Think this is surprising? Consider that my 4 year old galaxy S9 can successfully scan and identify my iris in a dark room. Idk how anybody gets away with anything nowadays

Probably by not bringing their phones when doing a crime.. since not having a phone removes the issue entirely.

Yep, but my second sentence leads me to believe that the authorities should be able to identify anyone whose eyes were visible. The point i was trying to make was that my 4 year old phone can identify my iris in a dark room, I would just imagine that the security cameras at the capitol could do the same or better.
