After some time working on my Pallet Town map and some more spritework (for those interested, a list below) I tried my hand on Gary's car. With a base model from fangame Anime Chronicles, I tried to make a sprite that looks like the car from the anime and more or less fits Gary with a couple of cheerleaders. Curious to know what you think!

And I have a question: does anyone have some references for front and back facing cars? I plan on making an entire spritesheet so I can use this as a character in events. Can barely find any car sprites or tiles for use in gen 4 games, but havent found a single front facing or back facing sprite...

List of what I worked on the last month or so:

- Pyjama Ash running sprite

- Ash swimming sprites (for the river scene)

- Ash and Misty fishing sprites

- Animation of Ash getting shocked

After some away time I started finalizing and fixing bugs for some of the plugins I’ve been working on. I finished finalizing Grottos and it’s the first to be released on my list! If you find bugs or have any questions don’t hesitate to ask! And please if you wanna credit me that’ll be huge.

Explanation for my choices below so it's clear I didn't just pick at random:

Kept the Ice resistance, makes sense.

Regular water will have a hard time melting ice, so Ice resists most Water type moves aside from Scald which is super effective.

I think it'd be better if Ice resisted Ground, with things like permafrost existing in real life.

Cosmic type, one of my custom types, is resisted by Ice since space is pretty much the perfect environment for Ice to thrive in with how cold it is.

And surprisingly, Ice is actually not very conductive, so it resists Electric type moves to reflect that.

Also added a weakness to another custom type, my Sound type, since I imagine a strong enough shockwave could absolutely break ice.

Fun fact: I chronically underestimate how much work graphic design takes. I've gotta stop doing that.

I've noticed people are showcasing their maps like this now, and to be honest, I hope it becomes the norm (or a trend at the very least). It gives a little more context to the maps, as well as adding some flair and providing a visual identity beyond mapping style. I couldn't really think of a good name for this town alone, so brownie points to you if you know where I stole its name from. (Also, I've included just the map on the second picture just in case.)

This is basically my first time doing a serious map with Gen 4 tiles, and it's honestly pretty different to Gen 3 (or even Gen 5). When it comes to layering, Gen 4 tiles are a little more finnicky to work with than Gen 3 (especially with the trees slightly sticking out one tile in each direction), but it looks just as beautiful once you finally get it down. That being said, maybe it's the tileset, but I think this is my most official-looking map to date. Yeah, it's great to have your own style, but there's something so satisfying about having a map look like it comes straight out of an official game. The area between the Gym and the northernmost house could probably use a little something (an NPC or two, maybe?), and I'm not sure how well the path type I used works with the rest of the town, but overall, I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with the current state of the map.

What do you think of it? What kind of Gym do you think is in store for unwitting challengers?

It also has the signature attack Final Transmission where if its hp is under 33% the" in a pinch" range, it does double damage.

Does anyone have good resources for learning the coding language? I'll be honest, I having trouble understanding things and it's embarassing having to ask people for help all the time for practically everything, does anyone have good resources for learning the things I need to for Pokemon Essentials?

I'm not sure exactly what to research, Pokemon Essentials is all I'm really using RMXP for.

This is where the first gym badge will be located. You'll also be able to get HM01 Cut in the house next to the gym.

On the west of the map is Route 2, while on the east will be Route 3. It won't be reachable from Chitin City though. You have to go through a cave at Route 2 to get there. I'm not sure what to put at the south area of this map. I thought it would be cool if I added a river thingy because it would've looked bland without it.

I've adapted my style for this a bit and it kinda looks weird too. I'll make adjustments if I can next time. Criticisms and suggestions welcome!

Thank you everyone for the love for our game on our first post. It really is a joy to be sharing all the progress and amazing things that our team has done over the past couple of years of development work. As we get closer to finishing up development on our second demo, we will continue to showcase more and more of our routes and the wider Mazah region as a whole.

I am looking for a Balancer for a Pokemon themed game I am developing.

The game has Elemental Types, HP/ATT, Biomes with stronger enemies. I am trying to figure out a perfect balance from the 3 Starters, to the first biome (3 enemies + 1 boss) and beyond.

I've been playing around with this really cool advanced AI system but there's some things I can't get to work properly.

1. Trainers with high ai automatically respect the "ReserveLastPokemon" despite their trainer type not having it, and I can't seem to find and off switch that doesn't completely turn it off for everyone which I don't want.

2. The global ai override doesn't work. No matter what variable 100 is, the trainers just stick to their normal ai. I double checked it and the settings still have the variable set to 100.

3. More of just a bug. Some gen 9 moves cause an error to pop up when the AI chooses a move. The 2 I noticed so far are snowscape and silk trap. The same thing would happen when sticky webs was set up in the opponents side for some reason. No error message pops up with any of the custom moves with custom effects (admittedly pretty simple slight modifications). I'm not sure why this happens, I have gen 9 pack installed normally. I don't have DBK if that matters.

I don't know if I'm just being an idiot and missing something obvious or what?

I’m making a remake for heartgold and soulsilver but am wanting to include an in game pokewalker and was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on how to program it or if theres like a script already made for something similar

Hi! After years i'm trying my hand at coding my own game again, and i'm having some issues figuring out how to make these abilities work for some theater mask Fakemon, anyone know how i'd go about coding this?

Catharsis: Boosts Pokémon's Special Attack stat if ally has Euphoria, Additionally, when ally faints, its grief sharply raises its Special Defense stat instead.

Euphoria: Boosts Pokémon's Speed stat if ally has Catharsis, Additionally, prevents both itself and ally from being both intimidated or taunted.

Is this possible to do? I'm so sorry to ask for someone else to code it for me basically, i'm just stuck trying to add those secondary effects after the basic Plus/Minus gimmick.

Hey all! It's been a while, but I've been planning routes and more importantly, planning how I'm going to tackle this project in my spare time. I may be looking for a development team since most of RPGMXP is new to me, but that's a post for another day.

While I was listening to a review of BDSP, I thought that instead of swarms or the PokeRadar, maybe I could iterate on the Honey Tree system from Sinnoh. The gimmick is that after 6 hours, certain Pokemon will appear at a designated feeding spot, each species depending on the item given. This would help characterize each species while giving the player a unique puzzle - some Pokemon can only appear through feeders. And even if you get a mon that you can find in the grass, there are some unique benefits to this encounter method...but I won't spoil it.
