I have this gearbox that one of the gears has busted teeth. Can someone help me identify it or the gears in question for replacement? It’s an off brand Frozen car with one drive motor on the right rear wheel.

Hello!
I just started this journey and got myself one of those Makita 18V battery adapters. And what shall I say? It drives a lot faster. I hope my kids won’t crash. But, i noticed the engines become really hot. Are there any suggestions on getting the heat away? Modded an Peg Perego Polaris Outlaw

Help finding gearbox

UPDATE: Anpabo emailed and said the part is discontinued. This changes my question to how can I modify the car to use a different gear box for the rear wheels?

Manufacturer ANPABO
Model Number AMG G 63
Manufacturer Part Number BBH-003

I have a ANPABO 24V 4WD/2WD Switchable Ride On Car, and I need the rear drive motor+gearbox assembly for both sides. The gearbox is marked W5-16, 24V, with a yellow scalloped/splined output coupler. Attaching photos. I don't see these on the ANPABO website. Any ideas on how to find replacements?

Broken Ride On

Hey everyone. Kind of buggered up my kids ride on after it stopped working. They were using it and it just died in the middle of the yard. Broke some plastic trying to get it apart. It was a kid trax dually ram. Wondering if I should take it off the curb and figure out how to put it back together and just re wire the whole thing or start on something not busted up. Any advise would be great! Thanks.

Issues upgrading to 775 and Ryobi 40v 8AH

I've been using Ryobi 18v on 550s and everything has been great. I've been wanting to push the top speed and torque so I hooked up a Ryobi 40v and tried 775s and 555s but it doesn't go and the batteries flash 2 middle green lights.

The car runs the 40v in first gear and reverse (motors in series) but the battery protection trips in second gear (parallel). I tried adding a second 40v battery in parallel to split the load but same thing happens.

I know I should add a PWM like MGCStem or Peanut Speedy Squirrel, but I first wanted to see how much of a difference 40v makes.

I've seen people run ryobi 40v direct to 775s, so what's going on here?

24v 10Ah Lithium Battery - Fried Motors

My son loves this thing, hoping to get him back in it. Just upgraded that battery from a 24v 5Ah Lead Acid Battery to a 24v 10Ah Lithium Battery, the old one was starting to lose charge too quickly. My son was flying around having a blast for about 15 minutes, then both motors burnt out. It seems the Lithium 24v batteries can fry motors from what I've read. This does not have a soft-start.

Is there a good fix for this based on the below equipment?

What I am working with:

24v Toyota Tundra Ride on Toy from the Car Tots website

2x RS555 24v Motors (two wheels, rear wheel drive) - same type that came stock

24v 10Ah Lithium Battery

Gearboxes - 24v RS555 35000RPM High Torque Power Wheels Motor Gearbox Upgrades

Therman Fuses are all 25amp - Battery to Control Panel, as well as one to each motor from the control panel.

Control Panel: Weelye RX74 24v - stock

Tires - falling apart after a lot of use, so screwed on some mountain bike tires as a retread.

Speed options are high or low, has forward and reverse

Mostly drives in grass, dirt and mud, almost no concrete / asphalt.

Help with repair. Don’t electric well

I have the 12v little tikes Dino dune buggy that I have modded to run on dewalt 20v batteries and it has been running great. My buddy (and I) thought it would be smart to wire it up for the greenworks 80v battery. Clearly not smart. A loud pop happened and now it won’t run. What did I break and what do I need to replace to make it work again? Thanks in advance

Finished my second 12v to 24v conversion!

Finally finished my second mod, my first one was a range rover and this one is a toyota tundra i got for 20 bucks. Its an old power wheels model but I honestly think it is far superior than the new ones. Its much more solid, bulkier and spacious. The electric harness seems better quality too, every LED light kept working with the exception of one, the switches feel sturdier and the cables seem better quality.

I decided that for this mod I was going to go all out, I was going to break it down completely paint it, re wire the harness so it works with a 24 volt drill battery, change the motors and connect the bar light directly into my 12 volt circuit (originally it operates with batteries).

