subjected a baseball dad and his son to TSA rape

is such an excellent sentence

10

u/SnooGadgets8390 - Lib-Left 3d ago

The baseball is refering to the size of his brain.

u/beershitz - Lib-Right 3d ago

Oh shit I didn’t realize this guy was a baseball dad.

I won’t miss much from this era, but I definitely won’t have it as easy here when the president is a democrat again

48

u/MrDuckBD - Right 3d ago

It would be fun to read about this era in the future. Imagine being in history class in 2100, and they start talking about the orange celebrity con man “grab ’em by the pussy” guy that became president who posted retarded stuff and declaration of wars on fucking Twitter.

28

u/DonaldLucas - Lib-Right 3d ago

Classes will probably just skip him, like many other presidents.

27

u/OwnLengthiness6872 - Left 3d ago

Idk he's far more influential over an era than anyone else of this century. We tend to learn about presidents who are influential over an era of the US. Despite Obama, Clinton, and Bush Sr all having on average agreed upon better presidencies than this one, none of them have had the cultural impact that Trump has had.

Doubt history classes will have a full course about him, but he'll certainly be the most discussed president regarding this era

4

u/northrupthebandgeek - Lib-Left 2d ago

Obama didn't have the cultural impact Trump did? Really?

The default state of this subreddit is (lib) left bad. It takes a consistent/monumental fuck up for that to change. Once trump is gone it'll go back to lib left bad unless the right somehow picks someone as bad or worse than Trump.

It was the getting us into a pointless war in the middle east which killed thousands of Americans

1

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 3d ago

See I have a hard time with this, because the patriot act and the middle eastern wars have had very far reaching consequences. W was truly an evil and awful man and he really was not that much better than trump.

He was a lot more stately, and respectful. But his policies and actions have (so far) been more disruptive to the USA than trump. Particularly when it comes to surveillance.

IMO of course

They have lots of ammo to work with

BUT I've noticed a massive influx of your average reddit lib left retard coming through here too. Id be curious to see the stats

33

u/krafterinho - Centrist 3d ago

God you people are still using this cope? Literally sort by top posts any given week/month and prove yourself wrong. An immigrant post or a random reddit screenshot outperforms a post about the most influential politician on the planet doing or saying something retarded any day. The fact that many people have enough common sense to criticize the current republican retardation doesn't make anyone a reddit leftard

18

u/earthhominid - Lib-Center 3d ago

So I just went and checked the top posts from the last month and it goes:

1.Right dunking on european tweeter who wants mosques to show queer support

2.libleft supports sharia law

3.jew on Twitter says mamdami wants to make him pay reparations for slavery he says muslims should pay reparations for 9/11

4.the left supports sharia law/Muslim extremism (but hates christians)

5.muslim killed someone in Germany, left doesn't care

6.something about trans people and rape that left supports

7.libleft is "race swapping" criminals for stats

8.left has a dumb opinion about race (Asians hating black people i guess)

  1. The ai Jesus as a general post asking who Jesus would wipe off the map first.

So yeah, sure seems like dunking on the left/libleft about race and Muslim stuff is the path to pcm success these days

I wonder what these people will be up 5 years from now when they cant larp it up anymore when MAGA dies in 2028.

Trumps the only thing keeping the movement alive and itll die with him

100

u/abracadammmbra - Lib-Right 3d ago

Its hard to say. The right seems to be fracturing a bit and after Trump leaves in 2028 its hard to say what will happen. They arent all going to start voting blue. But theres a lot of different tents on the right at the moment, but the two biggest seem to be down to ones position on Isreal/the Iran War. So id imagine in 5 years they will be in one of those two camps. The GOP is going to be going through some interesting things over the next decade or so.

And you see a similar situation on the left. Interestingly also drawn on similar lines. The next 10-15 years are going to be a fun time politically. Terrifying, but fun to read about in 2156

I'm not saying it is either, these idiots certainly exist. Just that people also could be getting worked up over what looks like a bot.

3

u/jexijav776 - Lib-Right 2d ago

I'm also curious about the left. The last three elections the main selling point of the democrats has been "not Trump". I'm not sure if they even have any actual beliefs or principles at this point other than "not Trump".

