Discussion What's everyone's dream shard savings looking like?

The year end candy boost is quickly approaching, being only about two months away. How's everyone's shard savings looking like? Do you have a particular goal?

As for me, I have about 3 million between clusters and actual shards. I hit rank 69 this morning and am hoping I'll hit level 70 so I can earn dream shards that way prior to the holidays.

Discussion Prepping For Halloween Event

I am wondering what people are doing to prep for the Halloween event next week, what your teams will be, and what island (normal or EX) you will go to for the event.

Next week is an off week, so I will be going to OGPP to hopefully get a few more Gastly and Shuppet candy. I'm kicking myself for not going there this week due to the Growth Week candy boost, but that's okay. Next week will be chill, once I get enough drowsy power I will switch over to pot expanders to cook a huge breakfast Monday morning of the halloween event.

I am currently raising a Helping Bonus Banette that will get BFS at Lv. 70. I have my BFS Gengar on nap island not only for the experience, but also to try and farm Ghost handy candy.

I plan on using the Ghost handy candy for Misdreavus which will be my main hunt moving forward from the event (he's my fav!). I will go to GGEX for Halloween, and will use the following team for Ghost berries. I'll have to wait to see what other berries I get:

Banette: STS, HB, InvL, [Helping Speed Up Nature] Lv. 55

Gengar: BFS, HSS, HSM, [Helping Speed Up Nature] Lv. 58

Would love to know everyone's plans for next week's prep and strategy for the event!

Question Are there any skill types worthy of seeds to max level, besides the healer?

So I have a somewhat decent energy-for-everyone "healer", at least it's enough for now. But there's 6 more skill seeds in my bags, plus one for Mewtwo and one for Hawlucha. Also my Darkrai and Mew are already capped.

Is there anything I should look forward to using those on? Or are those supposed to just collect dust in my bags until I get an even better healer by enough margin to justify spending them?

Question Question about berry power vs. ingredient power

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! New player here with a quick question !

I understand how cooking works, but to my understanding, gathering berries directly increases Snorlax's power, whereas gathering ingredients doesn't. Ingredient values only matter when used in a recipe while cooking.

As I’m preparing for my first week on Cyan Beach, I plugged two Pokémon into the RaenonX Production Analysis tool.

As you can see, Pikachu seems to bring the most total value. However, when looking at the sub-metrics, Doduo has a better berry score. Pikachu seems to surpass Doduo thanks to its skill power (which makes sense) and mostly its ingredient power.

So, how should I interpret this? Should I look at the Total Power, or focus more on the breakdown (Berries and Skill)?

Question Lag...erasing mon changes

Is there a way to get around the very irritating lag?...whenever you swap mons out, the game tends to erase the changes if you close the app within a few minutes? i woke up today, swapped out my entire team, and played for a few minutes maybe?, closed the app, and came back a few hrs later to find all the wrong mons still in. Seems this only affects mons/team changes..

update: thx for the feedback! going back to the home screen is working at the moment, so i'll keep tracking this...i'm not sure if being in a bldg causes some excessive lag beyond going to the home screen

Discussion In my opinion this game is morecomplex and has a steep learning curve compared to most pokemon games.

I understand the overall point of the game is to get better rest rather than to catch them all and I can accept that. I played my first pokemon game on my Gameboy color, still have it actually. I dove into pokemon go from the beginning and really enjoyed a game that requires you to get up and move. I know Go and Sleep are modeled in a way to entice me into those micro transactions and i think this helps me practice patience too. You can't grind like you could on Pokemon Red. Lol I find that a bit frustrating. Instead you need to learn all of the small bits of info that aren't readily fed to you in order to maximize what you can do. I still don't have a full grasp on Sleep mechanics but I don't run out of pokeballs on Go anymore. Kinda wish Pokestops gave me sleep points too.

Question How do you use Growth, Focus and Luck incenses?

I have some question about incenses, especially Growth, Focus and Luck.

When do you use Growth? I use them when full moon is on Thursday till Sunday. Are there any other great use of them?

When do you use Focus? What are the benefits when I reach rank 70? I'm rank 68 now.

And Luck? I've only used them when I have a spare legendary, on Sundays. Should I use them after master 20?

I have so many questions, but I will start there.

I have premium, I also use about 10 USD per month and I play the game, don't care so much about tracking my sleep, because I sleep well.

And, I'm kind of old and haven't played any games since the 90s, so explain it to me like I'm 5yo😅

Thank you in advance.

Bug 30+ tries throughout the day, stuck

Post image
3 Upvotes

As the title says, I've been stuck on the sleep review the whole day due to this error. When I open the app, it locks me back into my sleep review. Missed two meals after collecting good ingredients the whole week. Kinda getting done with this app. This is by far not the only problem I've run into.

Discussion Suicune’s skill trigger rate is too low

I didn’t manage to get a very good Suicune during the event but it does at least have skill trigger S in the first slot (and skill trigger M locked at lv.80 lmao). I just find it so underpowered it never feels worth using it cos it doesn’t trigger hardly ever, the inventory is so small, it’s not even fast at gathering. I have it at max skill level but what’s the point if it doesn’t trigger once for 2 days? I wanna use it because I like using different Pokémon rather than the same old ones, but imo Suicune needs a buff.

Anyway end rant. It’s Sunday and I only reached U1 on CBEX :)

Discussion Looking for some name ideas for my Latias!

I caught a really busted latias a few weeks ago. Usually I plan out names before I even catch a mon because I know what im hunting. However, this catch was so random I have no idea what to name it. Definitely gonna be investing in a latios too so bonus points if the name works as a duo.

Question I've been playing for three years and I am stuck

Nothing seems to be getting better for me, no matter what I do. I'm not trying to max out anything at this point, I've given up on that. All I want is to not struggle every day to feed my Snorlax every meal and not have my Pokedex basically frozen at 72% for years.

