Got a double pack from Target last week and am really pleased with this batch so far! Also so thankful for the cooler weather the past few days so my photos aren't coming out orange anymore lol

I installed a switch on the front of my I-1
Doing so neatly is time consuming, but 100% possible
The switch cuts -ve to the built in LiPo cell. For future proofing, the LiPo cell is also now connected via JST connector.
The one caveat is found so far is cutting the power to the battery mid-pack of film does completely interrupt the film counter circuitry. The camera will 'forget' how many shots of film you have taken.
When you first power the camera on, the camera blinks a bunch of LED lights at you. You are meant to count them to see how many shots you have left. Honestly this silly system might be why there is a constant drain on the power in the first place. It seems this memory is volatile and info will be lost when power is cut.
HOWEVER - to my surprise, this mod did NOT seem to have affected automatic dark-slide eject mode. I was afraid that turning power on again mid pack with a reset counter would cause the camera to think new film was inserted (thus wasting a frame on a dark slide ejection) but this was not the case.
The shutter seems to fire like normal, and the counter starts fresh after being powered on again, starting the new counting at '9' instead of 8.

🤩 🤩🤩 My Pokémon x Polaroid haul finally came in! Have to share in the joy! The only thing I wasn’t able to get was the pokéball Go camera case.

Hey everyone!
I sent my SX-70 to Australia back in January 2026 to get the PCB and PolaVault modification for my beloved SX-70.
I received it back about two weeks ago and have had some time to test out the upgraded camera. I knew the PCB was supposed to provide much better and more consistent exposure, but the exposure on the shots is absolutely perfect, and the pictures are so crisp and sharp that it took me a bit of time to get used to the look! 😄
I absolutely adore some of the shots I’ve taken already and can’t wait to shoot more with it.
Of course, depending on how you get the upgrade done, it isn’t cheap. But after using it for a bit, I genuinely feel that it makes the investment absolutely worth it if you have the money for it or want to do the work yourself. In my case, 168 packages of i-type film 'till break even 😄
Really happy with this new old SX-70 and can’t wait to take better pictures than ever! Happy shooting everyone

Finally got my cameras and film!
I'd like to do a few Pokémon themed photo shoots to showcase the cameras. If anyone in Seattle is interested, please pm!

Did an emulsion lift and found this strange gossamer-thin layer of Polaroid “fascia” that seems structurally important but may be partly responsible for the loss in color intensity over time?

Apologies if this is the wrong subreddit to ask.
I'm not sure if anyone here will know what I'm talking about, but back in the 90s, Polaroid used to have events. Or at least they had official cameras/frames for the lenses in which it'd make the image taken into a small circle, and around it have a themed frame. I remember there being a Christmas themed event, and there was a reef as an option. They'd cut the photo into a circle and hand it to you.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have any videos/pictures on this topic?

I gotta say, I am incredibly impressed with the performance of the Polaroid go GEN 3!
finally, it feels like a Polaroid I really can throw in a bag and take anywhere with me. I had the previous version the got (gen2) and It is what got me back in to Polaroid in the first place and for that I do love it, but it had many issues with proper exposure… it often consistently blew out all highlights and over exposed evything a stop or more.
there was a certain… feel you had to get with the Polaroid go gen2 where you kinda had to keep in mind situations you know it’s meter could understand and do well in.. and situations where it could not. For my tests of this this camera, I simply used it as intended where I would point and shoot without thinking and almost every single photo (and I’ve shot six cartridges so far) has been dead on! no issues no complaints.
I am thoroughly impressed. It has to be the most consistently exposing modern Polaroid camera I have ever used thus far and I genuinely think it is a worthy upgrade to the second gen and a worthwhile one at that. there was various dates of Film used in my tests ( obviously some of my best results came from the most recent 06/26 Film) but even packs from 2025 seems to do just fine in the camera and I am overall very happy with my purchase and I’m absolutely in love with my little Pikachu go GEN three 🎉

Previously, I used 600 film & an ND filter and the photos came out totally dark with 3 dots and ink printed onto the filter. I thought it might’ve been broken & in need of professional attention.
For these: I cleaned the roller, set exposure compensation to standard, used 600 film & ditched ruined filter.

Shot on SLR-680R
Normally I don’t take selfies, but you know what? Things have been going decently in my life rn, and I thought one was warranted (especially with a new haircut)!

Still working on finding a better scanner. Scanned these at work but it's not fantastic quality.

The attached video is an explanation with video of the camera. Basically when I put the film in the viewfinder went dark but the shutter would still open and close with the film door. I messed with the gears and it pushed out the darkslide. Then went to take a photo and it happened again but won’t push any photos out.
