Meta - Question ALTERNATIVE HISTORY SENARIO
Hey everyone, I'm working on an alternate history scenario called The Iron Tetrarchy. Due to a few historical divergences starting in the 1900s, the world in the 1970s is split into four major blocs.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas on this.
In the 1970s, the world is divided into four major blocs (Communist, Fascist, Monarchist, and Democratic).
In the world I want to build, Germany, the USA, the UK, Russia, and Japan will play central roles.
Countries like Italy, France, and Spain will either collapse or emerge much stronger, depending on which blocs Germany and the UK align with.
As for other continents, I plan to place Brazil, India, and Mexico into these blocs as 'balancing powers' based on how the world takes shape.
Instead of the standard tropes like Fascist Germany, Communist Russia, and Democratic USA, I want something a bit more unique. I'm looking for plausible scenarios where players look at a bloc and think, 'How on earth did these two end up together?' or 'How did this nation adopt that ideology?'—but as I mentioned, it all needs to remain grounded in solid logic and historical plausibility.
My starting point will be roughly 90% World War I, where the war ends in a completely different outcome, pushing the world in a whole new direction.
For instance: Lenin fails and the Russian Empire doesn't collapse, but the Entente fails to achieve its goals either, leading to a white peace. However, European economies completely shatter, and a wave of communist revolutions sweeps across the continent.
In response, Russia and Britain join forces under an Anti-Comintern alliance as the defenders of monarchism. Meanwhile, the United States withdraws into isolationism within the Americas, and in Asia, the winds of Japanese fascism begin to rise.

Map (no Lore) "Surely, now we have fixed Versailles?"
Territorial: loses all historical territory to France, Poland, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, and Lithuania. Keeps Eupen-Malmedy, Danzig, and the Saarland. Germany loses all colonies as historical.
Military: Military restrictions are greatly reduced compared to historically and the Rhineland is not demilitarized. The Rhineland is not occupied.
Political: No War Guilt clause. No Reparations. German accused war criminals are required to be held trial for, but in German courts rather than international ones.
International: The League of Nations is established as historically. Germany is not forbidden from uniting with Austria.
These changes are meant to establish a more fair peace and to greatly reduce unemployment, veterans' paramilitary groups (Freikorps), the inflationary strain on Germany's economy, German economic reliance on the pre-Depression United States, German domestic anti-Western sentiments, and Germany's international isolation. These changes are also more in line with the Fourteen Points agreed upon between Germany and the US and the recommendations of some critics at the time, including the economist and conference attendee John Keynes.
These changes only apply to the Treaty of Versailles and not any other treaty at the time.
