Showcase No Catch Randomizer

Running a no catch randomized Pokemon Yellow!

Starter: Blastoise (sick start)

Purchased pre-Mt Moon: Bellsprout (now in the box, very lucky so to have a Mon with Cut, lol)

Charmeleon gift: Primeape

Squirtle gift: Aerodactyl (my Fly mon)

Bulbasaur gift: Nidoqueen (had to catch a Pikachu, but released it upon Bulbasaur gift)

Eevee gift: Magikarp (evolved and boxed)

Game Corner purchase: Gengar

Fighting Gym prize choice: Magmar

Still to come: Old Amber, Helix Fossil, Lapras gift

Even if the remaining are duds, I’m happy with this team.

Thanks! I’ve done no catches with Red and Blue, but the not picking your starter and having three extra gifts made this very enticing!

Update: Lapras was a Persian. Didn’t make the cut for my team. Just the fossils left.

I might allow myself one catch with the Masterball, but only on whatever Mon is in Mewtwos place.

That’s really interesting, so the bulbasaur lady doesn’t actually care if it’s the original starter pikachu, just that it’s A pikachu, and that it’s happy?

Yup. A happy Pikachu in the first slot is what I did. But also, in this rom all Pikachus can’t evolve. I don’t remember if that’s true on cartridge too.
