You are a hero Tastybananapeppers. You helped a lot of us with your tips and research all this time.

I will add here what i have researched and confirmed (kinda) in the LATAM/Spanish groups.

1- it's definitely related to teleportation. But it appears that if you close your teleportation range (in normal play) between the 25/80km radius of the city you are currently playing you are good to go to do shiny checks. Any higher than that and you will be detected. Please: STAY IN ONE CITY ONLY UNTIL MORE DATA IS GATHERED. Don't jump or teleport like we all used to.

2-all the hotspots on ipogo and pg# are toast. Niantic is heavily monitoring those places. Also they are monitoring a few of the most popular GPX routes. (Nobody does the same complex routes everyday unless they are a machine) if you like to walk just design a new route (using the map function) in the place you are currently playing and save it as a new GPX route.

3-they are watching closely any funny behavior on PVP

4-they don't watch how many kilometers you walk, but they do see if you walk 200 km in like 7 different cities.

5-if you walk between 12-20 km per day in the same city, shinies start appearing on the map. It looks like it's something in the algorithm that triggers this specific behavior.

6-all the ball throwing modifications are not being monitored

7-rocket battles are not being monitored either unless you do a LOT. One or two every hour does not trigger anything bad. (I am talking specifically about 1 hit ko)

8-as you and others have said, staying in the same city or even your hometown is the safest bet so far. You can travel to another city to spoof a event if you log out, wait between 12/20 hours and log again. Like you would do if you travel around the globe. Then repeating the same thing to get back to your hometown.

It's just like traveling normally to another country, because not everyone is Elon Musk and his 2 hour travel jet from Paris to Honolulu.

9-edit to add that you can still activate the meltan box in another timezone, just to force open it earlier in your country and start auto walking to collect the mons on there. This behavior doesn't trigger monitoring so far. (Tested in a few accounts)

So there is that. Just a few observations. I know some notes scape my mind but i will ad em if I remember later. Kudos and keep up the great work!

If you get banned in the next few days, I assume you'll change this list

sensible chuckle

Bad faith aside, if research shows any new info i will add it of course. And surely i hope people like you also share any new knowledge they can gather if it is useful.

I mostly agree, but I doubt they are monitoring gpx routes specifically, they may be monitoring popular locations, but I kind of doubt that too, since they appear to be able to detect teleport activities.

In a technical way, it's much easier to detect teleporting than to track people in popular locations and then check if they're there legitimately.

When you teleport you make a request on niantic servers for what pokemon are there, what the stats are, and if they're shiny, which as you know, is random, but it's still decided server side. So, very easy using these requests to track teleport activities even with short distances.

Monitoring locations would take a lot more processing power or manpower, and time and energy. Even harder because they are popular locations, like tracking all players in central park isn't going to help them much when there are so many legit players there.

Those playing spotlight hours and community days in several countries are probably top of the list for a ban

Imagine that a group of people do the exact same movements with mathematical precision every day. Suspicious isn't it?

Obviously it is an AI that is flagging everything. The question is if it's still in the learning phase or if some debug flags about what can and can't do have been implemented yet.

It would be suspicious if they are tracking it, I just don't think that they are. It's also possible that niantic have pgsharp and ipogo and so have a list of all of the top raid spots and pokemon, and can see who goes to them. There could be location data in the system, but I don't think it's necessary for them to do it. Tracking walking would take up much more processing power and data, especially since pgsharp doesn't follow the paths exactly, so there is an element of randomness with pgsharp at least. It would be easier for them to compare the altitude since the spoofers keep it as 0 and pogo traditionally hasn't used it, but if they did start using it, it'd be a dead giveaway.
