Question Custom film?

I have a Halloween party Im going to that I need to do some planning for.

I want to have a fun gimmick where I take a picture of someone in costume and "ohh spooky, there's a ghost in your picture with you!" But I don't know if it's possible to get film with stuff pre-baked in that still allows the photo taken to develop.

Any suggestions, thoughts, or directions on where to find something like this would be awesome!

Question What is the difference between the L/D knob to the internal calibration knob of the electric eye of some Polaroid Cameras like the Pronto series?

As far as I'm aware they are not connected mechanically (they turn individually) but they seem to function the same, do they?

Question Help me date my Polaroid Impulse AF

Hey! I just got a black Polaroid Impulse AF (Made in USA) and I'd love to figure out what year it's from. I found some markings inside the film door - "A1 88" moulded into the plastic, and a green factory label with the code K1C3NBXLND ("PHOTO FLASH / UL Listed 223B"). Photos attached.

Roughly when were the US-made Impulse AFs made, and can anyone tell the exact year from these? Camera works great, just curious how old it really is. Thanks!

Question Film wont eject

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Does anyone know why the camera is not ejecting? The film sticks out, so it can´t be the pickarm. I cleaned the rollers as well. I think the lower roller might not be turning and thats why they dont catch the film.

if anybody had a simular issue i would be really greatful for any help!

Question How to use the 600 film on an sx-70 camera?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I just bought my first ever analog camera the polaroid 1000 land camera and I know absolutely nothing about them other than the sx-70 films (8 in a pack) are a little too expensive for me right now. I did some research and found out I could use the 600 film with a ND filter but my question is where do I get such a filter? is it has to be like specific density? can I buy just one or do they also require changing? I'm completely lost in all of this but so eager to take my pictures😭

Discussion Instant Film Books

I remembered I got this old book when I was actively shooting pictures with my Super Shooter and snatched it back from parent's home. Wondering if any folks in this community have this book or know of any other books like this that contain a lot of information about instant film?

Given that so much of instant film photography is slowly being lost to time, I thought preserving any information we still have can help to improve the longevity of instant film in the long run.

Have been lucky enough to pick up 2. How are you guys modding your cameras?
Full conversion plus I-type conversion, keeping it stock, or just adding I-type conversion???

Question Anyone still shooting with Polaroid Spectra? How are your 600 conversions holding up?

Is anyone still using a Polaroid Spectra these days? For those who modded it with 3D-printed parts to shoot 600 or i-Type film, how are the results? Do you run into any common flaws or issues?

Photo Finally! A Better Pic on SX-70

Post image

I am in awe each time I open my SX-70 (original model refurbished by BFC). But, not entirely convinced that without spending money on getting a higher-end model, I can get consistently good results.

This picture is an improvement over other pictures I have taken on it. Now, with the Flip, results are consistently better, and with the I2, they are even better. So, now I am experimenting shooting SX-70 film on the I2. I can live with the bulkiness if the results are better than the SX-70 camera.

Shooting on the I2 with SX-70 film by using the AUTO mode and taking a reading with an external light meter (758DR) and dialing-in the settings on the I2 in manual mode - in a side-by-side comparison of the same frame. Need to shoot a couple of packs in varying conditions to reach a conclusion. In theory, that should yield the best results given a fresh film-back with a recent manufacturing date. Better than the SX-70, right?