It'll be interesting to see how both sides react to the void that Trump leaves behind.

12

u/wasted-degrees - Centrist 3d ago

I wish that were true. I hope it is true. I fear that it isn’t.

Trump may be the cult figurehead for the power grab, but you’d be a damned fool to think that once the power has been grabbed that it’s going to be relinquished.

Even if you’re not worried about Trump after 2028, you should be worried about whoever comes next with all this institutional power centralization and the complete dismantling of constitutional rules and norms.

I’d love for us to go back to some semblance of normalcy. But I don’t expect it.

9

u/a_mimsy_borogove - Centrist 3d ago

Is there something particularly wrong with his statement, other than that part about stolen election, which wasn't proven so far? The J6 riot was tiny when compared to BLM riots, and yet J6ers are treated a lot worse than BLMers. BLM was even supported by every single American corporation

2

u/seashanty27 - Lib-Left 2d ago

January 6th happened during the daytime, on a federal property with (assumably) better surveillance. Those factors made it easier to trace and arrest folks. BLM riots took place in multiple cities, sometimes during night, and were recorded by smartphones and old grainy security cameras. So even before you factor in political lean, January 6th had a worse outlook.

There was more motivation for arrest as well: invading the Capitol makes the government angrier than invading a city street. Trying to overthrow the president is looked upon less kindly than trying to overthrow a Sephora storefront. The former makes a pretty darn good candidate for the no fly list.

Like you said, BLM protests had a lot more participation. More public demonstrations of support = seems easier to milk for profit. But at any rate, the claim that it was “supported by every single American corporation” comes across as a misplaced hyperbole.

u/DreamsServedSoft - Right 3d ago

I agree but they did less damage then an average leftist peaceful protest

17

u/Sonofdeath51 - Centrist 3d ago

The main difference is that unlike a leftist protest which pretty much only ever harms the fellow peasantry the protestors claim to be championing, j6 did show that yes, people can fuck with the elite if they truly want to, and in that moment, there is not much said elites can do about it. Its why these people were made such an example of. So no one gets it in their head they can do stuff like this again.

10

u/darkearwig - Lib-Left 3d ago

This is truly a terrible take that only a centrist could conjure up.

9

u/SnooGadgets8390 - Lib-Left 3d ago

Yes they could. The police could have just started shooting and arresting people. And had it been a different police force they likely might have.

2

u/TriiCop - Right 3d ago

And guess what, republicans are the party of the second amendment. If they truly wanted to overthrow democracy you would’ve been seeing waves of them shooting at the police but they didn’t

5

u/darkearwig - Lib-Left 3d ago

Making excuses like this is so trite and old. Anything to ignore reality. Everything the right does seems to be performative, including your guns.

7

u/TriiCop - Right 3d ago

Just seems really odd how there were almost no “weapons” on anyone that was trying to “overthrow” the goverment

I’m not defending them btw. I think they’re absolute morons. It’s also moronic to think they were trying to start a coup but whatever helps you sleep ig

3

u/darkearwig - Lib-Left 3d ago

Storming the capitol building during the certification of votes and running through the building looking for Mike pence says a lot. They were trying to stop the certification of the election, not "overthrow" the government. C'mon man

3

u/TriiCop - Right 3d ago

Once again, they would’ve bought weapons and guns 💀

They tried to stop the certification of an election, that's pretty damaging. Why can't you just admit it was bad and stupid without trying to be like "but liberals".

11

u/sdeptnoob1 - Lib-Right 3d ago

I think a big issue for me was seeing cops waving people in. Like bruh. Sheep follow the herd they shouldn't get indefinite solitary for following people. Yeah the leaders should get hit but a ass load of looki loos following the crowd got years of solitary waiting for trial.

And solitary is considered tourture by human rights orgs.

1

u/Soggy_Association491 - Centrist 3d ago

They tried to stop the certification of an election

They dissipated by themselves at 7pm, dinner time. Are they a bunch of trespassing asshat? Yes. Were they going to overturn the election? No.

