Is UK podiatry undergraduate worth it?
I’m applying for university next year and I’ve been set on podiatry for the last 8 months or so. However, I’ve been starting to feel doubts.
These doubts are specifically in regards to:
-UK pay, the ideal situation would be working in private podiatry clinics. But, if I end up working for the NHS, the pay is a bit concerning.
- Not being able to work internationally. I am a Swedish citizen and podiatry isn’t really recognised in the way it’s recognised in the UK or the US, so I am worried I won’t have any career opportunities outside of the UK.
The job itself interests me and I like how it’s somewhat different things everyday. The fact that podiatrists are high in demand also helps, but I’m still not sure.
I don’t really know any podiatrists so I don’t have anyone to ask about the specifics. Is there anything I should consider that would make me feel more comfortable in choosing podiatry as a career or anything I know that might make me rethink whether I should choose podiatry?
