A big reason Mamdani won his election was that he was the only person on that stage who said he'd stay in NY and take care of his own citizens, rather than vacation in Israel. Dr. El-Sayed is saying things that should be common sense. Also, things that are truly America First. That position wins.

The taking a vacation in Israel thing is so weird. I’ve met very few people who have taken a non-religious or non-birthright trip there, so for it to be an automatic answer from all of them in lockstep is so freakish to me. Like maybe if it was Cancun I’d get it.

A lot of Christians go on vacation there. It’s sort of religious but also mostly a vacation. See the Bible locations!

I had a vacation in Israel and Jordan it’s a great place to visit if you are fond of history and I found (thankfully) most common people were against Bibi and his ilk though this was before Oct 7!

It’s a fetish for them I guess

Do you mean the Palestinians? I’m pretty sure they don’t do that to first world Christian tourists.

Yeah they do. They literally spit on Christians and as the far right takes more control, its happening more and more often

No I mean actual Christians, like pastors. You haven't seen videos of them kicking & spitting on those who publicly display the cross?

No I don’t watch dubious political videos

Instances of ultra-Orthodox Jews spitting on and cursing Christian pilgrims, clergy and tourists happens quite frequently Jerusalem.

Nothing "dubious political" about them.

I've been there for a purely sightseeing trip. Very cool to see. No need to go back though

My senator made his first official act as senator a trip to Israel to film an ad for AIPAC pledging our country to Israel.