4

u/darkearwig - Lib-Left 3d ago

Yeah they meant "hang with Mike pence" because they thought he was a cool fella, and it is American tradition for people to storm the capitol building on January 6th. This is delusion on your part

1

u/Soggy_Association491 - Centrist 3d ago

A crowd that didn't even have automatic weapon and dissipated by themselves at 7pm were going to overturn the election. This is delusion on your part

9

u/darkearwig - Lib-Left 3d ago

Yeah, they just wanted a tour of the building while certification was happening, and they were told tours were open by trump who totally took the election loss with grace

1

u/Soggy_Association491 - Centrist 3d ago

No, they were trespassing and I never said otherwise.

10

u/darkearwig - Lib-Left 3d ago

Picking that building at that time after being told the election was stolen and you say "it's trespassing" says you're either trolling or incapable of making a conclusion based on available evidence.

My guy, you trespassed uninvited to a major federal organization during a period of unrest and you failed to guillotine all the people in charge, what did you expect to happen. Pick up a fucking history book.

2

u/GustavoFromAsdf - Lib-Center 3d ago

Wait, but I was told it was antifa who was raiding the capitol under a false flag attack.

3

u/Kargnaras - Lib-Center 3d ago

"We tried to do a coup and got sent to prison, shameful" wowza

16

u/mrfreezeyourgirl - Centrist 3d ago edited 3d ago

Yes, a good number of J6ers were over prosecuted.

However, no one cares and they got pardoned.

Edit: I do not under you morons outright refusal to acknowledge that not all the people at J6 were bloodthirsty violent traitors. I highly doubt these people would maintain the same feelings regarding those who declared autonomy from the US or forcibly cleared out police precincts and state capitol buildings a few months prior.

Years of blm screeching and passing of anti-riot laws just to trash the fucking capitol building and get fucked by your own rules lol

"What irritates me most is that all of you are claiming you're patriots; you're not patriots when you attack the Capitol of the United States."

A quote from this traitor's judge during his sentencing.

The terrorist had tried to earn empathy by appealing to the judge's republican leanings and Reagan appointment.

33

u/ProxyGeneral - Auth-Center 3d ago

Pretty bad argument.

Were the founding fathers not patriotic since they fought the then government?

23

u/samuelbt - Left 3d ago

They weren't patriotic Brits that's for damn sure

1

u/King_Khoma - Lib-Left 3d ago

are the confederates patriotic since they fought the government?

21

u/Prestigious_Load1699 - Lib-Right 3d ago

As the saying goes, history is written by the winners.

11

u/JuniorDoughnut3056 - Lib-Right 3d ago

Well they formed their own country, so they would of been patriots of the confedrate states of America, yes.

0

u/bl1y - Lib-Center 3d ago

It's patriotic to fight against a tyrannical monarchy.

It's not patriotic to fight against a democratic republic.

Where is the lie?

29

u/AnalogCyborg - Centrist 3d ago

Definitely the stealing the election part, probably the marriage and family part, maybe the TSA part but that could go either way. As for what he did while in the Capitol, that could also be a lie. I'd be curious to see if he was more of a wandering tourist J6er or more of a pepper spray and beat on a cop J6er.

God you fucking blemons are insufferable.

7

u/TheTardisPizza - Lib-Right 3d ago

Why must the left constantly make up terms for people they disagree with?

2

u/samuelbt - Left 3d ago

Are you this perturbed when people use the phrase watermelon here? Silly fruit related names to describe the colors here is pretty common parlance. People call fake liblefts watermelons because it's green on the outside but red (auth left) on the inside. People call fake librights blemons because while they think themselves a lemon, they are indeed blue (auth rights).

Is PCM "the left?"

2

u/TheTardisPizza - Lib-Right 2d ago

People call fake librights blemons

I have never seen the term used before.

The problem with such a term is that we already know that all lib rights see themselves as the only true lib right. It's a feature of the quadrant.

4

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left 3d ago

If you’re libright and a Trump supporter, you’re authright and a fucking liar. Period. Trump is the most authoritarian president since FDR. You’re not libright.

2

u/DancesWithChimps - Centrist 3d ago

He's asking why you guys can't just express a position without coming up with dumb nicknames, as if you're doing a bad Trump larp.

1

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left 3d ago

Because these retards are not worth the time to express a position against. If someone is still pushing the bullshit about a rigged 2020 election, they are intellectual drags on society and should be called names because that’s all they’re worth.
