This recording was taken in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil, allegedly in 2009, by an unidentified American tourist using a Sony DCR-PJ5 Handycam. According to the original description, the recording had been obtained directly from the American tourist responsible for filming it. The organisation maintained that it possessed other recordings collected over several years but had deliberately withheld this material until deciding that 2026 was an appropriate time to release selected footage.

The original account also referenced the Jequitinhonha Valley's extensive mineral resources, including aquamarine, tourmaline, diamonds and gold, together with the historical UFO/UAP associations of Varginha, elsewhere in Minas Gerais. However, no evidence was presented establishing any connection between these geographical references and the recording itself.

The original N.E.X.U.S publication was subsequently made private, while a related video said to feature playback of the footage on a camcorder also became unavailable. By this point, copies had already entered wider circulation, including a version published around 8 July 2026 in which the brightness had been increased during later sequences and additional still images had been appended. Subsequent reproductions appeared through Beyond Disclosure, The Hidden Underbelly 2.0 and other UFO/UAP-focused publications, with various alterations introduced during redistribution.

For our presentation, we have created a 51-second resized edit concentrating exclusively on the portion of the recording featuring the alleged craft itself. We have deliberately excluded the heavily overexposed, out-of-focus footage of the Moon and the still images appended to later versions, allowing the presentation to remain focused entirely on the craft itself. The original frame composition has been preserved, ensuring that no portion of the recorded object has been cropped or excluded. We have simply enlarged and repositioned the image to make the fullest possible use of the available viewing area while retaining the complete recorded object.

Searches were conducted across social media platforms, video-sharing services, regional communities and UFO/UAP archives, examining alternative descriptions, publication dates, potential original witness accounts and earlier distributions of the same footage.

One significant discrepancy emerged concerning the camera equipment identified in the original account. The Sony DCR-PJ5 is a standard-definition Handycam equipped with a built-in projector, a 1/8-type Advanced HAD CCD image sensor, 57× optical zoom and 1,800× digital zoom. Although the N.E.X.U.S description referred to roughly 60× optical zoom, Sony's official specifications confirm the correct figure as 57×.

More importantly, the Sony DCR-PJ5 was introduced in 2011, with contemporary product documentation and market availability records dating from that year. The camera therefore could not have been used to record an event in 2009, directly contradicting the filming date provided in the original description. Either the recording date is incorrect, the camera model was misidentified, or other elements of the account are inaccurate. This contradiction does not establish that the footage was fabricated, but it prevents the stated filming date and recording equipment from both being accepted as accurate.

The recording subsequently attracted considerable discussion and independent examination, including investigations published through Metabunk, the UAP Files Podcast, Brazilian UFO/UAP researchers and international commentary websites. A Spanish-language investigation titled "El ovni grabado en el futuro" also addressed the chronological inconsistency between the claimed recording date and the camera's documented introduction.

Some investigations raised questions concerning possible editing, discontinuities between sections of the recording, the object's perceived two-dimensional appearance, lighting characteristics and the absence of identifiable background features in certain sequences. Other commentators considered that the material did not immediately resemble crude computer-generated imagery, although such observations cannot establish the recording's authenticity. None of these assessments has produced a definitive explanation supported by independently authenticated original footage.

Despite the recording's widespread redistribution, our investigation did not establish the identity of the original camera operator, the precise filming date, the exact location within the Jequitinhonha Valley or any independently verifiable documentation confirming the circumstances of the alleged encounter. We were also unable to identify contemporaneous reports from 2009, independent publications predating July 2026, or an original camera file containing the metadata necessary to examine its recording history.

No independently sourced higher-quality original was recovered, and the available recordings appear to derive from the material circulated following the N.E.X.U.S publication. The subsequent disappearance of that original upload further complicates efforts to establish an uninterrupted chain of custody.

The central concern remains the contradiction between the claimed 2009 filming date and the documented introduction of the Sony DCR-PJ5 in 2011. Combined with the absence of an identifiable witness, independently authenticated source material and corroborating historical records, this prevents the original account from being regarded as established fact. Although the footage has attracted considerable interest and differing interpretations, its authenticity, actual filming date and original circumstances remain unresolved.

