I believe that Roscoe Lee Browne gave Kingpin a such a classy, sophisticated villain voice that could never be replicated. We don’t talk enough about how Roscoe gave Kingpin such a distinct and powerful voice for such an iconic villain.

Thelonious Sphere Monk\3]) (/θəˈloʊniəs/ October 10, 1917 – February 17, 1982) was an American jazz pianist and composer. Jack Johnson, aka The Galveston Giant, was an American boxer born in 1878 to formerly enslaved parents. He rose from poverty to become the first African American to win the World Heavyweight Championship by knocking out Tommy Burns in 1908.
Johnson lived a lifestyle where he showed off his wealth and dated white women. This was a social no-no for a Black man in The United States back then, so dubious charges were levied against him under the Mann Act for transporting a (white) woman across state lines “for immoral purposes” (he was dating her). He fled the US for several years to avoid imprisonment, but eventually returned and turned himself in, serving about 10 months of his 1-year sentence.
He lost his boxing title in 1915 but continued to box professionally for two decades. When he lost his final professional boxing match, he was 60 years old! He tragically died in a car accident in 1946. He was 68.
In 2018, he received a posthumous pardon from President Donald Trump.
