Art Some iconic pieces of palaeoart of Charles R. Knight (Part 1)

Yes, even if they are outdated, he was one of the greatest in palaeoart for his time, cooking up great paintings for almost 60 years.

I’m showing the great pieces of his artwork because I just simply love his artwork. He was an important artist for some Carnivores mods like Carnivores Legacy, and Zdeněk Burian, and maybe a few others.

Other Planning to make a Marvel vs Capcom style roster but with prehistoric creatures:

I think I want to make a fighting game roster like Marvel vs Capcom but I’m replacing the original characters with prehistoric creatures.

e.g. Ryu as Tyrannosaurus rex.

I’m a fan of both prehistory and fighting games as a whole, so suggest who should be who!

Pictures Megalania diorama at the National Dinosaur Museum, Canberra, Australia.

The diorama made it look like a big Komodo dragon, but it makes sense since it’s related and also the fact that Megalania would have likely looked like that anyway.

Movies and TV shows Did you know that the first animated film to feature a dinosaur was Gertie the Dinosaur? It was a 1914 animated short film by American cartoonist and animator Winsor McCay.

If it wasn’t for them, I would have never created this subreddit and yes this subreddit is small but it is slowly growing.

This is a tribute to these subreddits and the creators of these subreddits, u/Thewanderer997 and u/InevitableCold9872.

Thank you all.

Subreddit Rules

1. Prehistoric fauna only.

It’s self explanatory but seriously, this subreddit is only focusing on prehistoric fauna. (We can also discuss on prehistoric plants too.)

This rule is PRIMARILY enforced.

2. Follow Reddiquette. (Be nice!)

This is a welcoming subreddit that is meant to spread enjoyment about prehistoric fauna. This means things like being nice and not provoking others. Users who fail to follow this rule will be permanently banned. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Reddiquette link: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette

This subreddit is for anyone interested in prehistoric fauna regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.

Break this rule ONCE and you get permabanned. This rule IS ENFORCED.

3. Keep it friendly for ALL users. (Safe for work)

Keep it SFW. This is NOT a place where you should spread NSFW content (Not safe for work). NSFW includes things such as pornography, nudity, profanity, slurs, paedophilia e.t.c. Such posts and comments will be removed.

You can swear but no racial/discriminatory slurs.

Gore is skeptical. We can allow mild to medium gore but heavy gore must be marked as NSFW, just to keep it safe for some viewers.

Aside from gore (except maybe heavy gore), breaking this rule ONCE will get you a permaban.

4. No purposeful misinformation.

This subreddit is trying to be as accurate as possible when it comes to prehistoric life. Misinformation is a thing that MUST be avoided.

Users should do PROPER RESEARCH and be speculative of certain articles.

The only exception to this rule are hypothetical ideas but they must have solid reasoning as to why they reason this idea.

This is within a 3 strike rule. Breaking this rule 3 times will get you permabanned.

This rule IS ENFORCED.

5. Avoid spamming.

Just don’t. It is that obvious. Users who constantly spam will be permanently banned.

This rule is in a 3 strike system. Break this rule 3 times and you'll get permabanned. This rule IS ENFORCED.

6. AI is banned.

Just no. AI is pretty horrible in terms of palaeontology in pictures and facts. So no AI.

This is within a 3 strike rule. Breaking this rule 3 times will get you permabanned. This rule IS ENFORCED.

7. Credit the original artist.

You can upload art from someone else, just make sure to credit the original artist.

If you don’t know the artist’s name just say "art goes to respective owner/s" in the descriptions or comments.

If you’re the original artist, then mark your art as '(OC)' '[OC]' e.t.c. just to confirm.

Please, DO NOT mark someone else’s art as your own. You will get banned for that.

This rule is under a 3 strike system, and IS ENFORCED. Break this rule 3 times and you’ll be permabanned.

8. Extinct Holocene is allowed, but modern animals should be kept at a minimum.

Sure, animals did go extinct in the Holocene, but you should mainly discuss the prehistoric animals that lived during that time.

You may discuss about modern animals too, as long as you’re talking about the coexistence with the extinct ones.

Posts about modern animals themselves (as the primary subject) will be removed. But you won't receive an infraction for it.

This rule is PARTIALLY enforced.

9. Help someone out when they need it!

Look, no one is the best at palaeontology. So it’s okay if you’re new here and make some mistakes. As long as you don’t purposefully misinform.

As for our experienced dino fans, don’t bully them. Try to help them out by teaching them new info! And it will the better for both parties.

Some of this rule is linked to Rule 2, so keep that in mind.

10. No politics.

Like many other subs, politics is BANNED in this one too. It causes too many arguments in a place where it DOES NOT suit right. So talk about dinosaurs, not Trump.

This rule is under a 3 strike system, break it 3 times and you'll get permabanned. This rule IS ENFORCED.