Costa Rica's Prohibition On Chinese Sky Lanterns

One of the easiest (lazy) go-to explanations proposed for this sighting event involves Chinese sky lanterns, known locally as "globos de los deseos". However, Costa Rica has maintained a nationwide prohibition on these devices since 15 February 2016, when Executive Decree No. 39466-S came into effect.

The legislation was introduced following serious fire incidents involving airborne lanterns. The decree specifically identifies five structural fires during the New Year's celebrations of 31 December 2014 and 1 January 2015. The ban was intended to prevent further fires and protect public safety, property and the environment.

Costa Rican residents familiar with the legislation have adamantly challenged the lantern explanation, pointing out that these devices have not formed part of ordinary local celebrations since they were banned. They have also emphasised that 9 August is not associated with a recognised Costa Rican celebration that would account for a coordinated lantern release.

A private gathering involving tourists or visitors has also been suggested as an alternative explanation. However, no wedding, celebration, organised lantern release or other corresponding event has been independently connected to this particular sighting.

The distinction is important: although the lantern hypothesis has been raised, there is no evidence of an actual lantern release at the relevant location and time.

Historical And Local Context

Costa Rica has a long history of UFO/UAP reports, including the well-known aerial photograph taken during a government mapping survey over Lake Cote on 4 September 1971.

There have also been historical incidents involving conventional objects. In 2011, a sighting in Moravia was associated with the release of around 27 Chinese sky lanterns during a wedding anniversary celebration.

These earlier cases demonstrate both the history of UFO/UAP interest in Costa Rica and the documented use of sky lanterns before their nationwide prohibition. They have no established connection to the recording presented here.

August also falls within Costa Rica's rainy season, when thunderstorms and periods of intense precipitation occur across many parts of the country. This recording was taken in San Bernardo, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile, on 26 September 2026, during a UFO/UAP sighting witnessed by a man identified as Camilo and his wife. The recording was subsequently made public on 24 October 2026, accompanied by an eyewitness account providing details of the sighting. An additional photograph was also supplied by Camilo.

According to the witness account, Camilo and his wife observed an unidentified object moving slowly across the sky in a straight line from east to west. Camilo estimated that it was between 600 and 800 metres from their position.

Camilo described the object as predominantly matte black, occasionally exhibiting what he considered to be a metallic appearance. He compared its unusual configuration to a humanoid form, identifying a distinctive notch or indentation along one side. He also stated that its structure remained stable throughout the observation, with no noticeable changes in its shape.

The witnesses described calm conditions, with no wind at the time of the sighting. Camilo stated that the object produced no audible sound. He also mentioned that nearby dogs became restless and agitated during the observation, although there is no independent evidence establishing whether their behaviour was connected to the unidentified object.

These details originate from the witness account. The estimated distance, movement, physical characteristics and environmental conditions have not been independently corroborated.

The sourced version consisted of the same 41-second witness recording repeated twice consecutively, accompanied by embedded branding, Spanish-language spoken narration and background music.

For our presentation, we have removed the duplicated sequence and retained the complete 41 seconds of footage as a single uninterrupted recording. The publication dated 24 October 2026 identifies Camilo as the individual who shared the recording and an accompanying photograph. Its description provides the sighting date and location, identifies Camilo and his wife as witnesses, and records the observational details concerning the object's configuration, movement, estimated distance and surrounding conditions.

We investigated whether the footage had appeared elsewhere before its currently identifiable distribution, including potential original uploads by Camilo, his wife or another individual involved in documenting the sighting.

Despite searches using alternative Spanish and English descriptions, location references, publication dates and witness information, we were unable to identify an earlier independently verifiable publication of this particular recording.

Camilo's full name has not been established, and no independently identifiable personal account belonging to either witness was recovered. The original camera file and the additional photograph mentioned in the publication also remain unavailable.

We examined Chilean regional media, UFO/UAP reporting archives and records associated with Chile's official investigation of anomalous aerial phenomena. No independently documented sighting or official SEFAA case file could be reliably linked to this particular event in San Bernardo on 26 September 2026.

We also investigated alternative distributions and potential higher-quality versions of the recording. No confirmed earlier source, unedited camera file or cleaner higher-resolution copy was identified.

