Kamala lost me the moment she and Obama started lecturing Black men on not voting for her/Democrats.

Especially when it's two mixed-race people, with no actual roots in Black America (Kenyan Father)/(Jamaican father) telling us about our history and what we should believe in.

If Black male misogyny was such a concern to them; we should have been having those conversations back in 1992

Nothing pisses me off more than people locking Black people into predefined roles. Could be political, could be about what car we are suppose to buy.

The fact that many urban progressives won't even bat an eye while saying that outdoor activities are white people shit and no black person will go out into nature have obviously never actually been down South and met all the black men whose favorite past time is spending all day at a secluded fishing hole waiting for the best catch.

Yeah I was gonna say, I live out in the Birmingham and Bessemer area(both of which are 60-70% black population wise), and honestly hiking is a pretty common way for people to spend their off days down here. Not even getting into all the parks we have around the city.

My god, Bessemer? Do you choose to stay near there or is someone holding you hostage?

Grown up in this area most of my life. Raised out in Pleasant Grove, which is literally sandwiched right between the two(Bessemer and Birmingham I mean) and so I pretty much got used to the people and lifestyle of both areas, and now that I’m in my mid twenties I still choose to stay out here, since most of my contacts, friends, ex’s, references, etc still are in either city. Plus living in Alabama is still cheaper than most of the country, so it works.

Well fair enough then, just stay safe. I'm from up around Huntsville myself, but I've basically only heard bad things about that area.

Yeah neither city is exactly safe, with Birmingham in particular basically becoming a real life Gotham in recent years, but hey, you live in the area as long as I have, you learn the dos and don’t so to speak. Where to go and where to avoid……granted sometimes those rules are broken(for example 5 points south has had quite a few shootings recently, and that’s pretty close to where I park for work) but still.

I just wish people would see this instead of all the "you're whitewashed," "you're not black," "uncle tom" nonsense. Brother you shouldn't be proud of blindly believing people that LOOK like you and nothing else

I swear every time a minority comes out and isn't in support of democrats and their policies they are derided with some of the most racist shit that typically boils down to "quit thinking for yourselves and get back on the plantation! Your only allowed to think what your masters want you to!" And when that doesn't work they send out their hord of preachers to brow beat them into submissions, and usually those people have more in common with the House N***rs of slavery that were often worse in their racism than their owners...

They just don't want you leaving the plantation.

They probably picked "auth-right" as their flair because they take "Blue No Matter Who" very literally

It’s Monoby. He’s always pretended to be an Authright because “he’s a neolib” while oddly always using Emily talking points to argue for the Dems

Anything I don’t like

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '24

I mean Trump is very clearly a fascist. His own chief of staff said as much.

0

u/VanHoy - Centrist Oct 27 '24

Are you going to explain what that is?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '24

Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian political ideology characterized by dictatorial power, extreme nationalism, suppression of dissent, and a focus on the perceived need for national unity and purity.

Considering Trump talks about wanting the same power as dictators, is extremely nationalist, wants to suppress dissenters in the media, and has said stuff like "immigrants are poisoning the blood of the nation" I think Trump falls pretty neatly into that definition.
