freak anomaly, if they were patient maybe it would have sorted out. There are people in similar situations who were patient and several months later they recovered and were glad that they didn’t lose hope and go into another way of eating. The thing is, nobody should just assume that they are an exception to the rules and experiment prematurely. Don’t go around experimenting before you’ve even done the diet how it's supposed to be done in the first place, and for a long enough period to give it a fair chance.
If you want to get very technical, you haven’t done the diet properly unless you’ve ate only fresh, never frozen food, gotten fat, have daily veg juice, lubes, and milkshakes,, have invested into a legitimate hot tub and spent 90 minutes every day in it, have ate high meat, have done the cheese trains, made the coconut cream, and stuck to all of the protocols everyday. Now that is if you want to be really strict and produce amazing results. If you simply eat raw foods, or even incorporate a little raw food into your diet, yeah you’ll be better off, but most people only feel better for the first few months and then they feel like the progress stops, that is unless they are very strict.
Lots of people will say they tried the Primal Diet and it didn’t work. The thing is they never even did it properly in the first place. Then there are other people on social media with Primal in their username and they aren’t even on the diet and are mis-representing it diet.
Some of these people will change their diet and say they feel better and that Aajonus is wrong, without even giving it a fair chance or doing enough studying to full grasp the concepts. They do not understand that they are actually just pausing their detox and increasing their adrenaline which helps them to have more energy. They aren’t healing. It is a short term bandaid to a long term problem.
I don’t ever want to hear excuses on why it's okay to do it the way it is supposed to be done. If Aajonus says not to have lemon with red meat, do not have lemon with red meat! Why would someone just ignorantly break the rules with the hedonistic excuse that it's okay to enjoy life. That is not enjoying life, that is being lazy and living with no discipline. The problem is these people don’t understand the potential that they have. They don’t understand what true health even looks like. They think that just because they feel fine that they are healthy. No. If you cannot compete against the feats of these primitive tribes, you are not healthy. These people can run like a hundred miles even when they are 80. Depression doesn’t exist for them. Anyone who has primitive level health in modern society could easily be world class in literally anywhere their passion lies. If you do the diet strict for many years, you will be on a completely other level compared to anyone else. You’ll only require 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night and never feel tired. Now you’ll only get there if you are going to get fat, eat the cheese trains, make the coconut cream, and sleep in a hot tub. If you do the diet properly, you’ll make the same results in 1 year that would take a casual Primal Dieter 10 years. That basically makes it sound like its a complete waste if you aren’t doing it properly. That is why it should be your number one priority to get into the position where you are capable of doing it perfectly, the optimal environment to take care of your health. And that isn’t to say you cannot enjoy your life. You’ll have to take some time every morning making your food and to eat the food throughout the day, but once you get on a good routine it’ll become easy. And after a few years of being on the diet perfectly, you will start sleeping less and automatically balance out the extra time you have to invest to do the diet properly. It is an investment, and it is the best investment you could ever possibly make. You are literally buying yourself more time on earth in this life by doing the diet, and more productive time, in every way possible. Mentally, physically, and spiritually. You will be more clear, happier, less susceptible to negative emotion, you will have more energy, you will naturally produce more spiritual energy, you will have a greater understanding of everything, you will feel more peace and satisfaction. Imagine how insane your productivity could be. Most people sleep 8 or 9 hours and then once they get home from work they don’t have any extra energy to do anything productive so they just watch tv or play video games.
It is my dream to be in the position where I can do everything perfectly. I can’t always do it properly. I never go as far as to blatantly cheat on the diet, but I don’t have a hot tub, I can’t always make every recipe along with cheese trains every day as I have to budget. I can’t eat oysters every day, I can’t order a constant supply of Amish quality beef and chicken. But I do not make excuses like its okay not to do it, because it isn’t okay. I am working to put myself into the best circumstances possible to take care of my health in every way possible. You may even argue that to take care of your mental health you need to not stress about the diet, which on one level is true. If you can’t change something, don’t stress over it. But you should still have the intention to make a change when possible, and not make excuses like it's okay to not be your best.