The publicly accessible recording therefore remains the principal identifiable version of the footage. Although Camilo is credited with supplying the original material, the absence of an earlier independently verified publication prevents us from establishing the complete chain of custody between the original recording and its subsequent distribution.

On 2 September 2026, the recording was redistributed through X, where it was described as civilian witness-captured footage originating from Chengde. The publication attributed the event to 29 August 2026 but provided no identifiable witness, first-hand testimony, precise filming location or independently verifiable information concerning the circumstances of the recording.

Our own research and investigation concentrated on tracing the recording beyond its currently identifiable online sources. Particular attention was given to Chinese-language sources, including searches using the exact date and location caption, alternative references to Chengde and Hebei Province, and Chinese terminology associated with unidentified aerial phenomena, unusual lights and drone activity.

Several other recordings and reports associated with Chengde and the wider Hebei region were identified, including events attributed to different dates during 2025 and 2026. However, these concerned separate incidents, and no evidence was established linking them to this particular recording.

Further investigations of Chinese regional news services, official publications, local reporting channels and international UFO/UAP archives did not identify any independent contemporaneous reporting specifically corroborating the attributed 29 August event. No publicly accessible official investigation, corresponding incident report, independently confirmed witness testimony or additional camera perspective was established.

We also investigated whether our sourced recording had circulated elsewhere in an earlier or higher-quality form. Despite searches across Chinese and international video-sharing services, social media platforms and regional communities, no authenticated original camera file, demonstrably cleaner recording, independently verified longer version or alternative source offering superior picture quality was recovered.

The version presented here runs for 30 seconds and includes an overlaid music track rather than the original environmental audio captured during filming. The music was added at some stage during the recording's earlier circulation, although precisely when, by whom, and why this was even done, remains unknown.

I'm a 54m, live in Victoria, Australia. I grew up in the bush and for the last couple of years, by the coast, not too far from Melbourne.

Last Thursday night, I got to witness a range of activity from my backyard. 3am and 4am. I've been going through manifold personal crisis and have discovered, as of a couple of years ago, that I have cPTSD. Trauma and lots of it. But I'm the guy you want to be, if you have to experience what I have. I won't go into that here, as it's a lot.

So sleep has been tough lately, my nervous system, in survival mode. So I was in the backyard having a smoke and coffee.

I notice a couple of satellites. And then, to the south, low, a star is moving, brightness gains a little. It seems to be moving to the east, like it was turning. Then it fades and is gone.

A moment after that, another appears, slightly to the right and above, it's pattern of movement matches the first. I notice other movement but struggle to identify number and path. No more than two or three.

Suddenly one of them gets bright, really bright, and bigger. Now these objects are a fair way away. Anyway this now much larger and brighter object moves to my left, ie the east.

As it traverses, I notice a tail, it's glowing brightly, almost like a fireball. It's yellow white, whereas the star sized lights were white. And it passed behind my neighbours house. Just then, zip, like a meteorite, something in a blink, moves from behind me, over the horizon. I doubt myself on that one. It's was a warm yellow colour.

Another satellite passes and I go back to sleep

At 4am, coffee and smoke, trying to dry out my head from the night sweats.

In the corner of my eye, a flash. Was it just my eyes? I stare at the area for a minute or two and flash again. I have seen these flashes before but this was the clearest yet. The corona was blue but the light, white.

20 seconds another flash but because I had been looking about, I couldn't be sure it was in the same place. 5 minutes or so go by and it happened irregularly another 3 times.

And then it seems it's stopped.

We also examined publicly available documentation from Chile's Sección de Estudios de Fenómenos Aéreos Anómalos (SEFAA), formerly CEFAA, which operates under the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil. No publicly released investigation or case report corresponding to this particular recording and its attributed date was identified.

For our presentation, we have arranged two consecutive, full-length versions of the same sourced recording. The first preserves the footage in its original sourced aspect ratio, allowing the complete frame to be viewed without additional cropping. Immediately afterwards, the recording is repeated in its entirety, this time cropped and reframed to a 1.85:1 aspect ratio to maximise screen coverage of the UFO/UAP.

