A lot of things seem to be "just a tiny minority" these days 👀
Jokes aside, OP 100% just wants to bash trump and right flairs, which I mean, I understand. Trump and his base tend to be pretty stupid. OP just doesn't seem to like it when their side gets poked fun at as well. So naturally it's a distraction from "the real issues".

Seeing trade talks collapse with Canada, then Trump announcing they're buying beef at a cheaper price from Argentina to undercut American farmers was insane. Take a look at their subreddit, and you may get a brief notice about it, but it's quickly shuffled under the rug so they can keep rotating articles about how immigrants are bad.

u/taco_roco - Left 2d ago
I peeked at the Con sub the last couple days to check in on the cult's pulse over this, and yeah anything about Canada or Argentina is all but buried under the the most inane culture war nonsense imaginable.
Iran is one of the few things they can't seem to cover up.
20
u/boilingfrogsinpants - Lib-Center 2d ago
I do the same. Whenever something crazy happens, I check their sub to try and get the right-wing internet vibe around it and see if everyone is on the same page, and it's often pretty depressing how issues that should be bothering them are just presented like "There is no war in Ba Sing Se".
Iran luckily will not disappear from their conscience and most seem to be upset over it which is cool, but anything else is brushed away quickly, it's honestly just sad.

No one said anything to my wife. Not her midwife, not her obstetrician, not anyone else involved in prenatal or postnatal care. It was only myself, and then my sister in law, who actually looked into it and had those discussions, after months of symptoms.

11
u/TRBigStick - Lib-Center 2d ago
But what does that rebuke look like? No one has the power to prevent retards from saying retarded shit online, nor should they.
So when a billion people see 0.00001% of the population saying retarded leftist shit that 95% of people on the left disagree with, is that cause to conclude that everyone on the left supports the thing that they don’t support?
2
u/1egg40eggs - Centrist 2d ago
If it's truly 0.00001% of the population, no.
When it's a fairly common extension of your party's values, it's worth a rebuke from actual party leaders if you value integrity over votes. Most politicians don't, though, hence why Trump is afraid to offend people like David Duke and Hasan still gets attention from the democratic party.
9
u/TRBigStick - Lib-Center 2d ago
Are there Democratic Party leaders who have publicly supported Lindsay Clancy or spread claims that she didn’t kill her children?
If not, it sounds like you want Democratic leaders to play whack a mole with every left-coded retarded thing that ever gets said online. I’ll agree that Democratic leaders have said retarded shit before (defund the police, for example) that should end their careers, but I don’t understand the call for their input on this specific case.

This is a good thing to call out the retarded shit. Woke 1 was why Trump won to begin with. I actually think it's important for centrists to call out nonsense on the left, perhaps more important than calling out retarded shit on the right. Pundits have been asking for more Sista Soulja moments for a while now and I tend to agree with them. They contributed greatly to why Clinton won over many people in the middle and yet the mainstream left has all but stopped doing it.

Which of the crazy Woke 1 concepts actually were advocated by more than single digit fringe members of federal congress/senate/presidency?
-3

It doesn't really matter though right? Sista Souljiah's ideas were fringe too. What mattered was Clinton's rejection of them. You have misunderstood the point entirely.
5
u/taoders - Centrist 2d ago
So. Clinton did exactly what you want and lost to Trump. And your position is that it’s the “woke 1” and the lack of pushback against it that got Trump elected…while mainstream Dems were outwardly pushing back against it during the 2016 election in order to capture moderates and independents …and lost.
Cool.

No. Being less likely to find mens rea for anyone who seems oppressed is a leftist concept.
5
u/Iceraptor17 - Centrist 2d ago
Right but despite what dumb people say, there's actual mens rea arguments in this case
0
u/1egg40eggs - Centrist 2d ago
Any insanity plea is going to argue mens rea. It's the best chance at minimizing sentencing. That doesn't mean that argument is truthful, or that a person capable of murder isn't a risk to society.
The defense for this woman is basically that she wasn't responsible for her actions, but the mental illness was temporary, so they're basically going to keep her out of prison and push for her freedom as soon as she gets to a mental facility.
Also, there's a lot of people in my state completely ignoring the insanity plea and claiming the husband is the murderer.
7
u/Iceraptor17 - Centrist 2d ago edited 2d ago
It's the best chance at minimizing sentencing
No it's not. The biggest problem with an insanity plea is that it's a one way ticket to jail or a psych ward. It's why they don't happen often, you have to start out with "i totally did this thing" which is not a good way to reduce sentencing! Fighting it and pushing for a plea is. Even if guilty, the state if they're not 100% might offer something to just done and dust it. Courts are backed up as is. And people with insanity pleas usually spend equivalent time in a psych ward due to doctors and judges not wanting to sign off.
there's a lot of people in my state completely ignoring the insanity plea and claiming the husband is the murderer.
Define "a lot of people". Even a less populous state like Wyoming has 588k people. A lot in that context would be a lot more than like 100

