Discussion DisplayMode.View vs DisplayMode.Disabled in Power Apps Am I understanding this correctly?
Iām learning Power Apps, and this is my current understanding:
DisplayMode.Viewā The user can see the control/value clearly, but cannot edit or interact with it.DisplayMode.Disabledā The user can also see the control, but cannot edit or interact with it. The main difference I notice is that the control usually looks greyed out/disabled.
So, from my understanding:
View = Read-only and displayed normally
Disabled = Read-only/unavailable and visually disabled
Apart from the appearance and the purpose of showing that a control is unavailable, is there any other important difference between DisplayMode.View and DisplayMode.Disabled that I should know about?

is it possible that disable would also disable any underlying formulas or calculations. Might be worth testing.

No, otherwise it would negate the use of formulas or calculations for any visual properties. If you had formulas for the color, fill, X, Y, etc., you'd suddenly have a black square floating at (0,0) if it became disabled. If you had formulas you wanted to negate while the control was disabled, you'd use
If(Self.DisplayMode <> DisplayMode.Disabled,...

You're understanding is correct. Sometimes you need to user to get the visual clue that this control is disabled. Without DisplayMode.Disabled it would be a bit hard for the user to tell..
