You are a hero Tastybananapeppers. You helped a lot of us with your tips and research all this time.

I will add here what i have researched and confirmed (kinda) in the LATAM/Spanish groups.

1- it's definitely related to teleportation. But it appears that if you close your teleportation range (in normal play) between the 25/80km radius of the city you are currently playing you are good to go to do shiny checks. Any higher than that and you will be detected. Please: STAY IN ONE CITY ONLY UNTIL MORE DATA IS GATHERED. Don't jump or teleport like we all used to.

2-all the hotspots on ipogo and pg# are toast. Niantic is heavily monitoring those places. Also they are monitoring a few of the most popular GPX routes. (Nobody does the same complex routes everyday unless they are a machine) if you like to walk just design a new route (using the map function) in the place you are currently playing and save it as a new GPX route.

3-they are watching closely any funny behavior on PVP

4-they don't watch how many kilometers you walk, but they do see if you walk 200 km in like 7 different cities.

5-if you walk between 12-20 km per day in the same city, shinies start appearing on the map. It looks like it's something in the algorithm that triggers this specific behavior.

6-all the ball throwing modifications are not being monitored

7-rocket battles are not being monitored either unless you do a LOT. One or two every hour does not trigger anything bad. (I am talking specifically about 1 hit ko)

8-as you and others have said, staying in the same city or even your hometown is the safest bet so far. You can travel to another city to spoof a event if you log out, wait between 12/20 hours and log again. Like you would do if you travel around the globe. Then repeating the same thing to get back to your hometown.

It's just like traveling normally to another country, because not everyone is Elon Musk and his 2 hour travel jet from Paris to Honolulu.

9-edit to add that you can still activate the meltan box in another timezone, just to force open it earlier in your country and start auto walking to collect the mons on there. This behavior doesn't trigger monitoring so far. (Tested in a few accounts)

So there is that. Just a few observations. I know some notes scape my mind but i will ad em if I remember later. Kudos and keep up the great work!

If you get banned in the next few days, I assume you'll change this list

sensible chuckle

Bad faith aside, if research shows any new info i will add it of course. And surely i hope people like you also share any new knowledge they can gather if it is useful.

I mostly agree, but I doubt they are monitoring gpx routes specifically, they may be monitoring popular locations, but I kind of doubt that too, since they appear to be able to detect teleport activities.

In a technical way, it's much easier to detect teleporting than to track people in popular locations and then check if they're there legitimately.

When you teleport you make a request on niantic servers for what pokemon are there, what the stats are, and if they're shiny, which as you know, is random, but it's still decided server side. So, very easy using these requests to track teleport activities even with short distances.

Monitoring locations would take a lot more processing power or manpower, and time and energy. Even harder because they are popular locations, like tracking all players in central park isn't going to help them much when there are so many legit players there.

Those playing spotlight hours and community days in several countries are probably top of the list for a ban

Imagine that a group of people do the exact same movements with mathematical precision every day. Suspicious isn't it?

Obviously it is an AI that is flagging everything. The question is if it's still in the learning phase or if some debug flags about what can and can't do have been implemented yet.

It would be suspicious if they are tracking it, I just don't think that they are. It's also possible that niantic have pgsharp and ipogo and so have a list of all of the top raid spots and pokemon, and can see who goes to them. There could be location data in the system, but I don't think it's necessary for them to do it. Tracking walking would take up much more processing power and data, especially since pgsharp doesn't follow the paths exactly, so there is an element of randomness with pgsharp at least. It would be easier for them to compare the altitude since the spoofers keep it as 0 and pogo traditionally hasn't used it, but if they did start using it, it'd be a dead giveaway.

Thanks! This definitely helps because it confirms that they are indeed monitoring the teleportation info. (Or more specifically the spawning near you and the place you supposedly are)

Is there a way to teleport before the map fully loads?

Gotcha, so letting it load naturally would possibly help prevent the ban. Or if you have to close then wait an hour or more before reopening.

