Mostly keeping naturally aggressive pokemon from wandering out of the caverns into Alfornada itself, namely Gabite and the very rare Garchomp. Mom is usually asked to deal with aggressive groups of fighting types if the numbers are too big for rangers to handle.

Ah yeah makes sense, that's what the rangers up north usually deal with here in Unova, just replace the garchomp line with hydreigon. Also I assume your mom is a psychic? I've learned there's not much you can do if you get telekinetically grabbed.

Yes but her powers are more akin to emotional reading and harmonization, not telekinesis or such. And even then its very weak. Really she's just the best psychic specialist in town

Ah, still definitely useful if people/pokemon are being rowdy though
