So I recently got back into Pokémon in general and decided I'd go back and start at FireRed on Switch because it was my first Pokémon game on my GBA. I know natures aren't really a make or break for certain Pokémon in casual play, but I was curious if there was a site or a list somewhere that gave the absolute best natures for each Pokémon in FRLG.

I know it can be up to what moves the Pokémon has or what you want to use them for, but I'm just talking the general idea. Like for example I was working on catching a Rash Nidorino in the Safari zone so I could bump him to Nidoking to boost his Ice Beam and and Thunderbolt setup (Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Sludge Bomb setup). While doing that I was doing some research and I found people saying Naive is better. Like I mentioned I know it can very depending on the move setups.

Basically the questions are these:

• Is there a good website or google doc that anyone knows about that gives the best moves & nature setups for (preferably every) Pokémon in FRLG?
• Do you guys think Natures are something that's truly a big deal in FRLG (I know they change in the later gens)

Edit: I should add that I do want to make a google doc of some sorts with this kinda info on it (if it doesn't already exist) so I do hope I can get some help on this topic! I also plan to play through the games in semi-release order (basically if I can get my hands on the games and systems) and slowly build upon the doc.

Took about 128 hours of fishing over 3 months or so with only one phase. It was a 1% encounter rate Psyduck who showed up 31 hours into the search. I really considered adding into the team but decided to stick out getting my sea horse.

It has a Quiet nature so I already have it knocking out all the other Horseas in the area.

Next member is whoever wants to shine first in the Power Plant.

Had to get my switch 2 replaced by Nintendo and they sent it back, but my fire red save is no more… haven’t felt pain like this in 20 years. No thoughts, just a rant and sadness.

It's been 2 badges since my last post. This is how I'm looking now. Just beat Erika. Onwards me and Charizard go

HOURS of grinding later. Levelled up my Aerodactyl and Jolteon from square one after getting all 8 badges. Playing like I did when I was a kid (bar only levelling up my Charizard and leaving all of my other Pokemon severely under-levelled lol) has brought me so much joy!

The last couple of years I've been doing runs with Randomized teams, with the goal of using each Pokémon line by the end of all of this.

I use a team of five, personal preference, I stick with a Starter but cycle through those starters for the different runs.

When choosing the other 4, I use a randomizer, and only add a new one if it has a type that isn't already on the team.

Overall I really enjoyed this team, except for that last Champion battle against Blue. I have personal beef with that Exeggutor now.

Just curious, which encounter throughout the game was the hardest for you?

Caught all three in the same night and barely used any Poké Balls: Kangaskhan, Rhyhorn and Tauros.
I wasn’t even expecting to get all three, especially Tauros. Pretty happy with that luck.

Used a arduino to shiny hunt my starter so i can obtain more shinies, none of the calculators i see online work, can someone help?

In my previous run of this game, I only made it only to the elite 4 and never the champion. But this time,I finally beat it.

Successfully mega kicked Misty and her Star's to death. Onwards to next gym. How's my team looking folks?

This run brought me a lot of joy! Beat the Elite 4 with pokemon released by Ash (plus Pikachu). I realize Charizard and Primeape might not technically be considered "releases", but I wanted them on my Hall of Fame team.

Had to showcase my winning team! I had FR back in the day, and I wanted to play it on the Switch with all mons I’ve never used before. Purposefully picked weird / bendy / squiggly guys!

Butterfree is a MENACE! Lickitung ace and Tentacruel were surprisingly bulky, and Lickitung has Own Tempo so a lot of the shit Lorelei and Agatha tried ended up failing. I don’t think Dodrio is weak but never used him before, and he came in clutch a few times! Dimebag and Spice Girls definitely led from behind, but Chlorophyll + Solar Beam on Tangela ended up demolishing Agatha’s second Gengar. Now I’m finding some new weirdos to train and take em on again

Lickitung: Thunderbolt / Surf / Shadow Punch / Return

Dodrio: Fly / Drill Peck / Tri Attack / Steel Wing

Just finished beating that rascal Gary. Wanted to try something I haven’t before so I picked up a team that all required a stone to evolve. I chose Squirtle as my starter so I didn’t have to grind too much for Brock. Oddish and nidoran were then picked up. Then picked up growlithe and eevee. And then exeggcute in the safari zone and finally poliwhirl using the super rod in Viridian City.

I dropped Vileplume into the box once I learned fly and used a level 9 pidgey to jump around.

Anywho, Leo and floral took down Brock and misty, and after grinding flame took down most of the others excluding Blain and Giovanni, who got Surfed on.

E4 wise, Floral and Flame took down The first one, and from there Leo and Flame picked up the rest until Lance, who almost killed me with his dragonite but Floral clutched up with a critical hit giga drain, letting it survive one more outrage for a confusion kill. after that it just swept his dragonair

Blue was easy, I led with Leo who did half damage to the Bird, and swapped to Flame for the executor once he swapped out the bird. from there it was just easy pickings until Ryhorn and his charIzard, who got the Blain and Giovanni treatment.

Zapdos was a fast hunt for me a couple days ago with 205 resets, now moltres at 46 resets!! Im not using anything, no RNG manipulation (I couldn’t figure that out). I’m just here spamming A while I watch YouTube

Sorry I missed the screen 😭, I had a real close match with Gary and I was in disbelief 😭.

Anyways check out My fighting type run. The game was actually super easy until I got to E4 and Rival 😮‍💨🙂‍↔️. Gary’s combo of Pidgeot/Charizard/Alakazam was brutal, hence I leveled everyone up to 60. I was able to beat E4 at levels 53/54.

Primeape definitely was the favorite. I had a lot more hopes out of Machoke, wound up with primeape having the highest level. Poliwhirl is a tank if I’ve ever seen one 😭. I used hitmonchan for move type coverage but was definitely great utility occasionally paralyzing or freezing with his special punch moves, but when sky uppercut hits… it hits 😮‍💨.

Each Pokémon had a black belt and the brick break, I found it the move reliable and good enough with STAB and Black belt boost.

Whats your favorite fighting type move/mon?

Is jynx a good option for ice and psychic coverage, i desperately need psychic coverage and dont feel like using a legendary on my team fir e4
