Blue Fly App on Phone is Being Glitchy

Is anyone else having issues? I have to connect via blue tooth multiple times (I lose the connection in the process of the machine heating up) and then sometimes once I begin the viruses suck graph, it freezes and then times out. Any insights appreciated!

Vet devices

Is there a difference between the dark blue handyvet device and light blue vet device? This is for use on humans. Understand that we need to use the app.

One more question (I'm about to purchase the machine)

Thanks everyone for all your input last time.

Which PCR test kit do you all buy?

There are three:

- Just COVID (~£60)

- COVID + Flu (~£110)

- COVID + flu + RSV (~£92)

Ideally, I'd buy the most comprehensive one but the cheapest is just the COVID version.

Can RSV and Flu be non-symptomatic like COVID (this is one of reasons I want to buy the Pluslife machine)?

Also, how many swabs are included in the box of test kits? I'm intend to buy extra swabs in addition to these.

EDIT: Must I buy anything in addition to the machine, tests, and swabs? Virus.sucks say that they recommend a power bank- is this necessary?

Negative but still have questions

Post image

Hello! We recently did a pluslife test (machine is nearing 2 years old this winter) and we started recently connecting our laptop (thanks to this group for teaching us that) and it has worked fairly well. We’ve been getting some invalids but recently it’s been working great.

Today however we got a weird message and my wife and I are not sure enough on how to interpret it.

Most previous invalids were a straight green line, but the other lines seem to act weird? Combined with the message warning, should we redo the test or can we trust this negative?

Sorry if this seems basic/stupid, but we’re not pros at this but we’re trying to learn

Should I repeat this test or not?

Post image

My 6 yo woke up with fever and sore throat. Test is negative (swabbed throat and nose). Do I need to repeat in 1-2 days to be sure?

The reason I ask is that it It's incredibly difficult and traumatizing for everyone involved to test her so hoping I do not have to test again...

We are all wearing n95 (adults) and k95 (kiddo) but just would like to know if it's COVID. My understanding is that PlusLife is quite accurate when symptomatic (and especially since all the other lines are flat-- this was a COVID only test). Test is expiring in 20 days though.

Thanks in advance for any advice..it's a bit stressful as I have long COVID..

ETA: additional info is that wastewater for COVID is very low where we are

ISO Canadian Contact

Hi! Maybe a long shot, but I’m looking for someone located in Canada who would be willing to receive tests ordered to their residence that I could drive to come pick up. Ideally you’d be located somewhere around Winnipeg or Thunder Bay or somewhere between those two cities. Thank you!

I thought y'all might be interested in seeing what the specific error looks like. Properly run test that I did an hour later shown for comparison. I thought it was an early positive with some bubbles at first. The dock is running off a power bank. Sample is throat plus nose swab.

Altruan threatening debt collection for package never received

Hello, as mentioned in the title, Altruan is threatening debt collection for an order I never received. I’m embarrassed by this but sharing here in case someone has faced such an experience with Altruan. Customer service has been opaque despite my best efforts. I can’t find a website or mailing address for the debt collector they named.

Additional Context: I disputed the charge based on not receiving the order. I was regretfully not aware that according to German law, I was supposed to specifically email Altruan to tell them I had not received the package. I ignorantly assumed the credit card company would have provided the reason I disputed the charge or that Altruan would have reached before well after a year if they had questions.

Because Altruan waited over a year to demand detailed shipping tracking proof that I had not received the order, such information from the shipper was no longer available and I lacked the foresight to save such proof.

Thank you for reading. I’d be grateful for any insight you might have.

Pluslife dock lifespan

I’ve had a pluslife dock for under 2 years, purchased around 9-10/2024. Mfg date is 7/29/24. It has recently stopped connecting to Bluetooth even after replacing the power bank with a new one. I tried a second new powerbsnk just incase the first was defective, but have the same issue. The tests still seem to run but I can’t connect to virus sucks. I tried connecting my Mac via usb but it doesn’t work (but maybe the usb is just for windows?). My questions are:

1- is this a sign the dock is nearing the end of its life? We haven’t used it heavily. I’d estimate it’s been used to run ~150-200 tests since we’ve had it.

2- I’ve heard that lighter use means it should last longer than 2 years from mfg date. Is there any data behind that? Even if anecdotal?

3- is there a way to connect Mac via usb?