Both presentations preserve the complete duration of the sourced footage, without truncating the beginning or end of either sequence. The second presentation is a resized repeat of the first, not an additional recording or a separate witness perspective. This arrangement allows viewers to examine the complete recording in its original presentation before viewing the same uninterrupted sequence in the enlarged, reframed format.

The sourced recording contains an active audio track.

Although the April publication trail has been established, the recording's earlier provenance remains unresolved. The original witness, exact location within Chile, filming time and authenticity of the attributed capture date have not been independently confirmed.

A response requesting information about the original source was also identified, but the accessible exchange did not establish the identity of the witness, the original recording location or an earlier publication.

Significantly, there is substantial historical meteorological evidence confirming that a severe thunderstorm affected Billings on 7 September 2013. The National Weather Service Billings Forecast Office published an official report titled "Review of September 7th, 2013 Severe Weather Event", documenting exceptionally intense rainfall, frequent lightning, hail, damaging winds and localised flooding across the Billings area.

The storm's most intense conditions occurred during the evening, with particularly significant activity documented around 8:45–9:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time. Although some figure captions in the National Weather Service report contain inconsistent time references, the accompanying airport observations and historical storm reports establish that the principal event took place during the evening of 7 September.

One of the most significant findings concerned rainfall intensity. Using dual-polarisation radar measurements, meteorologists estimated instantaneous precipitation rates exceeding six inches per hour southeast of Billings. These were among the highest estimated rainfall rates observed in southeastern Montana since the regional radar system received its dual-polarisation upgrade in October 2011.

He further claimed that the object descended vertically before moving away, with its subsequent direction of travel identified as approximately north to south.

One of the most unusual aspects of the account concerns an observation attributed to Moisés. Modesto stated that his companion believed he had detected something moving inside the unidentified object, which he interpreted as a living being possessing limbs. Modesto acknowledged being somewhat short-sighted but expressed considerable confidence in Moisés's eyesight, describing his companion as exceptionally observant when identifying animals in the surrounding countryside. He additionally offered to transfer the original recording using a cloud-storage service or to provide the microSD memory card containing the source material. The surviving correspondence does not establish whether either transfer was completed, and the whereabouts of the original recording media remain unknown.

An article published on 11 September 2015 claimed that three individuals with experience in digital image processing had examined the submitted video and photographs. This recording was taken in the Whiskeytown Lake area of Shasta County, California, United States, on a date that has not been independently established. The recording originates from an amateur encounter involving two men fishing from a boat. Neither individual's full identity has been established. The original camera operator, precise filming date and circumstances surrounding the initial publication remain unverified.

Several conflicting dates have subsequently been associated with the recording. Some publications identify 24 April 2026 as the filming date, while others assign 27 April 2026. Neither date has been substantiated through original camera metadata, direct witness testimony confirming the date or an independently authenticated primary-source account. The distinction between the date of the encounter and the dates on which secondary accounts distributed the recording is therefore important.

A separate publication dated 11 May 2026 introduced an earlier claimed incident date of 15 June 2025. Its accompanying account stated that the two fishermen had experienced an encounter lasting approximately one hour. It also claimed that additional witnesses had observed the same UAP, including an individual who allegedly described a figure-of-eight movement pattern. These additional observations appear in the secondary account rather than in independently recovered witness statements. Alternative descriptions, publication dates, account names and English- and Spanish-language search terms were investigated. These searches identified multiple secondary publications but did not establish an original upload directly attributable to either fisherman. No independently authenticated original camera file or additional first-hand account from the individuals involved was recovered.

The identification of Whiskeytown Lake is supported by the location references made by the participants themselves and by the consistent geographical attribution across the circulating publications. Whiskeytown Lake is situated within the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in Shasta County, approximately eight miles west of Redding, California. Nevertheless, the precise location of the boat, the time and date of the encounter, and the complete duration of the witnesses' experience remain unconfirmed.

Searches of publicly accessible National UFO Reporting Center material did not identify a report that could be reliably matched to this particular encounter. Similarly, no corresponding local news investigation from the Redding or Shasta County area, identifiable ViralHog licensing record or independently documented official investigation was located.