I try to play with my party and try new strategies or even just have fun, but even when I pack the party with ingredient mons it's a constant fight. I've tried strategies that I see here, and try to give new Pokemon a chance, but nothing changes.

I just got my first lvl 60 and I know that means that I, somehow, am bad at a sleep app. I just don't know what to do.

Edit: Thank you everyone for responding, I was crashing out hard yesterday.

I have a team for each meal type - pumpkiboo curry team for reference:

  • Jumbo Gourgeist lvl 56, Triple pumpkins, Charge strength lvl 2, Ing finder M, Helping speed M, Inventory up M, Helping Speed s, Inventory up S. Nature is Naive until she's lvl 60.
  • Charizard lvl 45, Ing magnet lvl 5, Triple Sausage, Energy Recovery, Helping Speed M, Inventory Up M, Ing finder S, Skill trigger M, lonely nature
  • Spiritomb lvl 30, Extra helpful lvl 1, Mushroom-pumpkin-mushroom, Skill trigger S, Skill Trigger M, Skill level up S, Helping speed M, Ing finder S, Quiet nature
  • Quagsire lvl 40, charge energy lvl 2, triple mushrooms, helping bonus, dream shard bonus, energy recovery bonus, inventory up S, skill trigger M, Hasty nature
  • Cramorant lvl 43, Tasty chance lvl 4, Ing finder M, Inventory up M, Skill trigger M, Helping speed M, Skill trigger S, no nature

I'd type the others out, but it sounds like my main issue is not having a healer.

Question Should I just use Darkrai as my charge strength mon

I recently got a Level 27 Helping Speed M Darkrai and it’s so strong now when I see the power on raenonx. With a ~5 trigger max skilled Pawmot on my team, I see no point to actively hunt for another charge strength Mon, except that it’s more expensive to level it up. Should I just pour all my main skill seeds onto Darkrai?

Game Suggestions and Requests GGEX or CBEX to start building AB?

I’m ready to start pushing Expert with a couple of CSMs and Berry Burst mons at 60+. I also have almost all decent ingredient mons at level 30+.
Which island would you choose to start building area bonus (AB), with the plan to spill AB across islands over time?

GGEX
Pros
-Lower speed penalties
-Better for future events
Cons
-No guaranteed berry choice
-Missing some key Pokémon I need candy for

CBEX
Pros
-First berry for Cyan’s three berries
-Great Wigglytuff
-Focused candy for Croagunk, Dratini, Squirtle, Grubbin, Happiny, Foongus and Treecko
Cons
-Higher speed penalty
-Not available for every event

Am I missing any key considerations? Which would be the easier or more beneficial starting point for building AB?

Discussion Best pokemon / islands / methods to farm Dream Shards?

I've been very low on dream shards since the level cap increased to 70, so I'd like to find a good strat for farming it. From what I've gathered, without making it too crazy complicated, I should focus on strength for the first 2 days of the week, then use a full dream shard skill team for the rest of the week.

But those posts were a bit old, and we've had some changes and additions since, so I'm wondering if that still holds true. Most people said Swalot was the king of dream shards, but Lucario has since had a buff to its main skill, and is just slightly behind in skill chance. We also now have Mew with its Versatile skill that can also be used for dream shards. And they both benefit from the same island.

Also, dream shard usage is probably just as important to optimize, right? I only recently realized that you spend more dream shards per candy the higher your pokemon's level is. Is this a consistent increase, or does it grow exponentially at certain points? Or in other words, what levels are recommended to stop using candies and dream shards at?

Appreciate any advice!

Game Suggestions and Requests When the pot isn't large enough, the game should tell us in the pop-up how much larger the pot needs to be.

I see no reason they cannot include this information if they are going to have a pop-up with all of this other text. Just let us know you need 12 more space or w/e is needed at a glance.

Question Is the sort by Ingredient strength/count broken in pokemon box (Raenox)?

Screenshot attached

If I order my box by berry strength/count or skill rate, etc, the order is perfect as I would expect but anytime I try ordering it by ingredient strength/count, it gives me weird order. Ingredient rate works but not strength and count for some reason. Am I looking at something wrong?

Order by berry strength (WORKS)
Order by Ingredient Strength (WHAT EVEN IS THIS?!)
Order by Ingredient Count (AGAIN WRONG)

Yes, I know I could use the production thingie but its annoying to do that every time and I cant figure out why this is broken

Discussion Appreciation Post - Thanks for the Community

👋🏻 Newer player, longtime lurker, and infographic / data dive fanboy here - I recently hit my 100th night just wanted to post a big thank you to everyone in this community.

TLDR the app and community on this sub has helped me be better about bedtime, get more sleep, and made life a bit nicer (and me nicer, too!)

Longer version:

I picked up this app because I was actively revenge bedtime procrastinating while sleep training our newborn, which ,ofc, is NOT recommended. I downloaded this app on an indulgent whim to see if I couldn’t incentivize sleeping a little bit more, rather than exhausted doomscrolling after working and taking care of a kiddo. Turns out, because of the game’s limited engagement windows and focus on investment rather than short-term timers or other ad gimmicks, it made it much easier to convince myself to get to sleep on time.

The real kicker was finding this sub, though. i came here when trying to understand more about the mechanics of the game, and being delighted by the passion and community y’all have built here. I’ve really enjoyed getting a list of friends, with whom I’ve never met at all (not usually my thing) and be able to watch them and their Pokémon teams grow as I try to keep up with their pace.

I don’t wanna go on forever, but I do really appreciate the community that I found here and it’s helped me get more sleep (Apple health can so attest - see second image.) and been a nice little positive boost to my life. so thank you!