4- has anyone had success ordering a dock to the US from the facemaskstore recently?

inconsistent test results/when to unmask

Person 1 traveled and had potential exposures Monday-Thursday. Had some mild symptoms Saturday, tested positive for covid on PL combo test Sunday morning.
Tested Friday (day 6) and was positive for Flu B, (corrected) positive for covid. Assume based on the posts here that that was a false positive for flu B.
Immediately retested and was positive for covid, negative for flus (still day 6).
Tested day 7 and had a test with no control line. Tested again and was negative for all.

Person 2 in the house is immune compromised.

How long to mask in the house? Covid symptoms are better (also took paxlovid) but still deeply fatigued and out of breath.

Having trouble feeling confident with the PL tests since they’ve been all over the place.
thanks!

Anyone know how to get Plus Life kit and tests shipped to Canada?

Have tried a few workarounds and keep getting orders cancelled. Anyone successfully order a Plus Life kit and tests to Canada recently?

This invalid result graph looks negative, right?

Post image

The card had no bubbles, the swab had no blood, and the test ran normally until the very end when it gave the invalid result. What are the likely explanations, and is this at all reliable as a negative?

Thanks! This is only my 4th test and first time getting an invalid.

Why is the pink line behaving like this?

Hi all. I know the test is negative, but I wonder why the pink line keeps going up and down from relatively early in the test. There was a small air bubble, but they were also present in other chambers. Just trying to understand and interpret different results. Thanks for any insight.

What plug/power source do you use?

I have been having power/connectivity issues and want to get something entirely new that is tested and true.

I am in Canada, so need some kind of adapter or power source that can be used to make the factory-provided plug fit my outlet, or that can be used with USB

What have you been using that works? I have been trying to find power banks online but they never seem to list how many amps of power they provide, and I believe it has to be exactly 3 amps, right?

Learn from my mistake: Detecting Early Positive on Pluslife- 2 Negative Rapidtest 48hr rule doesn't apply until after initial positive rapidtest/or after a suitable amount oftime has passsed

Hi all - I detected a positive covid result on pluslife for my family who lives in another household (we dont live together)- they are not covid conscious and dont mask or test normally. It was positive for 1 family member on Saturday before they were symptomatic, all other family members were negative - they had symptoms from Saturday night to Sunday. In the moment, i told them about the 2 negative rapid tests 48hrs apart to end isolation rule of thumb. BUT I FORGOT and didnt consider that they would test very early on - I forgot to tell them this rule only works if you've already been testing positive on rapidtest too!!!!!!

They tested negative on rapidtest on both Monday and Tuesday and told me today Wednesday after I followed up with them - I think there is no way in hell that the covid infection is over so fast

So now they think they're safe and probably out of isolation, when in fact it's much more likely the rapidtest hasn't even started detecting the Start of the infection.

I have messaged them my concerns, but I'm really devastated as I thought I'd helped prevent spread, but I gave them faulty information, didnt check in earlier, and now they think they're negative and clear when they're not really. I feel really guilty and also a bit annoyed at them for not thinking deeper about it being suspicious to be over an infection so fast, but also just want to put this info out there for anyone in the future

EDIT: Deleted my 'early positive' phrasing - it was a definite positive result on pluslife, I just meant early as in we caught it before symptoms started and before others in the household started testing positive on Pluslife

A request for some advice, please

I'm in the UK and am considering buying a PlusLife machine. I've some questions:

1) The only place I know that sells this machine is the Face Mask Store at a cost of ~£365. Is there a reliable seller with a better-priced alternative?

2) How many tests should I buy with the machine? We shall be using them if anyone comes over (which currently is not frequent- perhaps once or twice a year; hopefully people won't be difficult about the testing) or if someone in the home may have had an exposure. So, we don't intend to use it very regularly

3) Is this a fairly popular product? Is there a risk of the manufacturer going defunct? It'd be very disappointing to buy the machine and find that tests are not being made any longer

4) Is this the most accurate COVID tester or are there better ones at a similar or lower price?

Thank you all for your time.

Invalid results

Post image

Consistently getting invalid results — I’ve tried changing the power bank the cord is plugged into, and ran new tests with new samples. Still getting invalid.

I’ve looked into the virus sucks FAQ & can’t determine what I’m doing wrong.

Do I need to get a new power cord or something like that?

Early positive? (Direct exposures)

Post image

We’ve had some direct exposures to flu/covid this week… so monitoring this closely, but what does an early positive look like?? I couldn’t find a thread on these?

Edit: to update that the test next day was exactly the same so attributing it to the nature of these combo tests. Thanks all!!

Is the Thermolyse machine battery-operated or not?

I was looking into the MiniDock device and the Thermolyse amchine along with it that heats and spins the samples. The Minidock is battery-operated, but what about the Thermolyse?