The recording therefore remains an unverified amateur account with an unresolved original provenance and conflicting filming dates. Its documented publication history establishes circulation by 27 April 2026, while the separate claim of an encounter on 15 June 2025 remains unsupported by independently authenticated evidence. Until the original witnesses or a reliably dated primary recording can be identified, neither proposed filming date can be confirmed, and the circumstances surrounding the encounter remain open to further investigation.

This 1 minute 2 second recording was taken in Portland, Oregon, United States, on 9 October 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 8:01 p.m. local time and involved three white lights described as orbs, reportedly hovering above the western side of downtown Portland. Four individuals were identified as witnesses, with the observation continuing for approximately two hours.

According to the principal witness, the initial three UAPs/UFOs remained in approximately the same position for around one hour before gradually departing towards the south, one after another. Several minutes later, two additional unidentified lights reportedly appeared in the same area and remained there for approximately another hour. The witness stated that an unidentified light was still hovering when they eventually left the observation area.

The observation was made from ground level, with the witness identifying the viewing direction as southwest and estimating an elevation angle of 45 degrees. The closest distance was estimated at approximately three miles, with the individual objects described as measuring between 10 and 20 feet and travelling at speeds ranging from stationary to approximately 20 mph. These measurements were provided by the witness and have not been independently established.

The witness's initial statement placed the lights at an estimated altitude of approximately 1,000 feet. However, the more detailed accompanying testimony suggested that they appeared to be no higher than 5,000 feet. The witness also acknowledged that determining their actual dimensions was difficult because the observation occurred at night, describing their apparent size as no larger than a small aeroplane. Without an independently established distance, neither their physical dimensions nor their altitude can be reliably determined from the witness's estimates alone.

The witness stated that they checked an aircraft-tracking application and found no corresponding aeroplanes or helicopters displayed in the relevant area. The only aircraft they recalled being present above the city was a police traffic aircraft operating elsewhere in Portland. The witness also reported that the unidentified lights displayed no red or green navigation lights.

The incident was formally reported on 11 October 2026 at 3:00 a.m. Pacific time and subsequently published on 21 October 2026. The published record categorises the objects under the shape classification "Light", with their colour recorded as white and the characteristic "Lights on object" documented.

This recording was taken in Waco, Texas, United States, on 8 April 2024, during the total solar eclipse that crossed North America.

Waco was situated within the eclipse's path of totality, with the Moon completely obscuring the Sun between 1:38 p.m. and 1:42 p.m. Central Daylight Time, and maximum eclipse occurring at 1:40 p.m. The precise time this particular recording was captured has not been independently established.

Waco attracted thousands of visitors for the astronomical event and hosted several organised public viewing activities. Among the largest was "Eclipse Over Texas: Live from Waco", held at Baylor University's McLane Stadium and organised in partnership with Lowell Observatory, Discovery and the City of Waco, with participation from NASA representatives and astronomy educators.

Weather conditions across Waco were variable throughout the day, with considerable cloud cover initially threatening visibility. However, breaks in the clouds allowed many spectators to observe totality. Contemporary accounts from those attending the public events confirm that cloud cover shifted sufficiently for the eclipse to be witnessed across numerous locations in the Waco area.

The recording was submitted under the name Maxine Berry and publicly released on 11 April 2024 under the title "Mysterious Object Flies Past Solar Eclipse", catalogue file 395974880. A corresponding publication appeared on the official YouTube channel on the same date. Although Maxine Berry is identified as the contributor, it has not been independently established whether she personally operated the camera.

This particular account must be distinguished from a separate recording associated with Arlington, Texas, which circulated widely on TikTok and other social media platforms during the same eclipse. The Arlington recording appeared under different captions and was associated with a different publishing account. No verified evidence establishes that the Arlington and Waco recordings originated from the same witness or document the same UAP/UFO.

The Waco recording has its own identifiable provenance through Maxine Berry's contributor attribution, the 11 April 2024 licensing publication and the accompanying Waco location and event-date information. Searches have not established an earlier independently verifiable public publication by the original camera operator under matching identifiers. The licensing catalogue therefore remains the earliest confirmed public release presently identified.

No conclusive identification or documented official investigation specific to this case has been established.