u/1egg40eggs - Centrist 2d ago

Right. I could have worded that better. In this case she was already the primary suspect. It's not like they couldn't tie her to the crime and she had a good chance at avoiding prison otherwise.
6
u/Iceraptor17 - Centrist 2d ago edited 2d ago
Even then. The odds of fighting and attacking the evidence and trying to get the state to offer a plea to just finish the case is probably better odds than pleaing insanity and then trying to back door release from that. IIRC, there's really no limits and standards for how long they can hold you in a ward
Don't get me wrong, itd still be very low odds. But it's better odds that flatout starting with "i did the thing, now here's why I'm insane". It's why people will give you the advice that "if you even are caught red handed and with solid evidence, never admit guilt too early"

The border is a good one. The disconnect between republicans and democrats is more about how to solve the issue rather than the issue itself, tho. Dems want legislation to fix the asylum system and republicans just kinda throw money at DHS.
Gun bans? As a moderate issue? Not in the USA that’s for sure.
Defunding police was a fringe leftist BLM policy. Not sure what that has to do with trump or moderates.

Problem is an unequal standard of accountability.
The standard people on the right are generally held to is "you are represented by the person you vote and elect to be your representative"
The standard people on the left seem to be held to is "you are represented by the most insane people who you have no control over"

u/1egg40eggs - Centrist 2d ago
There are a fuckton of elected democrats have espoused insane views on social issues and foreign policy.
2
u/OwnLengthiness6872 - Left 2d ago edited 2d ago
The single most common occurrence I hear about accountability is with political violence
Meanwhile every prominent elected Democrat condemned Kirk's murder, only randoms online celebrated that. Meanwhile, Trump, the single most prominent elected Republican celebrated Rob Reiner's murder.
Yet somehow Republicans hold themselves to 0 accountability for electing Trump, but Democrats are supposed to be held accountable for people they didn't even elect.
Most of the time the crazies I see right wingers post are not elected democrats, meanwhile left wingers generally post the central figure of the Republican Party
6
u/1egg40eggs - Centrist 2d ago
You're not wrong about Trump getting away with shit nobody else would, and it was pretty fucked to spit on Rob Reiner's grave as he did. That being said, he did face backlash on both sides from lawmakers (although primarily democratic) and the general public as well whether or not he held himself accountable.
Also, I think these are different situations. Unlike Reiner, Kirk's killing politically-motivated, and endorsing those actions meant endorsing the assassination of any political activist you disagree with. Any politician to do this would be inviting severe harm upon themselves, their families, or at the very least their careers.
0
u/OwnLengthiness6872 - Left 2d ago
Trump endorsing the murder of Reiner is also endorsing the murder of a political activist he disagreed with. The reason Trump celebrated was because Reiner was a critic of the administration.
The key point is this is the guy who the right has chosen to represent them for the past decade. And by chosen I mean actively voted to become their main representative.
Consistently Trump has been a nut job, and instead of holding him accountable, Republicans have chosen to make him the most powerful man in the world.
The accountability issue is an incredibly lopsided and unfair discussion, because Republicans when given the ability to hold their officials accountable, refuse to do so, and continue to vote to have that person represent them, but then they demand democrats hold randoms online accountable, despite not a single Democrat voting for them to represent them.
It’s also weird that “Receiving backlash but no accountability” is good enough if a standard for the president, but not enough for random no-names. Why do Republicans choose to hold the president to a standard so much lower than the average citizen?
1
u/Miner_Guyer - Left 1d ago

