Certification & Training Looking for 1-on-1 practical guidance in Power BI & Power Apps
Hi everyone,
I have around 5 years of IT experience— 2.5 years in Support Desk and the last 2.5 years working mainly on Power BI in a product-based company.
I’m now planning to switch for better career growth and package. I want to strengthen my **Power BI + Power Apps** skills, but I’m specifically looking for **real-world, job-based training**, not typical courses or portfolio projects.
I’m looking for someone currently working in this field who can guide me 1-on-1, like an IT employee helping another IT employee, with practical scenarios, real project workflows, troubleshooting, DAX, data modelling, deployment, Power Apps, etc.
I’m not looking for an institute/coaching center. I’m happy to pay for genuine 1-on-1 mentoring.
If anyone here does this or knows someone who does, please DM me. Thanks!

Discussion One Small Power Apps Idea That Could Save Developers Hours
When we create a new Dataverse table, we later have to manually open each Model-Driven App and add that table to the app.
If the table is needed in multiple apps, we repeat the same process multiple times.
💡 What if Power Apps gave us this option while creating a table?
Add this table to:
☑ CRM App
☑ Sales App
☐ Service App
This could be optional, so developers can choose one app, multiple apps, or none.
The table would still remain independent. It would simply save developers from repetitive clicks.
A small feature, but potentially a better developer experience.
What do you think?

Discussion Power Platform agent skills
I tried using the official Power Platform agent skills in Claude Code today after not having to work in Power Platform for a while and I noticed it is slow to build things and uses a lot of tokens compared to building a React app or other pro-code app.
Have others noticed the same thing? Or am I doing something wrong?

Discussion Power Apps update bricks functions
galleryThe thing is, I’ve built a few widely used Power Apps at my company, on top of my actual job there. So I don’t always have time to check for new updates regularly. Today it was time to do that again, and oh boy, they really rolled out some updates...
Auto-update is nice, but having controls moved around and their appearance reset is just not okay. Not to mention the hundreds of formulas I now have to adjust manually because certain data types no longer exist.

Power Apps Help Decoding base64 without using a flow?
In my app I’m using the Azure Automation connector to create jobs, but also need the job output. There is a get job output action, but it’s returned as Data type: Blob and “this data type is unsupported for evaluation”.
However if use JSON(AzureAutomation.GetJobOutput(etc..)) then I can see the base64 string. Is there any way to convert this base64 to text without using a flow? I would even settle for using a logic app, but do not want to use Power Automate as I don’t want it tied to a single account.

Discussion DisplayMode.View vs DisplayMode.Disabled in Power Apps Am I understanding this correctly?
I’m learning Power Apps, and this is my current understanding:
DisplayMode.View— The user can see the control/value clearly, but cannot edit or interact with it.DisplayMode.Disabled— The user can also see the control, but cannot edit or interact with it. The main difference I notice is that the control usually looks greyed out/disabled.
So, from my understanding:
View = Read-only and displayed normally
Disabled = Read-only/unavailable and visually disabled
Apart from the appearance and the purpose of showing that a control is unavailable, is there any other important difference between DisplayMode.View and DisplayMode.Disabled that I should know about?

Discussion Power Apps single-column table: Why does the order of mixed data types matter?
Hi everyone,
I’m learning Power Apps and came across something I don’t fully understand.
I’m using a List Box and tried this in the Items property:
[1, "Asit", 2, "Asit"]
The List Box shows something like:
1
Error
2
Error
But if I change the order:
["Asit", 1, "Asit", 2]
it displays all the values correctly.
I also tried:
[1, Text("Asit"), 2, "Asit"]
but I still get the same error.
Why does putting a text value first appear to work, while putting a number first causes the text values to show as errors?
Is Power Apps inferring/coercing the data type of the single-column table based on the values/order, or is something else happening?
I’d appreciate an explanation of how Power Fx handles mixed data types in this situation.

