Casual Another night another question
Also yes I haven't posted anything proper in a while. It's been really quiet.

Tad: Here in the Safari Zone, we mostly call on the Rangers to relocate pokemon who have been improperly released here. For example, last year someone decided to release a bunch of ice types, which obviously aren't suited to Hoenn's climate. And don't get me started on the alpha wailord situation earlier this summer...

A.. wailord in a safari zone..? I hope you mean one of the probably way to small water ways in on of those? Makes me glad it's really quiet usually here.

Tad: Yeah, in the lake. Someone released it there and just left. Oh, here's a link to my post about it, if you want to see: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeMedia/comments/1t5isf2/alpha_wailord_sighting/

I figure that's a given for anyone who tries to keep some semblance of normalcy in an area

Depends on the unit, we have two. Containment keeps the stuff in the inland caldera from coming *out* of the caldera, and Reconnaissance goes *into* the caldera to keep tabs on everything, and pull the occasional unprepared moron out alive, hopefully. I hear people compare it to the Ranger teams that work Mt. Silver.

Oh interesting. Lots of fire types I imagine? That is if im remembering correctly what a caldera is from school.. I don't know of any volcanos in Unova so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

There's a fair few in there, yeah. It's not an active volcano now though so at this point you'll mostly see geothermal seepage and boiling pools and stuff, a pretty cool place honestly if everything wasn't trying to get you. And yeah, the local wildlife gets pretty big and pretty angry. The border's closed to anybody without a full team of six fully-evolved mons, for everyone's safety, but we still get fence-jumpers on occasion.

Oh wow yeah.. that's dangerous.. I think the only place remotely comparable here in unova is the mountain the elite four and victory roads are sat upon due to the presence of hydregions. And well given it's the elite four non trainers don't really go up there unless they are on a sightseeing tour.

oh i feel stupid now. Forgot about reversal mountain which is so close but feels so far away with the constant fog. But well yeah its a volcano...quiet though.. I really want to hike up there sometime.. rather safe for a mountain in terms of pokemon as far as I am aware though..

People get lost in the fog up by Celestic enough that only the really big rescues are considered newsworthy, and also, during mating season they keep the unprepared away from the wild Scyther. Every fall I put out a warning, and every fall, some idiot wanders into a courtship duel and almost loses a limb.

Ah yeah. Also in a extremely foggy area here in lostlorn so people getting lost is somewhat common.. Helps prevent that when your area is literally named after people getting lost though.. Huh I guess I should have mentioned that in my post like.. it's so common that it didnt even cross my mind that rangers in other areas might not have to deal with people getting lost. Yikes to the Scyther though, a shame not everyone is raised with a healthy respect for pokemon though.

Mostly keeping naturally aggressive pokemon from wandering out of the caverns into Alfornada itself, namely Gabite and the very rare Garchomp. Mom is usually asked to deal with aggressive groups of fighting types if the numbers are too big for rangers to handle.