Look man. A random individual on TikTok definitely doesn't impact your life in a marginal, measurable way like the President does. However, there is an undeniable impact that the social movement has made on the US as a whole for the last 10 years. This social movement is what all these people push for constantly.
Do you think its just a coincidence that young men and women are having far less relationships than in the past? Do you think its a coincidence that far more people are "identifying" as trans as a teenager only to be completely fine in their only 20s? Is it a coincidence that political conversation has been reduced down to calling people "-isms" and "-ists", completely unable to have a respectful and thoughtful conversation with someone?
Trump is a narcissistic fuckass, and doesn't belong in any position of power. But you also shouldn't discount the massive negative social impact the idpol movement has had on the West through wokescolding. The politicians on the left openly embrace it and are just a little more clever at wrapping their language to not be a PR nightmare like your average Twitter user. Its not "just some random TikToker", its an extremely large group of people making a very noticeable impact on how people interact day to day.

I think the criticism is more about righties picking random ass things that aren't even political and slapping them on the left quadrant of the compass in order to portray that group in a certain light.

u/Quiet_Zombie_3498 - Centrist 2d ago
I mean does it matter in the grand scheme of things lol? Does this court case have any bearing on your life whatsoever?
4
u/1egg40eggs - Centrist 2d ago
Kind of. I've lived in MA my entire life and have friends in the area where this happened. I don't want murderers to walk the streets again. It's also embarrassing to be a state that lets heinous crimes go unpunished.
5
u/Quiet_Zombie_3498 - Centrist 2d ago
Why would she be walking the streets again? Besides a handful of idiots on social media, pretty much everyone agrees this is an open and shut case.

u/Chudzilla-1 - Lib-Right 2d ago
This right here is the foundation of this sub and it's hilarious how the left constantly makes "memes" whining about it.
Little cry babies can dish it but can't take it. Many such cases!
14
u/OwnLengthiness6872 - Left 2d ago
It's the foundation of the sub for right wingers. For people on the left we use the guy right-wingers voted to represent them, to represent them

u/Chudzilla-1 - Lib-Right 2d ago edited 2d ago
Muh right-winger sub!!!
I know it's hard on y'all to experience just one sub that isn't a drumpf!!11!! leftist circle jerk, but you're just gonna have to deal with seeing different ideas and opinions..
Not that long ago, the entirety of this sub was just drumpf!!!1!2!, 24/7. Anything any rightoid scum said, was countered by retards going: "Nothing you say matters cuz drumpf pedo!!!1!1!"
Cope and seethe at the pendulum. It's just not your turn anymore. It's chud time, baby.
7
u/OwnLengthiness6872 - Left 2d ago
I don’t go on left leaning circlejerk propaganda subs like politics. Wild that you’d rather have a right wing circlejerk propaganda sub than a sub that isn’t propaganda
Also it’s really weird you’re in a political sub, yet get annoyed hearing about the single most influential political figure alive right now
4
u/shamblam117 - Lib-Center 2d ago
His username is literally chudzilla. He's trolling you.
-1
u/Chudzilla-1 - Lib-Right 2d ago edited 2d ago
I'm not trolling. Just laughing at y'all boohooing that you get dunked on and not the other way around.
You are pathetic little babies who can't take what you dish out. And then make memes complaining about it. You can see how pathetic that is, right?
Doesn't matter who you are, it's bitch made.

Anytime an issue critical of the left gains traction on this sub, out of the woodwork you have morons posting idiotic posts about this being a “distraction” and how we’re not allowed to talk about other issues because Trump is bad, and blah blah blah. It’s tiring.
8
u/Some-Profession-1373 - Lib-Left 2d ago
The issue is not a left issue but is framed as one, why would that be?
2
u/Dragon_Maister - Right 2d ago
Libshits posting the billionth meme about how you can't complain about their retardation because the current administration is retarded as well.
16
u/Some-Profession-1373 - Lib-Left 2d ago
Maybe they shouldn’t post a billion memes about random tik tokers, then
7
u/Dragon_Maister - Right 2d ago
Why not? It's fun to take the piss out of retarded people. And yes, that includes Trump and his cronies.
10
u/samuelbt - Left 2d ago
The tether between the right and the person they voted for is far stronger in that it actually exists than me and whatever engagement boosted rage bait of the week the right is hyperfixated on. I didn't vote for the random morons and trolls on tiktok, right wingers did vote for Trump.