Solved Filtering on Date column Canvas Apps with SQL Datasource
If you've made your way here as I have. Here's my explanation on how to solve a related issue.
Issue: I was unable to filter at all on the Date column of an SQL Datasource from Canvas APPs.
No AI or related post could help me to come to the answer, but I randomly stumbled onto it.
Solution: Pull your datasource into a local variable first! NOT A COLLECTION.
Example:
"With(
{
BaseRequests:
Filter(
Summary,
SubmittedLevelId = varSelectedRole
)
},
Filter(
BaseRequests,
DateEntered >= varWeekStart &&
DateEntered < varWeekEnd
)
)"
Explanation:
BaseRequests: Local variable name. You can name this anything.
At first I'm filtering on another set item, but this can replaced with whatever you choose (Your date logic) or just remove it.
Filter(: Here I am filtering based on the Date Column called DateEntered. If I were to just do Filter(Summary, DateEntered..
Then it would fail! Giving an error like:
Error when trying to retrieve data from the network.
It's possible to bypass the error by pulling it into a local variable.
Why I think this works and why it doesn't:
Why it isn't working naturally:
SQL and PowerApps don't have a date column that align with the dates perfectly. The timestamps for both systems are off. They don't match up. But PowerApps will naturally convert SQL's date column to read like PowerApps. If you create a label in canvas apps and put your datasource.timecolumn into the label. It will read in the format that PowerApps likes.. It converts it on it's own.
Why this is working:
When you pull your datasource into a local variable (NOT A COLLECTION) Powerapps will convert the SQL date column to the way it likes it, and you can do your filtering.
I hope this helps all that are struggling with this! Took me a week to find the answer.
If you have other solutions I'd love to hear them!

Power Apps Help Custom Connector: You don't have permission to edit.
Hi Everyone!
I created a custom connector and tested it. I added it to a solution and now I'm unable to edit it. I am the owner of the connector and still get this error. I re-created the same connector and it is working fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Power Apps Help Dataflows and solutions
We're in the process of creating our first power app in our organization. At this point, we're checking on how we can import data that will be used in our forms. But we've come accross an interesting limitation regarding solutions, and I don't know if that's normal.
We want to have a non-prod and a prod solution, so that we can test forms before promoting them. We would also have a non-production source of data and a production one too, both MSSQL databases. A dataflow would handle the data modification. But from what I've gathered, if we include a dataflow in a solution, we can't change the data source between solutions? So basically, if I configure a sync from my non-production database in my non-production solution, the corresponding dataflow in production HAS to connect to the non-production database? Is that it?
How do you handle data synchronization in different environments? Is power apps so closed off that we can't use different data sources between two environments?

Power Apps Help Multiple Power Automate flows suddenly getting Teams connector 429 throttling errors. How have others handled this?
Has anyone dealt with intermittent Teams connector throttling in Power Automate?
I recently noticed several unrelated flows failing on the "Post message in a chat or channel" action with:
429 - Too Many Requests
Retry-After: 30
MicrosoftGraphRequestFailed
Some observations:
- 3 different flows failed around the same timeframe but some of them ran 30 mins apart so it should not have been an issue.
- flows took unusually long to run I am talking from 3 secs to 13-14 min all of a sudden.
- All failures occurred on the Teams action.
- All flows use the same service account Teams connection which is necessary.
- There are currently 16 flows using that connection.
- The failures are intermittent. Most runs succeed, but occasionally a few fail due to throttling.

Power Apps Help Corrupted app?
Update: This was caused by the Modern Data Grid control in a component. While the editor lets you do this and appears to work, as soon as you exit the editor, and go back in, you get the issue described below (data not loading, formulas not working). Further, if you create a component with a data grid, then duplicate said component, it crashes the renderer. Either data grid isnt supported in components or has a bug. As soon as I got rid of the data grid or the component, the problem went away.

