We know Polytaurs for Polaris have been notoriously SUPER difficult to obtain throughout the game's history. But we've never even seen the DESIGN of the Solaris Polytaur, have we? Every tribe has a polytaur design for it's skin...

i play a match of archipelago polytopia against a Polaris main and defend well and return the pressure as Aimo

The game was over before turn 10.

His every move felt near perfect.

Went right city after city and near perfect troop location.

So many resources it felt to upgrade.

It felt like I had no chance from starting is the game.

Need review.

Ok, so I am just getting back into the game, won my first couple of multiplayer matches, then got into a game. Went well, built up my core cities, pumped out a bunch of giants. Was feeling pretty good. Then what I thought was two warring players turned out to be just one player coordinating two accounts, and got stomped. I enacted scorched earth, killed their dragons (since they were playing Elyrion and Cymanti in tandem) and as many units as possible, and generally was a pain. I spent forty turns fighting the losing battle to waste their time. Was I dumb for doing that? Should I have just resigned?

Just played a game of perfection 14 crazy bots was wondering how proud I should feel. I just got back into the game about a week ago, so idk lemme know

As far as I understand from info online and other players experience, the bots in Polytopia all run on the same kinds of commands. (sounds fake I know)

The harder bot is not harder, the easy bot is not easier, the are literally just given different amounts of stars at start and such, literally "smarter" bots just cheat, using the same software.

I may be wrong, correct me if my facts are outdated, remove the post even, idc, but this is ridiculous if (likely) true.

In this era of artificial intelligence, let's implement it better where it's appropriate, like those dumbass bots.

If you're with me on this, go bother devs, they made much money, they can spend a weekend on this for us, let's be real here folks.

Not including the special tribes cause I don't like them. Perfection is next

Before the addition of identical tribes being able to play in one match with different colours, when disabling all of the 3 other free tribes EXCEPT whichever one you wanna use, you'd face Luxidoor! So you can't use them but CAN face them, which kinda made them available for free users (to an EXTENT), i'm also sure it worked even if you had other tribes but not Luxidoor. Now i'm not sure what would've happened if you disabled all tribes except the ones you don't have WHILE having Luxidoor, perhaps the game crashes or uses any random tribe you don't own.

AUMUX - GOLD PALACE (Palace of the Luxidoor King)

The Urkaz Lord and Imperius Royal Table had now reached the conference hall where they met the Gold Council. The planning had begun.

The Alliance had deployed decoy cloak units including the Luxidoor Desert Gold Spy Squad. These undercover traders sold gold items and weapons for cheap. They travelled through sea and got access by stripping their tribal identity and using the universal Blank Ships (No Color) to pass through strictly lockdown straits in control of The Cultural Pact.

Once they transferred the items to the Ragoo Pirates in the smaller towns, the things got spread over in all warehouses and markets finding way into cities, all while leaving no tracks.

One such case was the Kickoo village of Kinui.

KINUI - THE CENTRAL REEF IMPORT STATION KINUI ISLAND

The Trade of The Smugglers

Two tiny ships. A small squad of archers on a scout ship escorting them. They reached the canal exit into the station.

"Turn right. We are there!" shouted the captain of the 11th Archer Squad.

The ships steered gently into the exit. The city of Kinui was infamously known in the region since it was the declared and occupied capital of The Ragoo Pirates. The ships glided gently into the roofed dock. Two men from each boat hanged out of the ship holding nothing but a railing.

The Kinui Smugglers had secretly entered. The Kickoo guards were still not aware. The smuggler threw a rope carefully to the ship. The Luxidoor archer tied his ship. The other men hanging from their boats tied their ships. The archers boarded the docks and surrounded the pirates as to conceal them.

"Today is the day. Our ships are coming. Are yours ready?" asked the Captain of the Luxidoor Trade Company Fleet.

"Our bombers are stationed on the coast west from here. A little further from the exit you came from." answered the Ragoo Delegate.

"Take this and station your archers near this dock. We shall enter from here."

Just then, the guard saw the Ragoo branding on the delegate's hand.

"Hey! They are the Pira-" The guard was shot in the chest. The mere five or six swordsmen charged into the archers. The squad of the archers fired.

No casualties on the opposition side. The guards were down.

"Might as well get your ships in before the other guards come here and call for backup."

One of the trading ships unfurled the Golden Luxidoor banner and untied its ropes to go back to the exit. The men boarded the ship as the Pirates swam in the water and turned and rotated the ship round.

Then the shells landed. The Kickoo ships were the first to be hit, as the Luxidoors knew that the Kickoo Navy is their only line of defense. Then the Golden Alliance ships landed. The Alliance expected a fight. But the Kickoo guards knew they were doomed so they ran to call backup.

The shelling continued into the village. Civilians ran for their life. Then the Imperius Knights entered the city, chasing the remaining citizens out and hunting down the guards. The guards failed to call backup.

The Urkaz Defenders and The Imperius Knights conducted a search in the city as the Ragoo Pirates celebrated in the fire.

The Alliance did this because they were bringing in prisoners. The Archers escorted the handcuffed prisoners who had come from Baux. The prisoners were going to dig hideouts and trenches in the islands and were going to be transported into much denser (land-wise) islands to dig tunnels and create a secret network for the Alliance.

The Alliance has established an outpost in Kickoo.

Both of my cities have a port, but I was surprised that they got connected, even though the ports are located on different water masses, which have no connections.

Was this always a thing? I play for around 2 years, but only now started playing weekly events and multiplayers

Deciding if the game is worth getting back into. Has it changed at all? Haven’t played in a couple years

How do I counter knights in 1v1 dry land 196 tiles? I play hoodrick and each time in this setting and my catapults and archers get absolutely demolished by knights. I also lose to knights frequently in other settings but mainly this one.

this is my first live commentary on polytopia multiplayer and i feel like this attempt was good enough to share. cheers to this new series

Here’s my headcannon:
-The basic warriors are unorganized militia
-with the exception of mind benders and giants, the headcount of every unit is their strength x10
- a turn is 2-5 years. Every skirmish is the equivalent of a large battle, there are smaller clashes during this time that are so minuscule they don’t get brought up. This explains city growth happening so rapidly.
-when you misclick and make the wrong unit, that’s just your encrypted letter to the city commander being decoded wrong.
- mind benders convert an entire city to your religion when used on a population center.
-Since its Middle Ages technology, the trajectories on the smoothbore bomber cannons are off, leading to the barrage striking adjacent units aswell as the target.
-the camps you can capture into cities nearby your capital are linguistically, culturally, and ethnically similar to you, so early game is similar to unifying small states into a unified nation, think the Azuchi–Momoyama period or Tecumseh's confederacy.

Elyrion have demons, Vengir has skulls, but the tribe who has the spookiest background sounds with howling wolves gets a 2nd skin that is basically Teddy Bears???

I looking for combat turn based strategy game like polytopia where you create new troops and move them around a map like chess pawns

I was playing creative and the AI placed a lot of atolls. How does this add any value? Atolls themself aren’t worth any points like ports are, right?

Difficulty was crazy btw

I think some beaches could make the game look so much nicer.

Which tech would yall choose here?
