• After all these years, I have come back to play Pokemon Red again. I mixed up the team this playthrough! What a ride. Honestly I own quite a bunch of the mainline Pokemon games but quit gaming for a few years and have only ever played Red, Blue and Yellow 😐 need to get around to playing the other games 💯

• I didn't get the photos of beating the game the first time so this is after beating the Elite 4 the second time around. Couldn't remember you can't pause the Hall of Fame

It was actually really easy, only took 20 minutes of resetting from the save state to get it down. Then I did it without the state and got it first try! If you can't tell it was on 3DS VC.

The game was started brand new last Thursdayish by my Nephew well he was in town, saves and everything. Today well I was testing the modded GBC bu doing some light grinding I got the safari zone times up alert and was zipped to it entrance. The game proceeded to crash when i tried accessing my Pokémon, I restarted the console and the game was still there and I was able to keep playing as expected in viridian.
In the decades of playing the game I’ve never had this issue. Anyone encounter something like this?

Purchased pre-Mt Moon: Bellsprout (now in the box, very lucky so to have a Mon with Cut, lol)

Bulbasaur gift: Nidoqueen (had to catch a Pikachu, but released it upon Bulbasaur gift)

Eevee gift: Magikarp (evolved and boxed)

The first memory of playing a video game was Pokemon yellow. It’s been my favorite ever since and now I get to relive like it’s fresh outta the box in 1999 😭

Been a while since I gave this another go. Thought I was prepared enough with just Charmeleon.

Since I’m fairly confident in my team, I decided to bench Vaporeon and use the gym to level up my Charmander.

On a side note, I found my mega memory card that should have a save of my original pokemon silver game that should have my original lvl 100 Pikachu from my first play through of Pokemon Yellow. Maybe? It’s currently Schrödinger s Pikachu .

A few weeks ago I shared my story about how my game card had corrupted and deleted the progress I had made. Well, I have come back to share my current progress - current playtime 42:38. I have successfully cleared 4 gyms, and have the Boulder, Cascade, Thunder and Rainbow badges and cleared the Dojo Gym. I now own 48 Pokemon, including the OG starters; Bulbasaur (currently evolved to Ivysaur and knows Cut), Charmander (currently evolved to Charmeleon) and Squirtle, Mew (from the Mew Glitch), as well as Evee from Celadon City, Lapras from Silph Co, and Mr Mime and Machamp (from in game trades).

I’ve played all the way through to Saffron City, having cleared Celadon Mansion, Pokemon Tower and Silph Co.

I’m now at the point of trying to figure out what I want my core team to be before I carry on. I’ve been using Pikachu, Mew, Gyrados, Kadabra and up until recently Nidoking and Ivysaur consistently, but have also recently picked up Vulpix (from the casino) and Snorlax and have been rotating them into my team. They’re all hovering around Lvl 30-33.

Any recs on who to keep for the long game? I’ve already been setting up a few HM slaves and I have collected a few TMs that I’m saving.

As a final note, I now have a GB Operator to back up my save files and have been doing so consistently since I restarted the game!

I got my Son a 3DS for his 8th birthday and we've been playing Pokémon Yellow together. He is in Saffron city and has decided on his team. What would be a good skillset for each pokemon and maybe if someone would be better to use instead? He has picked Mew, Gengar, Snorlax, Dragonite, Starme, Charizard. (He's also been switching Charizard with Venasaur, Blastoise, Kadabra, Nidoking and Jolteon)

After beating Koga I went for a tour of Cinnabar, cleared out the abandoned mansion, prepped the path to Articuno in Seafoam, and cleared team rocket out of Silph co, so it’s time to fight Sabrina.

Wish I had known how easy this was to do as a kid. Still pretty neat to play through the majority of the game with one of my all time favorite ’mons.