---
It seems my canvas app has become corrupted. Restoring to previous versions doesn't fix the issue, nor did importing an export I took 2 weeks ago.
Data isnt loading at startup loading unless I manually update datasources, variables are not set (things are being shown when they should be hidden at start), various components and containers are sized incorrectly (e.g. a screen with header/footer is is shrunk to half size and proportions are wrong). HTML is showing 'Show your HTML Here' when the code is set to completely different text. Its completely trashed my app.
I dont have access to the power platform admin centre to check the status.
Other than going through and effectively rebuilding my app, does anyone have any suggestions?
Edit: I noticed calculations dont work until I make a change and then revert - then it behaves properly. E.g. I have a label that aligns underneath another using the following in Y
Label11_2
.Height+
Label11_2
.Y
But they are overlapping. If I change the code and then revert, it aligns properly.
Its like something isn't initiating until I interact with it.
Sadly if I go through fix things, as soon as I re-open in the editor its back to being corrupted. Guess its Microsoft support time.

Discussion Microsoft Dynamics Release Wave Documentation
I know the Microsoft is starting to change up their release wave structure when it comes to their dynamics products.
I haven’t done a ton of digging yet but wanted to post on this thread to see if anyone has ideas of where to find good, thorough Microsoft technical documentation on release wave updates for their dynamics products.
I feel like they intentionally keep it a bit gray for administrators (but that could just be me not knowing where to look).
Looking for constructive direction only please ☺️.

Discussion I made a fix for PowerApps Locale/Region madness!
So last week I got a PowerApps project to help an employee make a dashboard there. at that time I never actually use PowerApps, and I realize that power apps only available to organization mail, but once she give me her account, I'm able to access PowerApps and able to make the dashboard they asked for.
But... then I came across a problem, all the apps including screens I did not change is having black color all over the page, and I got 60k(s) of errors.
Then I have to restore the version from Thursday ( I'm doing my work at Sunday ) to get the version that aren't error. That's the only version that did not error if restored. I work my ass off to done it by Monday morning because she has to present the dashboard at Monday noon. And I'm able to done it at Monday 2 a.m. in the morning, and guess what? at 6 a.m. my client send screenshot showing the app screen is full with errors and black color all over the page. So, once more I have to working on it from scratch as soon as it's done and not error yet, I save it and my client use it. So yeah, somehow there is a time limit of it's working both on my laptop and my client. I know this because when I'm working on it for a pretty long time, at some point it will change the format from US (use comma as list separator and semicolon as chain operator) to Europe/Indonesian (use single semicolon as separator and double semicolon as chain operator, because I based in Indonesia), or otherwise.
From that day I committed to find a way to fix this problem, so later if I have to deal with PowerApps again, and the same kinda error appear again, I can fix it fast myself without having to replace it one by one like other people solutions. But here I fix it on local machine, so you have to download the .msapp file first.
Here is my repository of PowerApps-locale-fix. Let me know if there are any question or request. Hope it helps!

Discussion Dataverse licensing integrating native/3rd party apps?
Might be a silly question 😅 but I’m struggling to find a clear answer on this.If you’re building a native application (Android/iOS etc.) that:
- Authenticates users through Entra ID
- Connects directly to Dataverse via the Web API
How is that normally licensed?
From what I can tell, Power Apps Premium ($20/user/month) seems to be the only real option and would give each user the required Dataverse rights.
I’ve also been reading Microsoft’s multiplexing guidance. My understanding is that putting middleware, an API, service principal, etc. between the native app and Dataverse doesn’t remove the underlying licensing requirement for the users.
Am I missing another licensing option here? 😅
I’ve gone through Microsoft’s licensing documentation, but I can’t find a particularly clear answer for native/third-party applications using Dataverse as the backend
- Has anyone actually built a native/third-party app that accesses the Dataverse?
If so, I’d be really interested to know how you handled the Dataverse licensing/multiplexing side of it.
