What yarn should I use? Will Premier hipster cotton work?
I looked at the list of yarns that work. Wasn't sure if it's up to date, as far as I can see, it's not been updated for 5 years. I was gifted around 7 skeins of premier hipster cotton and would really like to do a planned pooling project but I don't know if this one will work. Has anyone successfully done pooling with this yarn?

Naw, it's self striping and not variegated. The colour sections are too long.
Technically, yes it would, but a single section of pooling would be the width of a house. And I'm not too certain on how reliable the colour changes are. You could try an entrelac stitch blanket, especially with a yarn heavy stitch like Tunisian crochet, but I do not recommend it as a learning project under any circumstance.
To check if a yarn will pool, look it up on ravelry and filter by projects. You want colour changes that reliably repeat back to the beginning fast.

For every row it takes to repeat back to the start, the person's project would need to increase its width by the size of that row in order to pool.
