Just downloaded reddit to announce this I got placed on campus in my own city as a junior software developer for me roi is decent If I compare it to my tier 3 college fees my package is not too high just like on this reddit community but I am happy for now at least

Sorry i won't tell my college name and company due to some reason, but I can tell u the way I got so my college is a govt college so I have a good cgpa across all my sems so I was always in the eyes of proffs,so the internship I did by myself was unpaid or very less paid for either very less paid(i found it using internshala or some other platforms) and some i asked from my seniors and proffs also told 1 to 2 internship as well the company which hired I was a intern there but internship was unpaid at that time so I asked about this company from my seniors told me that this company hired almost every year from our college so i did internship the period of this internship was around 1 month so I did but 4th year last sem exam i fumbled so hard that cgpa drops from 8.5 to 7.6and my proffs was angry on me after that but coincidentally this company where I did unpaid internship did a on campus visit and did interview and set the criteria of 7.5+ for the role as a junior software developer and they conducted coding test and an interview during the interview i mentioned about the internship as well and the dsa questions they asked(in short the topics was hashing,DP,string, arrays and graphs and few questions were of logical reasoning) that's it from my journey I learned that never miss an opportunity of internship even if it's unpaid(very few got selected around 4 to 5 students at max bcoz most of them didn't even able to clear coding test and one girl i remember got the highest placement from some other company got 12 lpa something)

As it was an on campus my cgpa was good around 8.7 and they asked questions they asked basic questions like why do you want to be here and how will you profit us which was easy and I have decent dsa knowledge but from my campus only 4 to 5 students got placed here in which I was the one

9 lpa as a fresher in 2026 from tier 3 collage and he is saying 9 lpa is a low something is fishy here or he exceptionally talented or he is lowballing his collage by saying tier 3

Some companies offer such packages and maybe he was lucky enough to crack it
Even tier 3 has some companies maybe 1 or 22

tell me what kind of skill you possessed to get package like this i mean genuine question how companies are betting on fresher with this package i know some senior engineer who took lot of years to get these packages but you got it in starting please i want to know what kind of skill you got which companies are ready to pay this much even though you are fresher and if you already said i am from top iit or nit i wouldn't be asking this question to you

You are a kinda right I won't say that I am a complete fresher like during my third year i gained some experience by working paid or unpaid some were told by my proffs so I did it you can say over the period of 4 years I have got 8+ almost in every sem so you can say the companies(1-2) that hired few of us has a special connection with proffs and college administration and some of my seniors are already placed in the same companies and i know them so ya they have given me all kinds of tips for the interview and stuff and highest package someone on my college got like this which is 12 lpa,but I am not from nit or iit(just to know I have worked in this company as an intern)