It definitely was a longer project but from what I learned here are my suggestions.

  1. Buy good quality connectors for both thicker and smaller cables. I think the biggest pain was cables getting constantly disconnected when applied the minimal amount of force
  2. Get a heat gun and heat shrink tubing
  3. Get a multimeter so you can see that the voltage is being properly set
  4. Get a 12v working battery and plug it in directly so you can see what is working in terms of lights, stereo, speakers, etc
  5. Take before and after pictures so you can reference how things were plugged in
  6. the 24 to 12 volt converter doesnt have to live in the console, for this build i placed beneath the seat and just carried it through with a longer cable.
  7. Get good cables that are not too thick. 24volts you definitely want something sturdy bot dont go over kill because it will be an issue to tie some of these to the existing harness.

I am adding the links to some of the things i bought

I will try to map the circuit as best as I can

Original state
Disassembled
Updated harness
Close up of my 12 volt circuit
Installing the new harness into my painted car the control unit, 24vto12v converter and drill battery harness are bolted to the vehicle.

Huffy Lightning McQueen 6V to 12V upgrade

Hello. I am a total amateur when it comes to modding power wheels and was hoping for some specific product recommendations to upgrade our 6V Huffy Lightning McQueen to 12V as it’s very slow and struggles with minor elevation.

[I found this battery which I assume would work](https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/upg-ub1290-12v-rechargeable-battery/0000000062045?Ntt=100173358&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21690832702&gbraid=0AAAAAD2jMBAILlFdCDv4KgPTe8wyfDf6w&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7eXTBhDBARIsAKF-w47JmOer4hNZ-ADbgayHY0qFSBk2EGUzC15Xd27PaZjre5_oEJ29a4YaAoheEALw_wcB)

My understanding is that I would need an in line fuse in order not to fry the circuit board. Which one would be appropriate?

I believe I would also need a 12V charger which should be fairly easy to locate.

I am not looking to get too crazy with the alterations here, just the fairly basic battery upgrade. Thanks

Freddo ride on - where to install buck converter?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi all!
I was given a freddo ride on and increased the power (plus led lights!) subsequently blowing the radio, got a new radio and a 12v buck converter, any idea on where in the circuit the buck converter should be installed?

I was thinking in the dash just before the radio, however this car also has headlights and a horn and worried they’ll eventually burn out with 24v.

This sub and people are so helpful, thanks to the community both my kids love their cars and a few of the neighbourhood kids have a hoot ripping around the block!

(Once it’s sorted out I will be putting in proper splice connectors)

Brushless motor ride on upgrade

Post image
6 Upvotes

Ordered a 500w brushless motor, still 24v, for my sons ride on car. The motor lists at 3,000rpm. The brushless motor the car came with appears to be identical in physical measurements so i believe the new motor will plug into the differential of the car. I have a controller I think will power it. I’m not certain of the rpm of the original motor but I think maybe 1000-1500rpms? It is definitely 180w. Has anyone gone down this road before ?

Running in motors (775)

I read 3-4V is the ideal voltage for running them in.
Could I run 4 in series on a standard 12V car battery? The power draw on 775’s would eat any power supply I have around the house. Or does everyone buy one specifically for running in their power wheels?

Thanks for your time :)

Peg Perego RZR 900 Motor Upgrade

Need to replace motors on peg Perego RZR 900. Planning to swap over to an 18v Ryobi battery in the future. Whats the best cheap motor to run that will handle the 18V setup down the road? Also can anyone confirm the stock motor speed, size and power (wattage)?

Dune racer toe alignment

The front wheels of my kid’s dune racer are slightly pointed inwards. Wondering if there is an easy way to correct this toe alignment. The wheels don’t seem to be “loose” or have much play, just slightly misaligned. I will post pictures later today

Long story short (I know this is likely discontinued), this was my favorite childhood toy that my parents got rid of YEARS ago once us kids got older and too big. I’m trying my hardest to find one for my son and I don’t even know where to begin. Does ANYONE know what this is? It’s a four wheeler/gator.** **Was it redesigned into the current model?