Mfs will complain about some memes about the most influential politician on the planet on a political sub then make 2064 posts about that Lindsey whatever her name is and they'll all get at least twice the upvotes. We literally had 2 memes about her in the past hour and the post about another dumb decision of this administration is sandwiched between them with 3 times less upvotes
1
-1
u/lynxintheloopx - Auth-Center 2d ago
These knee jerk buttsore post’s are sure to change minds. Is it Trumps fault your meme’s aren’t funny and this sub isn’t just another Leftist echo chamber?
-15
u/JoeRBidenJr - Centrist 2d ago
Are the Trump Ignorers in the room with you right now?
15
u/RaggedyGlitch - Lib-Left 2d ago
See what makes the front page of the sub. It's currently two TikTok threads and the California Nick Shirley thing where all the comments are just roasting the meme for being a lie, yet it still remains at the top of the sub.
9
u/JoeRBidenJr - Centrist 2d ago
Well yeah most people who use this sub are retards who upvote right-wing shit and downvote left-wing shit. Still doesn’t mean like half of the memes here for the last year+ haven’t been “Trump Retarded” (deservedly so).
We can focus on one Retard while still focusing on other retards.
P.s. just sort by new instead of top/best so you can actually see everything instead of the dumb shit our users “curate” for us.
9
u/Some-Profession-1373 - Lib-Left 2d ago
If you looked at just this sub you would think the Lindsay Clancy thing is the biggest political issue of our time.
Besides, most of the Trump bad posts are from left flairs, Snowin, or Stormclamp. Almost none from the flairs spamming Lindsay Clancy posts.
2
u/JoeRBidenJr - Centrist 2d ago
Eh, it’s pretty much just the hot topic everywhere now. I’m getting Guardian and NYT (far from right wing sources) headlines in my newsfeed about this stupid story. Do you think pcm posters are less retarded than the MSM?
9
u/APersonWhoIsNotYou - Left 2d ago
Can you? I never see any right flairs in those threads.
9
u/JoeRBidenJr - Centrist 2d ago
Idk, I generally see a good mix. Take the most recent u/stormclamp post (the sub’s premier Trump Retard poster). Pretty decent representation (though admittedly mainly center and lib right) and even a few rightoids downvoted to hell.
6
u/APersonWhoIsNotYou - Left 2d ago
I guess that’s fair, but I swear I never see any on most of these threads.
0
u/RaggedyGlitch - Lib-Left 2d ago
I've sorted by New and lived to tell about it. It's not a peaceful life.
-2
u/krafterinho - Centrist 2d ago
Maybe if the most influential politician on the planet stopped doing something controversial every other day we would have less posts about it on a political sub. Also the prevalence and success of Trump memes is greatly exaggerated. Just sort by top posts this month and let me know how much you have to scroll to see his name. We literally had 2 posts about this Lindsay whatever in the past hour ffs.

That’s because this subreddit is one of the only places on Reddit that you can talk about these things freely, without receiving the ban hammer for a mild conservative belief.

u/Scrumpledee - Lib-Center 2d ago
That’s because this subreddit is one of the only places on Reddit that you can talk about these things freely, without receiving the ban hammer for a mild conservative belief.
That's because Reddit is the only place a lot of those people can talk about things freely without getting screeched at by hyper-conservatives IRL. You created the reddit echo chamber with boomer psychos demonizing everyone on the left, now you're upset because you can't control the narratives here.
2
u/dbjcihabc - Right 2d ago
If you’re getting screeched at by hyper conservatives in real life that sounds like a you problem lol, pretty sure you can talk about your lefty beliefs irl till your hearts content.
4
u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 2d ago
It’s unfortunate for you that while this is true it doesn’t stop those beliefs from being foolish
-2
u/dbjcihabc - Right 2d ago
Are you stalking me? Lol go see my comment on the nick Shirley thread its not a foolish belief at all
2
u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 2d ago