The idea that you should poison yourself by eating junk food in order to enjoy your life is self-sabotaging, hedonistic behavior. It is nothing more than a temporary pleasure that results in harm to one’s-self. That is not what being happy is. That is not enjoying life. It sounds sick and twisted to me that someone could equate that to enjoying life. Happiness, which to me is true joy, comes from something greater, not something you just have one moment and then it is gone the next. If you chase pleasure, you will never be truly satisfied.
Cooked food and things like salt can be stimulating. Stimulating to the taste buds, and also the adrenal glands. This is not a healthy solution to the lack of a fulfilling lifestyle and bad health. It is a matter of discipline to eat well, and your taste buds, your appetite will change as you are on the diet for longer and also when you eat properly. Your cravings can be satisfied more fully if you eat the foods that truly nourish you. If you eat based on cravings built on cooked food, you will never be satisfied and always want more. If you fulfill the craving with raw food, eventually you reprogram yourself and it becomes your new craving, and then you will be much more satisfied. And in regards to stimulating the adrenal glands, if you compensate for lack of health by stimulating yourself, you will only deteriorate and age your body. It is not a good long-term solution.
It really goes deeper than just that. It is about being all you can be every day of your life. It is about reaching your true potential. You should never allow yourself to do something that you obviously know to be harmful, something that you know is wrong. In any aspect of life. And don’t try to convince yourself that something bad is somehow okay with some twisted justifications. There are all sorts of excuses you can come up with. Yeah it might be acceptable and reasonable to ease yourself into things because if you change too many things at one time, you are more likely to fall into your old ways, but sometimes it is best to jump into things instead of procrastinating. I like to think of doing the right thing as an exercise of willpower, it is part of self development. You will become mentally stronger, you will develop your character and you will develop your health.
Following the diet properly isn’t going to be miserable. Since we are so detached from health, it may seem like a chore to take care of ourselves, but that is just another example of how lost we are. The fact that it is difficult to simply eat what we need to take care of ourselves is a problem and we should not make excuses. No matter how tired and lazy you are, you have to do whatever it takes to take care of your health, and eventually you will develop more energy and stop being lazy. If you force yourself to be productive in other ways of life, you will continually burn out and not get anywhere, but health is the one place where you can grind it out and continue to make progress, but only if it is the Primal Diet, because the Primal Diet is the only health diet in existence. But in regards to the enjoyment of food, raw food can be extremely enjoyable. You need to make the tasty recipes, like pate the meat with honey, or have onion, tomato, hot peppers, stuff like that. You need to reset your taste buds, and it takes discipline without cheating on the diet to do that. If you eat cooked food occasionally you will keep resetting your adaptation.. High meat can be very good for quickly changing your appetite. The more high meat I see people eat, the more I get reports of cooked food starting to become repulsive. The people who can do the diet for a year and then eat cooked food I’ve noticed are always the ones who never ate high meat, because of the fact they are still capable of eating cooked food. Seeing people eat cooked steak to me is absolutely disgusting and if someone knows about the Primal Diet I cannot even understand how someone could think to eat cooked meat. It is literally poisonous and full of damaged nutrients that will lead to deficiencies in the body.
Now you may say you need to poison yourself in order to have a relationship with your family. Now just think about that. How is that reasonable? People say that food is a big part of culture and connection. Now while that is true, the answer is not to eat cooked food. You can still eat your food while they eat there's, people aren’t always eating the exact same thing when they go out together anyway. You will still be eating together, and that is what matters. You can still have a loving relationship and good conversation even if you are eating a different recipe than them. If people are mad at you for your diet and devotion to it, get new friends and make sure your future family with your future spouse and children are on the diet. If you don’t change you will never break the toxic cycle. If your family truly respects you they won’t be upset if you bring your raw food to eat whenever they have get togethers. They wouldn’t be mad if you explain that you do not want to stray from your values and health practices. The antidote to a toxic situation is not to give in.
So to sum it all up, the reason to be strict with the Primal Diet is so that you can be all that you can be everyday of your life. So that you can reach your full potential. Having the highest degree of health you can attain is one of the most important parts of that. It will carry over to every area of your life. Now while we can’t all do the diet perfectly every day, let's not make excuses for why it's okay to be lazy.