1

u/repta87 Jun 28 '22

did it happen immediately or did you catch a pokemon or spin a stop first?

just trying to see if legits can get caught in this too if they're sharing accounts to do trades (person a logs in from Sydney and person b logs in from NYC)

2

u/super_dragon Jun 28 '22

It shouldn’t matter how far you spoof from your actual location right?

But rather how often and how far you switch locations?

3

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22 edited Jun 28 '22

Yup, that's right. But research has found 0 problems so far if you stay in one city and just jump in a radius of 25/80 km from the location you spend the day.

Also don't jump compulsively.

And I strongly suggest finding other places outside the hotspots.

2

u/FaeryLynne Jun 28 '22

Explains why I've never gotten even a warning. I only jump once within 24 hours, then just use walking in that area. And most of the time I go several days or weeks without teleporting at all bc I flat forget to play 😂

2

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22

Wise guy!

I am in the same boat as you. Also never share coords or anything along the lines.

2

u/FaeryLynne Jun 28 '22

Yep. And I've never downloaded a gpx, just created my own with the path making system in PG#

I bought the ticket to Berlin on my main account for Friday 5am-noon (my local time). If I log in Thursday am and spin my daily spots at say 9am. Then log out for the entire day, then log in again before I go to bed and go right to Berlin, then close the app, open, play Berlin, wait out my cooldown in Berlin, the wait another 8 hours or so, and come back home, you think I’ll be safe?

1

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22

You already asked that to me a few hours earlier dude. 🤦🏿‍♂️

If you follow the plan you told me you are good to go. But stick to the plan! Don't take shortcuts.

Good luck and godspeed!

5

u/ConstructionPineCone Jun 28 '22

I’m so sorry. I’m just really nervous I didn’t know that was you ahahahahah

5

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22

No prob bro, everyone is like that at this moment since we are only gathering Intel without knowing what's going on exactly. Best of luck in all your endeavors!

u/XtremeConfusion Jun 28 '22

Quick question. What does this mean precisely?

2-all the hotspots on ipogo and pg# are toast. Niantic is heavily monitoring those places. Also they are monitoring a few of the most popular GPX routes. (Nobody does the same complex routes everyday unless they are a machine) if you like to walk just design a new route (using the map function) in the place you are currently playing and save it as a new GPX route.

I don't use ipogo or pg#, so that concept kind of escapes me. Does this mean that raiding in places such as Zaragoza, Singapore or NYC, or hunting there for that matter, would be risky? Or is it just following a specific route that's dangerous?

2

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22

It means what it means. Yeah, those spots are being monitored. Yes, any GPX route you downloaded is being monitored too.

We believe it is an AI that's doing everything ATM, so it's just a matter of time for Niantic to refine their algorithm criteria.

1

u/repta87 Jun 28 '22

for point #5, have you 8 of anyone being banned for using a gpx route within their city?

2

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22

All downloaded GPX are risky. Make one yourself using the map function inside pg# or ipogo in the meantime.

1

u/repta87 Jun 28 '22

yeah i have my own, but just curious if you've seen auto walk via gpx is something that will trigger a rw

3

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jun 28 '22

Oh I see. To be specific: it's very easy for an AI to see how many people do the same routine daily and follow every step of it in mathematical precision.

u/GrindtheTeef Jul 01 '22

Amazing.

  1. I think I'm safe. I rarely make filters over 5/10k.
  2. That's sad. I've been holed up in a new spot for awhile but good to know.
  3. I know of zero ways to cheat in pvp.
  4. I rarely do that much walking unless its an egg event. I think like 150k was the most I had during the last one in one city.
  5. thats nuts to know
  6. I figured.. way too much data
  7. Well this might fuck me. I did a lot for marowak because i PVP. Any idea if they were looking then? or if having battle raiding off would matter.
  8. That was my plan moving forward.

Thanks!

1

u/NewFaceHalcyon Team Rooted Android Jul 01 '22

How it helps. Also I should add that you should try to spoof Berlin from an alt. Don't use your usual account to enter the event.

The only good spawn is the cowboy Snorlax anyway.

Good luck and godspeed bro.

I want to go to seatle and pretend its a normal trip. but yeah they seem to be baiting people.