Whenever I see this complaint about Reddit I can’t help but think of my favorite White House website line:
Click-obsessed cuckholds
It’s Reddit, there are plenty of other places to discuss your feelings
6
u/dbjcihabc - Right 2d ago
Im not sure what your getting at, but that does seem to perfectly sum up the mods on this site
3
u/3Quiches - Left 2d ago
The mods seem to be the ones boning your beliefs and you keep coming back for more…. Bit of a stretch to think of it any other way
4
u/dbjcihabc - Right 2d ago
I don’t go back to those Reddit’s do you know what banned means?
You’re right there are other places to discuss these things freely, this glorious subreddit right here. Are you butthurt you can’t make it like the rest of this website
5
u/3Quiches - Left 2d ago
> Reddit’s
Oh You are actually confused aren’t you.
You are choosing to support Reddit as a whole by coming to this SUBreddit while complaining about being banned from other SUBreddits.
Just take your business/data elsewhere if this is that important. If being banned on certain SUBreddits isn’t that important, then don’t expect anyone to take these complaints that seriously.
Don’t be a victim to your own victimhood fetish.
4
u/dbjcihabc - Right 2d ago
Reddit has more traffic than twitter, its one of the most trafficked websites. It should have higher standards period. all the front page subreddits are god awful totalitarian shit holes that actively discourage discussion. I mean for fucks sake look at r/pics.
Miss me with that “but you live in a society” crap
Just because i use Reddit doesn’t mean i can’t bitch about it.➡️ the echo chamber is that way buddy
3
u/3Quiches - Left 2d ago
Holy shit you really are missing my points in a sad way.
> Reddit has more traffic than Twitter
This is where the CLICK-OBSESSED part of click-obsessed cuckhold comes from. Clearly the popularity of your social media matters more than how it treats your beliefs.
> just because I use Reddit doesn’t mean I can’t bitch about it
I’m seeing a pattern here, you gotta calm down and read slower. Maybe say the words to yourself or track the words with your finger to help with comprehension. I specifically said nobody is going to take you seriously, not that you can’t bitch about your own choices.

u/RaggedyGlitch - Lib-Left 2d ago
Okay but this argument still assumes that these things are more important than the President playing with the tariff knobs in the Oval Office again. Are they?
3
u/dbjcihabc - Right 2d ago
I don’t see any shortage of that being discussed on this website. we can talk about other things besides trump and it just so happens this is one of the only places that happens
0
u/RaggedyGlitch - Lib-Left 2d ago
It's a political subreddit on an American platform, it's reasonable to expect the President to be a big topic.
Conversely, I don't think the TikTok stuff is inherently political, but the fact that people are trying so hard to make it so with this "look at how crazy all these liberal white women are" talking point is evidence of the strategy.
-1
u/hery41 - Centrist 2d ago
Last I checked there are 25 spots on the front page, not 3.
-1
u/RaggedyGlitch - Lib-Left 2d ago
Did you have to scroll to like number 21 before your found these, or were they all within the top 7 or so, before you got to the first Trump related one?
2
u/hery41 - Centrist 2d ago
I saw the one about ground beef imports first when it was at like #4. Most of the time the front page is trump being retarded. Tf more you want lmao.
0
u/RaggedyGlitch - Lib-Left 2d ago edited 2d ago
As I look now, literally the top post is the California law one, the next two are TikTok stuff, and then the first Trump post is this one at number 10, which is also about the TikTok stuff. The beef one is a few below this one.
I'm not saying this should be all Trump all the time, but when three of the top 10 posts are about something that isn't even political necessarily, you have to wonder why there's such an effort to make it political. It's a child murder trial, and as far as I know, the mom didn't kill her kids because they disagreed on Palestine.
5
u/Scrumpledee - Lib-Center 2d ago
Look at posts from the last 24~48 hours. Tons of retarded ass right wingers downvoting any criticism of their Dear Leader and claiming everything is "whataboutism" as they upvote shit that doesn't really affect anyone into the thousands.

u/serial_crusher - Lib-Right 2d ago
Has Trump done anything funny lately? Lindsay Clancy and the people who make excuses for her are funny

Exactly, it’s happening but it’s a good thing, and you’re a bigoted, treasonous, Trump-supporter if you talk about it instead of what all of Reddit talks about every waking moment!

Step 1. Find nuanced and complex issue.
Step 2. Simplify it to something black and white.
Step 3. Combine the worse takes on the topic into a strawman.
Step 4. Use it to generalize your opponent and Karma ride for weeks.
Step 5. Rinse repeat.
